Tangerine Rent A Car at Lisbon Airport

Pros: Honest and friendliness of the people. Also the car was ok.

Cons: The pick up speed. Took us more than 2h to get the car

Pros: very good

Cons: all good

Pros: The staff was great. Adriana was so helpful when we had issues with the payment method, and everything went smoothly. Highly recommended!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Car rental charged us for small scratch on thw wheel rim 191 euro.

Pros: Some unknown charges without explanation

Cons: below average

Pros: Quick pickup and good service at their office. Value was really affordable compared to competitors

Cons: Not applicable

Cons: Hostile team , very bad service

Pros: When we left

Cons: The agents at Tangerine, it feels like a scam from when you walk in

Pros: Price

Cons: Took a long time to pick up car due to line of customers.

Pros: The people were friendly.

Cons: Two things that stood out. 1) The car should have been full with fuel to start with but it wasn't so that was a bit of an issue to get the car to the same fuel level at the drop off. 2) The pick-up time was quick but the wait for the pick-up took like forever. It could be due to the attention they give to each client which is appreciated - maybe number of attendants can be increased if there seems to be a long waiting or at least have a token system so the clients are aware.

Pros: Customer service was great.

Cons: We don’t mind a car having high km; what concerns us is the maintenance. The car provided had a loose underbody component (at the drop-off they said that they knew it, OMG), the windshield wipers were very noisy and needed replacement, and we also experienced low coolant warnings along with other system malfunctions. Also the brakes feels spongy, probably needing a fluid change.

Pros: Agent at pickup spot. Quick trip to outside facility. Cars in good condition.

Cons: Very disappointing. At pickup, the employee did not properly inspect the car with me and said that small scratches and marks were “not a problem.” The car stayed parked at hotel parking lots the entire trip and there was no incident whatsoever. At return, they inspected every inch of vehicle and charged €191 for minor wheel cover scratch not recorded in my video. It felt like an intentional money grab. I’d strongly advise people not to rent from this company, and if you do, document every inch.

Pros: Everything went perfect.

Cons: Nothinh.

Pros: Professsional and great car

Pros: Agent helpful and attentive. Answer all questions thoroughly.

Cons: Still can’t figure out the toll charge. It seems higher than what the tolls were.

Pros: They were very helpful in explaining our options. Pick up and drop off we’re both easy.

Cons: The pick up and drop off locations were both difficult to find. The web site has incorrect information about the location of the drop off as do some of the employees.

Pros: I like very much working withh this agency, and the staff there is very helpful and kind

Cons: No comments

Pros: Fantastic Service

Cons: Friendly and Prompt service.

Cons: The car we got didn't have the tank full as we were told. We only noticed as soon as we drove out, and we didn't say nothing to avoid more trouble, but that was very upsetting.

Pros: The staff at Tangerine Lisbon are absolutely hands down the best. Ana is one spectacular employee.

Cons: Not applicable they are awesome

Pros: Great agency that I work with for a while now

Cons: No comments

Pros: Nothing

Cons: The tricked me into using their additional insurance even though I had my owning place. When the showed me the car it had a massive scratch down the side and they I didn’t need to worry about it because I had full coverage. I said I didn’t want their coverage as I had my own but they would not change it … dreadful service never again

Pros: Perfect 👌🏼

Cons: Perfect

Cons: Hiden charges

Pros: Quick and efficient

Cons: I was offered no upgrade. I wanted a Bentley Flying Spur 2026. Or a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge 2026.

Pros: Great value, great service

Cons: N/a

Pros: Friendly service all round. Pick up was quite slow due to need to adjust something in my reservation but all went well overall. No surprises in terms of actual price paid vs. price booked. No aggressive upselling of insurance though it was recommended.

Pros: The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The car was an upgrade and in very good condition.

Cons: It is a very high deposit to rent the car and you don't know final fees for a number of weeks after the return. In fairness, this may be due to the length of time they receive the cost of tolls, but the unknown aspect of what you may or may not be charged after the fact is disconcerting.

