EPI Rent a Car at Faro Airport

Pros: Smooth pickup and dropoff. Perfectly clean car (brand new) and fully tanked. Thank you for the tips about fueling and driving.

Cons: Even with the comments, we were a little bit unsecure waiting on P4 (not sure how the van that would come and pick us up looked like, and there were so many vans... Maybe a picture on the description would help)

Pros: A really big surprise, how efficient and friendly and helpful. No stressful sales pitch, or unnecessary discussions. The ladies at the desk on the night of my arrival and the day of departure couldn’t have been nicer.

Pros: The staff at the collection point gave me a choice of vehicle, something I have never had before. Gave me keys of two cars to check which my mobility scooter fit in the easiest.

Cons: Spent quite a while at the meeting point on the car park awaiting the transfer shuttle bus. Along with a German couple I was concerned about the delay and had to call the office to check they had not forgotten us. Realise having a rep on the car park is costly but would reassure clients that they were being dealt with.

Pros: The customer service is great 👍 the office is 5 mins from the airport by bus. The Volkswagon Polo we rented was nearly new and there was very little fuss over marks and damage which was refreshing. Overall a great price, a great service and friendly sraff.

Cons: In an emergency, the representatives were slow and ineffective to send me service, initially assuring me it would take no more than 45 minutes to send a tow truck and a taxi and taking over 4 hours. I had to sit in the street during this time as the air conditioning unit in the car was broken. On multiple occasions I was yelled at for expressing mild frustration with the long wait and was blamed for causing the breakdown of the car, despite the car also refusing to start earlier in the morning.

Cons: I arranged to drop off the car at Lisbon airport between 8:30 and 9am on Sunday morning. The guy meeting me did not arrive until 9 which was OK as I had plenty of time before my flight but I spent about 15 minutes calling all the 6 numbers at Faro and Lisbon trying to find out what was happening with no answers which was a little stressful!

Cons: They were busy and tired when I arrived. I waited 1 hour to be picked up.They offered me a bigger can than the one I ordered but I wanted a smaller car. The only one they could give me had done a lot of miles and had lots of bumps, dents and scratches.Then two minutes later they gave a newer car the same as I was having to other customers even though I had been there for over two hours.

Cons: Did not appreciate the attempt to charge me for an out of hours collection - I waited 10 mins for pick up which pushed collection into out of hours. EPI supplied a car that would not reverse up a hill and the drivers side window would not wind up consistently. They refused to deliver a replacement car instead requiring me to drive 3 hours round trip without a guarantee of a replacement that would operate as expected. The Algarve is very hilly, not reversing up a hill is dangerous here.

Pros: The service overall was good but the 35 euros that was charged for an early drop off was a rip-off (You must be aware of how many early flights there are ) the driver was rude and he just watched me load my cases on the van which at 74 years old was difficult. If he had done his job and arranged the luggage properly he could have fitted a family of 4 (who were waiting before us) in the vehicle instead he made a separate journey which made us all late checking in at the airport.

The woman who all of the issues and sorted all of the matters out after we were forced to rent for one day less due to airline schedule changes. Pros: Really please with communication as I was able to contact them on Whatsapp to let them know our flight was delayed. Other than that, as expected, quick, smooth and efficient pick-up and drop-off.

Cons: One big issue we did not notice until it started raining heavily: the windscreen wiper on the driver side seemed to be completely worn and was barely wiping any of the water away so I had to drive with limited visibility which luckily was all good in the end despite being dangerous. Please double check the wipers on all your cars before handing them out to customers, especially in a place where it rarely rains as they don't get used so much! Other than that, happy with EPI :)

Pros: We hired 2 cars, good value for money and the cars were fine for what we needed. Clean and basically in good condition, no problems with them.

Cons: Two things; the pick up arrangements at the airport aren't clearly signposted & we had quite a long wait on arrival. Although we paid the same price for 2 identical cars, one was significantly newer & in better condition overall. A slightly cheaper price for the older one would have been better.

Cons: We were told in an email from EPI that we could have 4 drivers. When we picked the car up, we were told 3 drivers was the maximum. When we mentioned the email, there was no apology at all for providing the wrong information to us. The reception team did not appear to care at all that the wrong information had been provided and simply blamed this on a colleague based at another office. Very poor customer care.

Pros: Really good service, I wanted to avoid a rental company that was not based in the airport terminal however it was very easy to get to the EPI office with a smooth pick-up from Faro airport. The car was brand new and of very good quality. The staff were easy to deal with and I like the way they didn't take a refundable deposit in advance in case of damage. It is very expensive to hire a car these days but EPI offered the best price and the quality was excellent. Would use again.

I should have checked before leaving the rental agency, but there was no manual for the car in the glove compartment, that would have be helpful to have in hand. The drop-off at Lisbon Airport was a hassle as they have not actual physical location at the airport, you have to meet a rep in the parking garage. They are working to get a location but this would have been good to know.

Cons: When given the contract of hire to sign at the pick up desk the diagram of the positions of damage history ie scratches etc was not filled out.This was a worry because all the minor damages could be viewed as my doing on return of the car. When I queried this the guy said he has the master copy of damage in the office. If the co.claimed against me i would have no redress because i signed a false contract.

Pros: Although EPI provided excellent service I think the cost of having to drop the car off half an hour before the office opens is scandalous. This was something to be considered when renting from them in future

Cons: It was difficult to find the bus pickup point at the airport. Not signed within the terminal and we had to ask a few people for directions.

Pros: Attentive employee. Ease of picking up and returning the car.

Pros: Polite and quick

Cons: We weren't huge fans of the car, but it wasn't an issue, just personal preference. The cost of the rental kept jumping up every time we looked at the prices, so i would advise to bite the bullet and opt for this rental as soon as you see a good price!

Pros: Really nice people. Quick administration. Over sized car from what we booked.

Pros: Good car, easy picking up and dropping off. When we returned the car, the shuttle bus had just left to drop someone else off at the airport, so rather than waiting they even took us to the terminal in the same car. Would definitely use them again.

Pros: Honest and helpful and friendly. Just out to get you on the road without trying to sell you all the other money making extras that sometimes comes with hiring a car.

Pros: The whole experience was pain free. I was picked up within a few mins of my stated arrival time, the car was waiting kn me, it took about 10mins in total from arriving at the office to leaving in the car.

Cons: The car was a new car and spotless. The staff were great at pick up and drop off. I had no issues at all. The car had an electronic transponder for the tolls, which save a lot of messing around. You cannot beat the price for a car, EPI were cheap, but really great.

Pros: nothing special tbh

Cons: - the maintenance of the car wasn't done or checked, I had redlights from the moment I drove away that the tires were not balanced (big differences between them btw) - I got an empty tank which is super annoying to receive a car like that, and when I gave back half a tank and asked if they would take that into calculation they said they couldn't. Felt like a rip off - You don't get a receipt confirming you handed back the car without any issues or damages which I find risky.
