Europcar at Lisbon Airport

Pros: The car was not what we asked for - we ended up with a smaller vehicle which was not ideal. The car worked great & it was clean.

Cons: The guy at the service counter was continually trying to pressure sales any way for me to spend more & was NOT honest when inquiring about insurance coverage. Very disappointed! Make sure you know what is covered & what is not before you get to the counter!

Pros: The car was nice and clean is all . .

Cons: Nothing stood out, extreme confusing interaction's with Europcar desk worker , couldn’t explain why I was paying over double of the original cost stated in my email after payinf my deposite of 100$ ish to the renting company .

Cons: I was provided with an older vehicle which was in very poor condition and brakes were very poor condition by the time I turned the vehicle in.

Cons: Muita demora para levantar o carro. Ficamos mais de 1 hora a espera. A burocracia é gigantesca. Termos muito tecnicos para explicar como funciona o levantamento e devolucao.

Pros: One hour wait to get my car agent not very nice telling me my insurance with the partner I used to do the booking was useless

Cons: Terrible delay to pick up car at the airport over one hour. Attitude of the agent and finally having to sort out overcharge of europcar at the time of my return

Pros: Is good when I pick the car but after I by the insurance and the person tell me don’t need to check because I by the insurance

Cons: When I drop off the car the person take like 15 minutes to check the car and I tell I by the insurance and when I pick up no body check I so mad never happened to me and I rent the car for so long

Cons: The price quoted was 1/5 the actual price. I was jet lagged and the guy at EuropeCar wouldn’t even look at my booking. He had the car reserved from DiscoverCars but that’s it. I felt trapped and like I had not other option than to go with the price.

Cons: The person checking the car raised a minute chip on a wheel which we had a video of on pickup as nobody went over the vehicle with us. We were told it would be fine and then were charged when we got home. Europcar were contacted but no response. Wouldn’t ever use them again.

Pros: Getting the exact car that we booked. Very important as we had calculated our baggage allowance based on the capacity of the car. It was a very pleasant surprise when we got to our car as it is unusual in our experience.

Cons: Waited two hours for a car because they had not the requested car category with the requirements I needed. I booked well in advance.

Cons: time to pick up car (several hours with young kids in hot place); swapped for inferior car that I could have bought for less; fake charges on the bill (charged for battery charging even though they swapped the hybrid for an inferior diesel model, charged for motorway tolls despite not needing/wanting the tag)

Cons: The agent doing the paperwork made multiple errors and had to restart the whole process twice and then when we went to pick up the car, the agent forgot to do what was necessary for another company to bring the car seats we paid for because Europcar uses another company to do their child seats so we had to restart the process again. I had 2 toddlers with me and it took almost 2 hours to get our car. Meanwhile we were traveling with friends who had another company and we’re in their car within 30

Cons: Agents didnt check car for damage/scrathes prior to releasingin car. more time needed in this regard. Other rental agencies have details of previous damage prior to your hire. Blank pages and all defect needed to be addressed prior to leaving. Delayed by 30mins.

Cons: Service of car overdue. Many scratches none of which indicated in the original report. Agent had to go over the car in bad light and mark the report. Scratces have most likely been reported many times before. This takes long time and increases uncertainty if the agent does not see the damage.