Cons: I am used to car rental companies providing a higher-category vehicle at the time of contract signing at no additional cost. This has happened to me several times in the U.S. and also at Lisbon Airport. On Tuesday, 23 December, the employee informed me that I would be given a higher-category vehicle. Based on previous experience, I nodded, as no extra cost had ever applied. However, today I discovered an additional charge of €73.80 for the upgrade. PLEASE SEE COMPLAINT CONCLUSION BELOW.

Pros: Friendliness of stuff.

Pros: Great service. Got given a brand new car and at an incredible cheep price

Cons: Nothing

Pros: very helpful and courteous

Pros: They were great but discover car was not

Cons: We returned the car 4 days early and would have liked to see some sort of refund.

Pros: Busy place. Easy to find on return.

Pros: Miguel was super professional, explained everything clearly and was friendly and welcoming. Nunu helped set up the car bluetooth and gave us good tips about the car. felt like a great team in the office and also the meet and greet person at the airport.

Cons: the pick-up access / exit felt a bit of a tight squeeze.

Pros: Fast procedures, cheap full coverage

Pros: Helpful agent. Quick drop off service.

Cons: At pick-up, agent did not want to mark all the damage that we saw on the car.

Pros: The driver that picked us up and drop us off was very friendly and helpful

Cons: Very disappointed that I have to wait for two hours to pick up the car. Absolutely shambles and unprofessional

Pros: Easy drop off

Cons: Information provided at pick up

Pros: I do not recommend Tangerine

Cons: really poor explanations when I pick up the car concerning the tax motor way and what should be paid directly and block on my credit card It takes a lot of times to have the car No explanations provided for passing the check point for the tax moto way when returning the car, no confirmation received by e-mail that all was fine and guarantee was released on my credit card. I will wait for the details of the expense tax details to verify that the forfait was not paid too much and hope to receiv

Pros: The representative at the drop off was nice.

Cons: What I mentioned above

Cons: car significant scratches and chips on the car

Pros: Trustful and efficient

Pros: We had the pleasure of being received by Goncalo who was helpful and made the pickup seamless. He was also present on drop off and asked about the trip having remembered the pickup. Great customer service.

Pros: As I was first in the transport to the pick up station, as we arrive at the station and everyone left the van before me and therefore got to the counters first. I was Impressed by the van driver, as He explained the people that got to the counter before me that I was first. I wasn't expecting that, so hands up for the young man for putting order to the all situation and organisation. Well impressed. In all my years never seen anything like it. So respect to tangerine staff.

Cons: Nothing to note. I understand that it's their job offer us all the extras that they do, like the insurance, so I've listened and at no point felt pushed in any way. It's part of their job. And they do it well. It's a matter of yes or no and that was that.

Pros: Good car

Cons: Charged me an extra day when they told me I could bring car until 8pm and warned me if I would do more than 2000km I would need to lose 1 day vacation for oil change

Cons: The person at TANGERINE was very PUSHY and scared us about buying extra insurance, even though we had full insurance with Discover Cars

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Waited 90 minutes to pick up the car. Huge queue and not enough staff. Hard sell to buy CDW after long wait was NOT appreciated. Car was inspected in low light of underground car park, making it very difficult to see any existing damage before hire. World not use Tangerine again.

Pros: Agent quite helpful Vehicle quality good Affordable rates

Cons: Not at collection at time or place agreed Car not ready for collection Inspection in poor lighting, car wet Trying to churn my insurance

Pros: Staff were super friendly and helpful

Pros: Reliable car. Very helpful staff.

Cons: Wait time was long in Lisbon

Pros: Friendly staff. Courtesy bus to airport.

Cons: Had to take our extra insurance after paying for full comprehensive through booking.com

Pros: Very nice and friendly at pick up. Polite and informative

Cons: Ordered a 7 seater but really it was a 6.5 seater and no boot space. We had two small kids and had to put their buggy/ stroller on our laps.

Pros: The service was efficient and staffs were very helpful and friendly,

Cons: One area of improvement would be the pick-up time. It is quiet lengthy. There should be a way to reduce the time to process the pick up.

