Cons: We were delayed in our flight to our holiday destination. We were given a different car even though we had put a deposit on a specific car. The alternative car was not the size we requested. It also had faults with it and the reps wanted to charge us for every kind of add on that they could find.

On the paragraph "not accepted " only written another card than the Booking one ! WE were tired and stuck AT the airport didnt have the choice to pay the full insurance instead of the 1500€ deposit! Cons: We got instrucktions to park the car at Park1 when We returned. But after 10days We forgot. So We drove to pickup point. That would be esayer to have samt pickup and dropoff point. There is so mutch to remeber whith all the roules to hire and trafic so its confusing. And We would not have to pay extra fore parkingticket just for Driving the car back in one peace!
Cons: Scammed us into paying for a tiny bit of underside damage not recorded on the original rental. We did not cause this damage. Also provided an illegal and unsafe car seat which we had to ask to be replaced

Cons: We were kept waiting for over an hour due to inefficiency of million car hire. Attendant had to leave the airport on foot to collect the cars for us and the two customers ahead of me in the queue. We did not receive an apology for the wait time and the attendent had the audacity to charge us 40 euros for his services after 8 pm. Given i had two small children with me i had little choice but to pay. I will actively discourage anyone from doing business with million car hire or discovery cars.

Cons: I was charged 120 euros for a totally insignificant damage. While I acknowledge that technically I did a damage, it is 2 times 2 square millimeters in the lower part of the plastic bumper, completely superficial, with no esthetic or functional consequence. I believe that customers should not be charged at all for such minor and insignificant issues. The company is not called MillionCarHire, but Local Cars.

Cons: While the rental was great value, the price reflected the condition of the vehicle; there were a number of s ratches over the car, and during the rental I got a dash warning for low coolant and a 'Service Now' warning. The coolant warning I resolved by topping up the coolant. The service was down to the agent to solve.

Cons: There were a lot of minor scratches on the car at collection that weren't already shown on the document so I had to take photos and get the agent to come and check those off before I was able to take the car away. The agent was extremely busy at collection and I had to wait an hour before he was available. At busy times there has to be more than one agent.

Cons: Whenever we picked the car up it was very slow as the car wasn’t there, we waited 30 mins with small children for another representative to bring the car. When returning the car they tried to charge us €50 for sand being on the floor of the car. The agent called Alex said that it was in the small print of the contract that you can’t leave it back with sand in it. We were in Faro which is beachside city. I had to take the car to a petrol station beside the airport and hoover it out.

Cons: -10 days after I drop-off the car, the guarantee (1500 euro) still not refund, even everything was ok when drop-off the car ☹️ -very difficult to find "Million Car Hire" în Faro Airport, in fact is called " Local Cars Algarve " - front seats dirty when pick-up the car ☹️ - high milleage car (almost 90k kms) - you have to drop off the car 15 mins before target time (not earlyer ), or they will ask you to pay the parking ticket ☹️

I am not exaggerating when I say it had about 10 grains of sand in the footwell of the back seat. Refused to pay and result in long deal at airport. Cons: After completing paper work you have to wait for the rep to go off sight to collect the vehicle which I’ve never experienced before rakes about 10 minutes. Another first was being told to make sure it’s clean before returning or it’ll cost £50 ! Yes a lot cheaper to do it yourself but when holidaying in the algarve sand in the boot and footwell is a given! Other companies used over the years have never given a warning like this before (must be a new thing?)

He wasn't rude, he just wasn't very courteous. The car had more damage than was marked down on the sheet but we took pictures and made him aware and these were added without any problems.

Cons: Had to wait outside in the heat while the consultant argued with customers before me in line, the car was an Opel not a Mercedes (huge difference I could of rented much cheaper elsewhere had I known it would be this brand) the car was damaged all over the engine management light was on, the brake pads were metal on metal and when I told the assistant he tried to fob me off that it was the bake pad wear indicator (I own a car dealership so the wrong person to try and bulli$#|t).

Cons: Threatened to fine us €50 euros if there was a grain of sand in the car on return. Threatened to fine us €30 if we returned the car 1 minute earlier than the stated return time. I have never been issued with these threats despite rental cars regularly around the world for over 10 years.

Cons: When we collected we were told we had to return the car before 8.30am or there would be an additional 30euro charge. We returned it early at 8.00am as requested and they then said oh no you’ve returned it before 8.30 and have to pay 30euros. We had a flight to catch and had no time to argue about how ridiculous it was to charge for returning the car early. I also had full insurance and they made me hold 3000euros on my credit card. Not a good experience at all.

They have agreed to refund it but they should have checked their rental agreement before charging my card!

In return of the vehicle we were immediately accused of breaking the window catches which we had assumed had already been picked up before we took the car. We were told we would have to pay which was confusing for us as we hadn’t done it in the first place and also we had paid premium insurance to cover everything that potentially got damaged on the car! Not sure if that insurance was really worth it?

This would speed up the pick up process by about 80%. Very frustrating waiting in the heat and having to repeat information.

Pros: The car was unsafe. It had holes in the passengers seats footwells. I believe it’s where tools are stored. They were broken and the plastic was jutting out and could have caused serious harm. The holes were visible and a carpet was thrown over them to disguise the holes. We got our feet caught in these every time we sat in the back.
Cons: Our flight was delayed by 4 hours as there was an incident on the runway. We telephoned Discover hire and Sent them 2 emails to that effect. The message was not passed onto Portugal staff. On arrival the staff were rude and unhelpful! Not sympathetic at the fact of the reason for our delay but kept badgering on about how inconvenient it was for them to come back to the airport with the car. I was told, The agent had to wake up 4 people so we could get our car! He was rude throughout

The representatives wouldn't fit the car seats in for us. - unprofessional service in every way - they asked for an arbitrary payment for scratches which we disputed - how can this be professional??
Cons: Returns. When the agent went to inspect the car he approached it from the drivers side. Instead of opening the car which would have been normal, he went straight to the passenger side and before looking anywhere else pointed out some small surface marks on the panel above the door. It was obvious he was aware of these. The marks could not have been made without either damaging the wing mirror or roof. How many others have been charged 500 Euro for the same marks?

Cons: Booking was for a Mercedes, appreciate the small print says or equivalent but still a little disappointing with the VW. After filling in the initial paperwork I was disappointed that the staff member had to then go offsite to pick up the vehicle.
