Cons: It was not transparent, they told us the amount to pay ,and only on the email I saw for what we paid.at the end there were 1480 euro as deposit, for me everyrhing was to fast. But we had no Problem, and we will get the deposit back

Cons: Credit card didn’t work on machine, agent would not allow manual input by using card number, insisted on using my debit card and on me paying over €200 extra for full insurance. Ridiculous, manual input used in other rental companies over the years.

Cons: Upon arriving at your Faro Airport office, I was welcomed in a very unfriendly and unprofessional manner. The attitude of the staff members -Mr Arthur (who refused to give me his full name), was rude, unhelpful, and I strongly felt that I was not treated as a valued customer. Hardly any explanations were given, my questions were answered abruptly, and the overall communication was unpleasant. As a loyal customer, I expect at least a respectful, professional, and customer-oriented approach.

Cons: They upgraded my car without consent, and when I went back to question them on it they stated I had already signed my name (on an empty screen which stated nothing about the contract) and refused to change anything. They appear cheaper at first but once you factor in the predatory behaviour of hidden fees and lies to retain deposits they are far more expensive. In addition to this the car had an engine warning light at pick-up which again, was not disclosed to me.

Pros: Hugo, the kind staff member (Faro airport) who showed me the vehicle on arrival, also happened to be the person on duty when I returned the vehicle. Hugo was courteous and professional in his dealings and despite the many hundreds of people he sees on a weekly basis, remembered me and our Benfica chat. Great service.

An agent ignored obvious defects when creating the check-out report that we had to point out to them. On the other hand, they inspected every inch of the car on the return. Unsurprisingly, they found some scratches not included in the check-out report in different improbable places and were seemingly happy with that. Do not rent from them without insuring your excess.

Cons: Rude personnel at the reception. The car was dirty, smelling of smoke, in bad conditions externally and mechanically. I won t rent with them nomore

Cons: Advertise good hire price but bump you when you get home, Didn’t check the vehicle back in with us on return and were told everything ok and drop keys in box only to find out 15 days later they’ve charged us for damage to a wheel trim, sent a cropped photo of the wheel could be any car, the car was covered in scratches and dents including wheel trims. I photographed and made a video on pick up but unless they send the correct photo I can’t check it out properly .

Pros: The car I paid to hire wasn't provided. The replacement car had no SatNav! A big problem for being a tourist on holiday! Also, I was led to believe from the booking it was £8, then £30 for full cover. When I picked up the car Goldcar said I would need to pay a £1,500 deposit, which I didn't have so I had to pay £150 for their cover so I didn't have to pay the £1,500 deposit!

Cons: Due to delayed flights I missed my collection time. As the phone numbers supplied by Discovercars were non operative I was unable to contact the supplier to advise. The supplier was closed when I landed. When I called to pick up first thing the following morning my booking was no longer available and was obliged to take more expensive car on a new booking. I consider that we were let down by poor service from Discovercars and equally poor understanding by Goldcar.

Pros: The rental seemed cheaper initially, but I was ultimately pressured into purchasing Goldcar’s full coverage after being told they would not accept third-party coverage. It felt deceptive and left me with no real choice.

Cons: The check-in agent was dismissive of my voucher, displaying an aggressive attitude that made it clear their priority was selling Goldcar’s own coverage—likely to secure their commission.

Pros: Swift service, conveniently located at the airport terminal, great price.

Cons: They take deposits for car, tolls and petrol and they don't refund these too quickly.

Cons: Car could be in better condition, tyre warning light cam on after 1st drive and maintenance light also came on.

Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cons: I didn’t like the cost of car seats for the children and then the insurance costs are astronomical! If I come again I would consider buying a car.

Cons: The manner of the staff was terrible, they wouldn't accept the insurance already purchased, they wouldn't assist with installing the child seat, the car when receiving it had so many scratches and damage done to it.

Pros: Handy at the airport

Cons: I did not like that the time was not given to check the car overall when picking it up and although I had an early departure time (7.30am) I did not like that I had to drop the keys in a box even thought there where people on site who could have gone over and check the car before I left. I feel an advantage has been taken in this situation as I could have shown proof of this damage on the spot and there would be no confusion to this claim.
