Pros: It was efficient and counter staff were polite

Pros: The young man directing me to the car was excellent. He set up the car so commands etc. were in English. Had problems using Android Auto and he helped. I was expecting issues when returning the car but it went very well.

Cons: Initial contact. I just walked in and didn't realize there was a queue system. I walked up to the desk and got sent back to get a ticket. I was the only one in the office. When I mentioned it is not the car I booked I was told take it or leave it. I just accepted it. This did not spoil my experience.

Pros: Car was good, good price too. Drop-off very smooth.

Cons: Pick-up service was poor. Many errors in my personal details and I was told the car was black. Spent ages looking for it in the car park before another staff member told me it was white.

Cons: The pick up of the car was a very bad experience. The check in system does not work properly, it took me 45 minutes from entering my details, people who entered after me were called before me. But the agent checking me in was aggressive, hostile and intimidating, as were some of the other agents (I listened to other exchanges). The agent did not like that I would not take full protection, he offered my a crazy inflated price for this option and I refused and he got really mad.

This is always a discussion. 2. the deposit mentioned in the contract was 1600 €, which is already high. But they even charged my credit card for over 1904 €. Why do I have a contract over 1600 € when they don't care about it, and charge me 1750 € deposit + 154 € for fuelling. I don't like this way of acting.

Cons: Upon arriving at your Faro Airport office, I was welcomed in a very unfriendly and unprofessional manner. The attitude of the staff members -Mr Arthur (who refused to give me his full name), was rude, unhelpful, and I strongly felt that I was not treated as a valued customer. Hardly any explanations were given, my questions were answered abruptly, and the overall communication was unpleasant. As a loyal customer, I expect at least a respectful, professional, and customer-oriented approach.

They appear cheaper at first but once you factor in the predatory behaviour of hidden fees and lies to retain deposits they are far more expensive. In addition to this the car had an engine warning light at pick-up which again, was not disclosed to me.

Hugo was courteous and professional in his dealings and despite the many hundreds of people he sees on a weekly basis, remembered me and our Benfica chat. Great service.

If it wasn't for it being late at night and Goldcars system going down we would've refused the car but our options on doing this would have meant waiting for hours due to the queue of other customers and the system being down. We rented a convertible and paid a premium for it. As stated above the car was old, having 116,000 km on the clock.

They did not accept my Amex card as a deposit and took the money from my account even though I had paid extra for the full insurance protection. Cons: The condition of the car...a lot of damage to the exterior and the car key provided did not have a remote control...had to manually lock and unlock the car. I imagine the original key fob was missing, but I can only assume this.

Pros: Car relatively new.

Cons: Payment machines not working so caused delay to getting car (took 45 mins). Agent pushed hard for excess insurance via gold car despite already having purchased via Discover - this was totally unnecessary

Cons: They blocked a lot of money on my credit card: 1200€ deposit for a Citroën C3 + 137€ deposit for possibly using toll highways by me + 150€ deposit for petrol. And when I go to the airport for drop off the car, the petrol was almost empty and I filled it up for 50€ !!! So why they take 150€ !!! deposit for petrol then!!! So all together they block 1487€ on my credit card !!!

Pros: On return, the agent falsely accused me of damafing the car. I had to get a second agent to look up the recirds tgat shoed i was correct. The first agent was extremely rudw and did not apologise when she was shown to be utterly wrong. A truly horrible experience.
