The app is not always working, has many connection problems to the charging stations and since the car made about 250km (rather than 500 like the agent said) I spent half a day driving between charging stations and missed my flight back home!!! When I returned the car (with 64%) and told it all to the agent, he didn't let me go without a fine.

Spent over 1 spent on trying to drop key off ended up being late for checking in luggage and just about reached plane. After long hurriedly walk. I got insurance premium insurance when booking in uk but was informed that that would cover everything so was charged additional for super insurance.

Cons: I was supposed to rent a Nissan Qashqai, which is classified as an intermediate SUV, but I was given a small compact SUV from Renault instead. When I complained, Guerin claimed that both vehicles are classified as compact cars. However, on Discovers.com, they are listed at different price levels, with clear distinctions between compact and intermediate categories. Despite this, the Guerin rental counter insisted on renting me the compact car.

Then we were told to call back the next day and even though the tow truck showed up within an hour, we had to wait 3 hours for a taxi, as Guerin doesn’t pay market rates and went to Faro from Vilamoura for another car… still waiting on refund

The app used at check-out kept timing-out before the condition of the car could be entered*. *The lighting at 6pm in the rental car lot was too dim for any reasonable photos to be taken and uploaded. Also, when importing from my iPhone photo's directory, the photo often transferred into the Guerin app as a black square and only worked reliably when taken right from the Guerin app itself. This delayed the inspection and caused the app to time-out :(

Pros: Very pleased. Actually had power outage at Lisbon airport when picking up but staff did hardcopy and got everyone out.

Pros: Overall, it was a positive experience renting a car from Guerin. I booked in advance and was provided a form to fill with my details. So upon the pick up time everything was ready. The car was in a very good condition, clean and well maintained. The drop off was also very easy and quick, they released the deposit the next day.

Both staff were super nice. I chose Guerin because I was red to have all the insurances covered with no surprises at the booth. You can get cheaper but they will get you with one on the insurances when you get there. Lots of companies don’t accept your credit card insurance.

Cons: I had to queue for over 1.5 hours after arriving on a 10pm flight to get my booking and again for over 15 minutes to pick up the car. I have rented well over 200 cars over the past 20 years and this is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had. Because of this, I would not recommend anyone to use your service and this is unacceptable, all the other car hire companies were not as busy and I would prefer to pay more and get the car faster.

Cons: It took 2.5 hours from reaching the rental desk to leaving the airport. I am furious, just absolutely enraged. An unbelievably long time that is completely unacceptable. Initial wait time was over 1.5 hours, then it also took ages to obtain the car from the pick-up point. The first day of our holiday was almost ruined. Yet staff told us this level of busyness was 'normal'. How can that be? I have never, ever waited anything like as long for car hire before (max about 0.5 hours).