Pros: Helpful people

Pros: Nothing

Cons: They accepted my reservation at a time they would be closed. We had to scramble and get a hotel!

Pros: Really really nice people to deal with

Cons: Nothing

Pros: -they review the existing damage on the car with you, showing what's already there, and will add new pictures and comments if you find additional things

Cons: -everything else -attitude of the staff - most of them get defensive and rude quite quickly -I've dealt with various staff members here, and the last two times, I feel the new/current staff really try to take advantage of customers, charging crazy amounts, not explaining costs, etc. I even had one agent give me her boyfriend's real estate agent card & booklet! -many hidden costs here, don't explain things well -terrible delays in getting needed info for claims -bad customer service=normal here

Cons: Didn’t give a car that was ordered and tried lying about it. Tried overcharging by 80€ Added random requirements to charge more money that were not advertised. Wouldn’t let us return the car at a later hour even though we were entitled to according the contract.

Pros: Staff very friendly

Cons: Upsale on insurance and not honouring 3rd party booking prices

Pros: Agent was helpful

Cons: Quality of the car

Pros: Customer service is the best service I ever received in my entire life. Rafaela the agent was very helpful and she was very professionally. Es um amor de pessoa Rafaela🙏🏽😊☀️

Cons: I was impressed with their ability to make the rental service very easy and affordable.

Pros: The car

Cons: The return was a horrible experience that could have been easy with a few signs. The main entrance to the lot was closed and a sign pointed toward the corner, Seeing a lot I went straight ,then could only go down multiple levels until I hit bottom, Coming back up after wasting 15 min I noticed Tangerine to the left of the exit---but no sign. The check-in staff took forever and we had to leave before they finished. I have called and emailed asking for a final bill. 14 days later-nothing.

Pros: QA TEST

Cons: QA TEST

Pros: Drop off was quick.

Cons: Too slow and overly aggressive in pushing their insurance.

Cons: I do not understand the charges and think I have been overcharged by over 400%

Pros: Friendly staff, great value

Cons: Could do with two mini buses to take people to/from airport to office location.

Pros: Good quality high spec car, Ford Focus SW, clean with low mileage and very competitive price. Efficient engine, 5.8l/100km.

Cons: A bit difficult to find representative at Lisbon Airport. A bit too much insurance sales pitch.

Pros: Pleasant guy helping us but obviously made to upsell the insurance and anything which would get more money out of you

Cons: Being ripped off

Pros: no representative at the airport/ very hard to find

Cons: Overcharged for insurance when we had already paid for the top insurance

Pros: Nice office.

Cons: Was upsold under the pretence of being helpful and the offer for the upgrade to slightly bigger car was initially 3 times the original rental price. Offer quickly dropped by 70% which shows how they try to trick you. Even after the steep decline in the upgrade cost it more than doubled our overall cost. In addition, the car had impact damage and severe scratching that had never been repaired.

Pros: Very friendly and efficient.

Cons: In the reservation we added the full coverage and when we arrived at the pickup we found out that it doesn’t cover everything so we had to add additional funds. However it was worth it and gave us peace of mind. The location is somewhat hard to find but it wasn’t too bad.

Cons: Still unsure if we made the right insurance choice.

Cons: Collection was slow - due to other customers taking a long time to understand what they had to do

Pros: Angelina, at Tangerine, was smart, efficient and Carin.

Pros: The car

Cons: They were not to trust! When we picked up the car they tried to push all sorts of extra costs on us, and became rather unpleasant. They went over the car, but several minor scratches were not marked on the paper, since the Rental agent said they were nothing to care about. When delivering the car, one of these scratches on the wheel were blamed on us. Luckily we filmes the whole car when picking up, so we could proove that it was not our fault. The whole company felt shady!

Pros: I didn't like anything about the service we received from tangerine. It started with needing to take a shuttle from the airport that involved a 30 minute wait with little help.

