Pros: Handing in the car was efficient although finding the car rental return entrance was problematic as not very clearly signposted
Cons: Wasn’t provided the car booked and there was no one at the Thrifty desk when we went to pick up the car. A Hertz rep did the paperwork but was not sympathetic when we complained that we had not got what we had booked. She said all they’ve got is the Mitsubishi Spacemen, unless I paid another 28 euros per day

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1300.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax.

Many highways in Portugal are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads.
You’ll be charged a service fee of1.85 EUR day up to a maximum of 18.50 EUR rental in addition to the tolls, which will be charged to your credit card after the rental period.
You may also be required to leave an additional deposit for tolls.
