Pros: Hand over was fast.car was clean .
Cons: I have already bought the insurance from discover car. But the representative of centauro was saying that is a fake insurance and we don't accept that insurance. And was pushing to buy insurance. When I did not bought he took 300 eruos more than what was written in the discover car information sheet.

Cons: I took the full insurance on the car and got the antenna of the car stollen and it was not covered and had to pay 50 euros extra. Full insurance is not full !
Cons: The person at the desk at the time of collection was pushy in trying to sell me their insurance despite me telling him that I have arranged insurance through Discover cars. Worst was the person who was at the dropoff. He wanted to charge me for a damaged wheel rim which was already there, it was also noted on the form which I showed him, he then apologised but only after me being firm.
Pros: The vehicle was new and clean with a full tank. The airport shuttle driver was friendly and helpful. Not a long wait to pick up the car.
Cons: The airport shuttle pickup location is not readily apparent. The rental agent was friendly and nice, but he tricked me into not getting the highway transponder. At drop off, I then had to pay a €18 fine to Centauro, which I tried to fight them on but they told me it was my fault for not reading the rental agreement in Portuguese. Arguing wasn't worth my time. Also, when I returned the car the agent was very rude and ill-tempered. I'm still waiting for my €100 toll deposit to be returned.

Than ensuring their customers were fully satisfied. Customer services have nevervteally been Portugal's strong point anyway.
Pros: We had an issue with the first car provided to us and the centauro team was quick to help; they gave us a free upgrade and a better car to ensure we didn’t run into future issues.

Cons: The fact that when dropping off the car I didn't receive any indications of the timing, procedure or Centauro address. Therefore I drove to the airport and had to come to the office. Hopefuly I had time. When coming to Lisbon I received an e-mail with indication to reach shuttle bus, the same should have been done for dropping off.
Pros: Very pleasant and apologetic for having to wait for 8 hrs after blowing tire. They had to give us another rental car, which was in better condition and an upgrade from the first. We were told that they will send us a cheque for reimbursement for tolls and gas and implied that they will give us some renumeration for the time we spent waiting for help, after blowing the tire. Hopefully, they will follow through with this.
Cons: Initially, the front desk had diffiulty finding our reservation. It seems that if the car is arranged through a broker, they give you one that is not in the best condion. At lease that's what it seemed like, as the car we were given had numerous dents and tires were very well worn . We blew a tire and had to wait by the Hwy for 8hrs. Finally, they had a taxi take us back to Lisbon( 1 1/2hr drive) to pick up a replacement, which was in a lot better condion and upgrade from the first.

Pros: The woman (Andrea) who handled my reservation was pleasant and spoke good English. But, see why I didn't like the Centauro service. The car came with a VERY LOW AdBlue exhaust fluid additive level, and I had to buy and add exhaust fluid--not a problem to do physically, but the car had diesel exhaust fluid gauge and I spent over an hour on the Internet trying to discern how to determine the level--and reset the warning light. Otherwise, the car was clean and in very good condition.
Cons: They didn't have a car in the classification I reserved--particularly the make and model I reserved. I had to pay additional for an upgrade to get something similar to meet myh needs. HIGH-PRESSURE sales tactics trying to get me to cancel the car reservation and insurance I purchased from Discover Cars and book directly with Centauro--which would have been more expensive. Took almost two hours to get a car to get on the highway to our destination, two hours away. VERY UNHAPPY with the treatment.

Cons: BIG PROBLEM. I paid for a full tank of fuel €73.00 and was told that this would be refunded if I returned the car with a full tank. I did return the car with a full tanks, filling up the same morning in Lagos and topping up at Ecobrent, just round the corner from Centauro. On arrival, we were rushed to the airport shuttle. In answer to my question, I was told that the refunds were processed automatically. The deposit and tool monies were refunded but not the fuel deposit. No reply to my email.

Terrible experience, I am never going with a budget company again as I ended up paying far more than I would have with Sixth or one of those other companies.

We allotted an extra hour of time to make sure we would be timely in catching our flight and we had to SPRINT across the airport and BARELY made our flight because all of the staff members decided to go on break at the same time. Cons: Centauro told us that the additional money we had spent with the Discover Hire service for insurance was useless, and that we pretty much had to purchase an additional $300+ worth additional coverage. We were offered to leave a $1200 deposit as an alternative, but it was made clear that if we choose to do so, we would almost certainly have to pay for some damage, and we would be liable for everything. This complex pricing game is not at all clear.

No good instructions no good signage to find Centuro.

We explained this option was not offered to us. The representative said it was in the terms and conditions we signed. I cannot emphasise enough how upset we are by this.

We wasted 1/2 day of our vacation and were charged a full day for the rental that we didn’t get until 4pm. Female agent was rude and didn’t provide clear explanations. Information on the road tolls would have been appreciated.

Cons: The agency accused me of breaking the windshield and forced me to pay €550 to fix it. It was an absolutely absurd situation, where I had no ability to fight against what they were saying because they were holding €1200 hostage. Centauro is a fraud and a terrible rental agency.

Cons: The staff was incompetent and trying to add more expenses and tricking you to pay more than what you already had reserved and had a budget for. This particular staff was impatient, rude and doing everything he could to have your spend more on fees. He wasn’t helpful to give us the best budget. He would interrupt and get frustruated at any question that you would ask him. Was not a pleasant experience and will never go back to this location in Lisbon. Very poor customer service and unorganized.

A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
There is no maximum age.
A senior driver fee of 5.00 EUR per day, with a maximum of 25.00 EUR per rental applies to drivers above the age of 75.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information. Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle. A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon collecting the vehicle.
It is only possible to pay and leave a deposit using the same card.
If the customer takes the following extra equipment: Toll pass / E-toll device, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: Visa Debit Card, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, MasterCard debit card.
The daily limit on the card used for payment must be high enough to cover the deposit. Otherwise, purchase of the following insurance policy(ies): Super Insurance is mandatory.
Only cards issued in the main driver's name are accepted.
Maestro, American Express, Cash, Diners, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, France, Spain-Mainland.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Using a ferry is not allowed.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.
Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.
It is allowed to add up to 3 additional drivers.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 0 minutes.