Cons: Upon arrival to the new location away from the airport we literally spent 3 hours waiting for our car. The staff kept blaming it on someone calling in sick but it was because of poor organization. On top of that we were continously pressured to purchase additional insurance even after purchasing insurance through discovery cars that stated we were covered. I was very upset with this treatment

Pros: Nothing I was lied too

Cons: When I booked the car I was told that it was for 7 passengers and 5 luggage’s and it wasn’t that !!! It only fit 5 passengers and two luggage’s so I had to use taxis for the rest of my family that’s not right to lie because it ruined a lot of my vacation and cost more money I paid for a 7 passengers and 5 luggage’s and that not what i got very disappointed

Pros: The car wasn’t clean when we got it. When we gave back the car they charged us for a scratch on the car that we never Made. I definitely do not recommand this company.

Pros: see above

Pros: The pick up of the vehicle was an absolute monstrosity. We waited over an hour with two little kids, after 9 hours of travel. It was terrible.

Cons: They spent over 30 minutes examining the car for scratches and dents BEFORE I drove it. It was an absolute waste of time and very disappointing.

Cons: Long wait for shuttle Tried to charge us for damage caused by previous user

Cons: The service wasn’t good. We waited at the airport for 1hour and half, calling them continuously to know how long it would take to get us and Gavin always the same answer “the van is arriving”. I know Lisbon and worse case would take them 15 to 20 minutes to arrive if there was traffic! When in the office it took over 1h to get the car, very slow service. The car we got was inferior category then the one we booked and they didn’t show any concern about it.

Pros: I doesn’t have issues withe the car, but when I return the vehicle at the office, I forgot my Sun Glasses and an USB cable in the car, when I came back to the office (literally 5 minutes later), I didn’t find both items anymore!

Pros: No hassle, car was ready for us and what we booked. Plus the agent knew what he/she was doing, straight forward.

Cons: No rep was at the airport for 8am, only showed up around 8:30-8:40

Cons: Huge delay at pick-up due to only one staff member on duty, who was completely overwhelmed and perhaps under qualified. Almost forced to pay the late pick-up fee because of that delay (which was clearly not our fault), but after pressing the agent to come up with a solution, it was done. Would probably give it another try, given the price and quality of car.

Pros: Very good car

Pros: No support after incident. Not respectful nor understanding after.

Cons: Service. Employees were cocky and disrespectful

Cons: Extremely inefficent. Stated the date, time, and details required for the rental car, but yet when we arrived the rental car was not ready, and in fact they told us they did not have a car that met our specifications. While waiting for them to locate and prepare a close fit, we heard several others with the same story in line behind us. Would not recommend.

Pros: Friendly, efficient staff

Cons: N/a

Pros: The car performed ok although not the ordered size

Cons: How much time the rental agents were spending trying to get customers to buy their insurance. We waited hours for our car.

Pros: one way rental

Cons: - car had no reversing camera, which makes parking in Portugal very difficult - windscreen washer fluid was not filled prior to delivery of car. ran out on first day of rental - AdBlue (diesel engine additive) required refilling mid-rental, meaning I had to purchase at my own expense and inconvenience. Currently waiting for reimbursement - damage hidden by previous renter impossible to see in dark conditions of multistory car park pickup location, now likely to be charged to me

Pros: Friendly service reps.

Cons: Took over an hour in a line of 5 people since others also were frustrated over discover cars providing false information.

Pros: Speed of service, quality of service overall, good experience

Cons: I've discovered, after picking up car, that the windshield fluid reservoir was empty.

Pros: Efficiency of the car rental agents.

Cons: Office opens only at 8am. I had to wait 1 hour because my flight reach early in the morning.

Cons: il faut absolument prendre toutes les photos ou un filme de la voiture lors de la prise en charge, c'est très important !!

Pros: They were friendly people.

Cons: The attempts to upsell me to a diesel, then to an automatic, to add insurance coverage already paid for through Discover Cars

Pros: The people working there

Cons: No issues

Pros: Very efficient, staff very helpful

Pros: Brand new car, clean and good service overall a 10

Pros: Very helpful staff

Pros: The car was as indicated in the booking.

