Turisprime at Lisbon Airport

Cons: we were late but we couldn’t contact any representatives using the contact number provided in the booking confirmation email. therefore we waited at the meeting point of shuttle bus service, kept calling the line and sent an email to the office but we didn’t get any response. end up we waited there for 30 mins until we got on the shuttle bus. the number didn’t work.

Pros: Car was clean and ready on agreed time.

Cons: Rude , unclear, lots of surprises and extra costs at the counter. I had to give 3 different deposits, charges that were never mentioned while booking. Extra star because the car was totally fine.

Totally dissatisfied with the experience, but I know well that even if I change companies in the future, the result would be comparable. N2: full to full policy… what??? When I picked up the car, the range to tank was 550km. Too bad the full tank brought it to 670km.

By paying $600, I could reduce deductible to $200 and have full coverage. The whole thing felt unethical if not illegal.

Cons: The car itself, very uncomfortable for longer rentals. Travelled for 2000km, and i have back pains from the seats. Noise isolation is zero, you can hear everything and wind is almost inside the car.

Pros: Despite some negative online reviews we were satisfied with the service we received. You have to read the contract but if you do then there are no surprises about hidden costs. We forgot a phone at the drop off desk when we returned the car and after they had dropped us at the airport the shuttle driver returned to the office to get it for us. These was very appreciated.

Cons: The car we received did have dents and scratches. It was completely up to us to take pictures and document these with no acknowledgement by the representative. We returned the car in the condition we received it (no additional damage) and the representative said it was all good. I would have liked a more positive acknowledgement that our damage deposit would be cancelled/returned. There location is a little out of the way from the Lisbon airport and their hours mean no drop before 8 am.

On checkout I asked if there are any additional fees, they sad no, 15 seconds later I got a message from my bank about an additional fee of 15 EUR. When trying to explain I was called "an asshole" and such like. There was no damage to the car but I still haven't received my deposits (450 EUR) and I reported this to the Police and my embassy.

We ultimately had to take an Uber because they are so far away. We saw many vehicles of the other car hire come and go even 3-4 times in the time we waited for Turisprime. On our return journey we almost missed the flight except for the Uber. This company is low cost and so is their pick up and drop off. Horrible!

Joao at the rental desk was very friendly and helpful and we collected the car in standard time. I really do not understand all the negative reviews regarding having to pay a deposit, etc. What do you think? When picking up the car they know you’re tired and in a rush so they use this opportunity to make you sign up a complicated but way more expensive contract arguing that they holding off money to cover possible toll and other expenses but that you will be reimbursed when returning the car. Staff was helpful and polite, especially drop-off was super quick, we literally just handed over the keys and were on our way. Cons: You need to take a shuttle to get to their office, which we knew, but despite the instructions given in the confirmation, we struggled a bit to find the right spot outside the terminal to get on the shuttle. There's no sign or timetable to tell you when you can expect the shuttle to come, however we waited for about 15mins or so, which was manageable. Small detail - car seats in shuttle bus could use a bit of cleaning :)

Cons: Car was smaller then equivalent of a Polo but fair enough. They charged me woth a My Relax package whoch I dod not ask for and did not realize at the tome of sognature. On the support desk they basically told me I sogned it so I am screwed (I called like 10 minutes after picking up the car when I reallized). A bitter side taste to a perfectly fine 10/10 else

Cons: The car broke when I was on trip from Porto to Lisbon. This led to I miss the departure flight from Portugal to Poland, which costed to me 400 EUR for a substitute flight for 4 people. Also, I called the insurance (Lusitania), that sent a taxi and a tow truck. After it, everything should be okay, but Turisprime continued to charge my credit card. Then, already in Poland, surprisingly, I received a call from Turisprime asking when I was going to drop off the car.

Cons: I got scammed. When I returned the car Turisprime blamed a scratch on me that was already on the car when I picked it up. Despite me showing pictures of the car's condition from the pick-up day, I still got charged 400 Euros which is incredibly high for a little scratch that I did not even cause. This business is a scam business and should not be trusted.

Cons: Lots of pressure to take out extra insurance even though I had DiscoverCars insurance. Was told that I needed to pay for a fob to get through motorway tolls as I wouldn't be able to pay with a card. This turned out not to be true. The car was much bigger than the VW golf I had ordered. The rental agent was very reluctant to demonstrate how any of the functions of the car worked. The car broke down on the last day of my rental.