Cons: I was charged an outrageous extra 14€ per day for the toll device via verde, which cost less than 2€ mer month. That was just right after the representative had offered me "an up-sale" for a diesel car for a 31€ more per day.

Pros: price, friendly staff, speed of rental realization, short distance from the airport

Cons: everything was even better than expected

Pros: professional, efficient

Cons: Car assigned to me was not inspected before and needed maintenance. Was assigned a bigger car, NOT my choice.

Pros: 5 star customer service by Bruno (I think that was his name)

Cons: N/A

Pros: I did not even know I rented a csr from Tangerine? I rented it from Discovercars?

Cons: If you have teo companyes working together you should know avout esch other more, specially accepting e-mail from Discovercars. Know I paid doubble price!! Not nice, never agsin!

Pros: Shuttle drivers very personable.

Cons: Amount of time to check-in. Representative seemed to express some stress as well with the process.

Pros: Car was in great condition.

Cons: Pressure to up-sell and get more money from me. Lack of communication about the final toll bill.

Pros: Friendly staff doing their job

Cons: took to long before pick up at airport....

Pros: Friendly and efficient

Cons: Gas tank at pick up was to have been full.bit was, in fact, only about 5/6 th's full.

Pros: Good efficient operation, a little hard to find in busy Moscavide. After a week in the countryside, it was a challenge to drive in the dense city. Also, this time I got the Fiat 500 I had requested. I visit villages and small towns with narrow streets, and want a small car, not an unwanted upgrade.

Cons: Only that they don't have an office in Coimbra. That would be great. Staff are pleasant, and speak excellent English (fortunately for me).

Pros: The shuttle driver was nice

Cons: Pushy and tried too hard to force upgrade. And forced toll transponder at ridiculous prices. The via verde toll transponder rental cost more than the car rental. Crazy prices for renting a toll unit. Never again.

Pros: The shuttle service was kind and courteous and the rental process went very smoothly

Cons: Nothing

Pros: It was fast and the staff were attentive and polite.

Cons: The car had a lot of marks and was a little dirt.

Pros: Very fast check in and out. Nice and efficient staff. Impressed!

Cons: Got an upgrade to a great car last visit. Perhaps that exhausted our luck as we got a somewhat underpowered car this time, which had been around the block a bit!

Pros: Crew in Lisbon were fantastic, I will definitely rent from Tangerine for next time

Pros: Everything was organized and it was easy to understand the terms and conditions of the rental

Cons: I completely understand working hours but since they open at 8 am, I had to dropped the car the day prior

Pros: Very friendly staff

Cons: Everything was tooo good

Pros: Efficient and friendly. Great customer service over the phone as well.

Pros: all good

Cons: the car could have been a bit more cleaner, but good overall

Pros: Excellent service and excellent condition of the car

Cons: No comments here

Pros: Easy to deal with and fast.Location it's very good for airport traveller's.

Cons: Nothing to claim they were polite.

Pros: Nice people, nice car (Fiat 500), great price.

Cons: Tried to upsell me to a much larger car which would have been a disaster on the roads we traveled.

Pros: Fast and efficient with a good price

Cons: High deposit

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: They might need a bit more staff

Pros: Great service - would highly recommend

Pros: We returned the car 4 days earlier and they did not refund us

Pros: Excellent location for renting a car to travel to the South (very near the bridge so very minimal city driving). Shuttle representative in the airport was easy to find. Dropoff experience was good. Car came with built-in GPS.

Cons: Only 2 agents working on pickups despite other employees available nearby, and despite a van-full of renters arriving at a time. Car smelled of smoke despite apparently being nonsmoking. Damage noted by us during our initial inspection that was not noted by staff previously.

Pros: Once we found the desk it was quite easy but still took a bit of time to get the paperwork sorted

Cons: Hard to find the rental office

Pros: Ease of service and affordable

Pros: Friendly and efficient operation ...

Pros: Smooth, effective. The car was almost brand new and clean. It met my expectations

Cons: Credit card safety deposit. Nonetheless, Common to other rental car companies

Cons: Difficult to identify any damage at pickup because car was still dirty even though it had just been washed. The automatic speed control did not work.

Pros: Very profesionnal and courteous

Cons: N/A

Pros: efficient and friendly service, car was excellent quality and cleanliness

Pros: Very friendly and helpful agents.

Pros: Car was very good at a reasonable price, free 2nd driver

Cons: It took 2 hours from transfer to diving away, absolutely chaotic. Talking with someone waiting to drop off they also had a 2 hour wait to collect so not a one off. Dropping off was fine except we added an extra hour just in case. The location of company is hard to find so make you mark it before you leave.

Cons: Tangerine a scammers, be aware! They just took security deposit of 1650€ and return only 1500€, tried to contact them and they continue to ignore all calls and messages

Pros: Friendly and helpful.

Cons: The tread on the tires was really low. They should have been changed. I didn't have a problem until the end of the trip, low tire pressure. The 24 hour assistance number was only provided after I raised questions on pick up about what I should do if I had a tire go out on me.

Pros: the person at the airport, driver and reception were all friendly and helped with the fine details, however we were surprised by additional payments that according the Tangerine were not included, insurance, toll costs etc.

Cons: the person at the airport, driver and reception were all friendly and helped with the fine details, however we were surprised by additional payments that according the Tangerine were not included, insurance, toll costs etc. I left an item inside the vehicle which they are yet to reply if found.

Pros: Customer service was very good

Cons: There was nothing to complain about

Pros: The car was ready to go, check-in was easy, returning the car was easy. Free shuttle to the airport was great. Loved the service!

Pros: Nice clean car

Cons: Unless you are face to face with an agent customer service is non existent. We spent 20 minutes waiting at the airport for the Tangerine rep who just disappeared and every single phone number we called didn't work. When after we returned the car we had concerns about the toll charges and emailed them for am itemized breakdown and no one responded for day. We had to show up in person to handle the matter.

Pros: Great service by Bruno

Pros: This is by far the best car-rental experience I've had. Easy pick up, clean and new car, exactly the car I've booked and friendly staff. I will recommend this place by the experience I've had till now.

Pros: The service was very quick and the representatives did a good job of explaining everything.

Cons: Nothing, everything was good.

Pros: Good service, good price, extended hours, nice people , highly recommended

Cons: I was confused about car insurance , finding location was not easy

Pros: Tangerine did a great job, price was excellent, car was excellent, staff excellent Just be advised getting back to airport could be up to 30-40 minutes if you aren’t first on the shuttle

Pros: Every part of the experience was great and smooth and we saved a lot of money over booking with an in terminal company.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Car was new and good value. We were late to the drop off but the team kindly got us to the airport as quickly as possible

Cons: Wait for pick up was longer than expected and it was not clear where to wait at the airport

Pros: The pickup was very good but took some time as rental office was busy. Friendly and efficient.

Cons: The only negative was drop off at offsite location - people should know to leave at least 30-40 minutes extra. Also did not appreciate being dropped at arrivals vs departures.

Pros: The shuttle service from airport was quick.

Cons: The attendant tried to get me to pay for additional coverage, after I had already shared and showed that I had paid for full coverage with the online company (Discover cars). She tried to disclose that the online company was third party and that paying for full insurance with Tangerine (in addition to what I had already paid) would help make any potential incident reporting more secured. I didn't buy the EXTRA insurance... Please don't over charge clients. All worked out great in the end.

Pros: Best prices, very good car. ,for us it was a great experience

Pros: The car was a nice car, clean

Cons: Had to wait ages on the free shuttle service to collect us from the airport and we had a three month old baby which wasn’t ideal Had to install the isofix and the car seat ourselves staff were absolutely useless the car seat they provided was too big No one done a walk round with us so my husband took a video of the car and any damage There were scuffs on the front right alloy When we returned car they tried to charge us for the damage but luckily my husband had it on video BE WARY

Pros: I liked the car and I liked tangerine. I didn’t like discover car - wouldn’t use you again