Pros: I bought extra insurance with discover but the representative from Turisprime kept insisting that If I decline there’s extra coverage I would get stuck with the 1,500 euros deposit and even if was not my fault in case of accident, etc And that you discover would not give me the total using scaring tactics to make me ignore the extra insurance I bought and get their insurance and leaving me defrauded 😡

Pros: On eco mode, the car shut off when trying to start at stop signs, clutch slippage.

Cons: At pickup, we are expected to take picture ourselves to cover against any claim.

Pros: Very clean and immaculate car. Would use turispime again but shuttle bus and pick up and return of the car extremely dlow

Cons: It took 30 min for shuttle to turn up for pick up. When returning the car, I was there before turispime opened (9am)and I was the first customer. I started returning the car at 9.15, 15 min after they had opened their doors. Slow service. Another 5/10min wait for shuttle which was just there. We were waiting for the driver

Cons: I had to wait 15 minutes to speak to a desk agent at pick up and after completing the process I had to wait another 10 minutes for the car to be ready. Pick up representative was NOT friendly (felt like he was doing me a favor in talking to me). In addition, car had a strong smell of cigarettes (even though you are no allowed to smoke in the car).

Cons: Being told "the insurance coverage you have purchased from the secondary seller (you, Discovercars.com) is not recognized by our rental company" then being 'sold' an expensive coverage policy arguing at the TurisPrime counter on check in.

Pros: The drop-off was fairly efficient. But there was very low clarity on "pending charges" on my credit card and what was going to be refunded eventually, etc. Also, I ended up paying more by 10-20% than what I originally agreed to with DiscoverCars.

Cons: The service at pickup was awful and we were treated very poorly. The police who check passports were on a short-term strike - thus we spent over 4 hours getting officially into Portugal. We called Turisprime from the passport-check line and they never answered our calls. When we finally arrived at the rental desk - they said our rental was invalid because we were late. We had to argue for nearly 45 min. to be finally given the car.

Pros: The upgraded our car from Gas to Diesel without extra cost.

Cons: They didn't notify us for extra charge if we rent our car after 20:00

Pros: Picking up and dropping of the car was very easy and fast. Car in a great condition with a few minor scratches that we took photos of before leaving the garage and when dropping off they asked us to show the photos and all went well. Value for money is amazing too.

Cons: Turisprime is a great car hire unless you need to contact them. We were late for the pick up and tried to call them (to the designated number) but no answer. During the rental we called them 3 or 4 times + sent an email asking to extend the rent for one more day but they all went unanswered too. Since we just paid an extra day, in the end there was no major problem. I'd recommend Turisprime but be aware that you will most likely struggle to contact them if you ever need to.

Cons: Had to change my pick up date due to cancelled flight, but no one answered phone or replied to my emails for a whole day. Managed to speak to agent only a day after. On pick up, agent should have explained better was "insurance" he was offering me, as it turned out to not be an insurance, but a cap on the cost of any damage. When returning the car, there was a dispute with another customer refusing to pay, which meant I had to wait and watch until it was resolved which took a long time.

Cons: The agents are clearly told to try and upsell and I wasted a lot of time declining more services. This was particularly true of the extra insurance. I had purchased mine directly from Discover Cars and the person at the desk kept trying to tell me that it was effectively useless. It made the whole process feel quite dodgy.

Cons: Staff were slightly pushy on the insurance when I already had one in place, but nothing rude.

Pros: good aervice that it is possible to hire the car in Lisboa and bring it back in Porto. Also nice people working at both locations.

Cons: Opening at 9am is too late for some flight arrangements and the drop off was a little slow as customers were all waiting at their door from 8am on... when booking, they do not make their hours clear even when you specify your needed drop off time. Also, we did not get the car we were hoping for and there was damage to the front end when we got it.

Cons: When I collected the car I was told by the agent that there was no need to inspect the car as I had taken out insurance When I approached the vehicle I could see a slight scratch on the wheel arch but thought that it didn’t matter following the agent’s comment When I returned the car the agent insisted that the agent would not have told me not to inspect and that I would be charged for the damage to the car. They have debited my credit card 100 euros despite me telling them not to. Crooks!
