Drivalia at Faro Airport

Cons: It’s a rip off scam.

Cons: The whole process from getting out of the airport and getting a car took 2 hours. The shuttle driver was clueless about a simple task. We did not get the car that we paid for. We ordered an automatic and got a manual. The other customers there also did not get the car they ordered. The paperwork was as if I was getting a mortgage and not a car rental. Overall, it was the worst car rental ever.

Pros: I did not get car a selected, not even close category.

Pros: Thorough pre and post inspections so no misunderstandings

Cons: There is no confirmation form from Drivalia to confirm the condition of the car on return which left me a bit worried. However I had the pictures with the car on collection and at the drop off.

Cons: I was quoted £45.04 on emails but then was charged £62.60 (excluding currency charges). It was less than £20 more I know but still cannot understand why they did this.

Pros: The lady driving the minibus from Faro airport to the car hire venue was amazing - super helpful and very kind. She deserves a rise!

Pros: Discovery cards cancelled our reservation in May according to Drivalia and is refusing to give a refund of our deposit. We arrived with young children and no cars and the customer service at Dsicovercars is horrible!

Cons: Drivalia didn't return our warranty of 100 euros for the toll sensor

Cons: The charging of the EUR 100 deposit for toll charges wasn't made clear from the outset.

Cons: Took 50mims to be collected from collection point (from neighbouring car company) Representative at desk tried to oversell the full cover and was playing dumb to what cover we had already purchased with Discover cars (An extra £80).We received the car with no fuel. We filled it up straight away. We assumed it was an empty to empty agreement. On return we were charged for not having enough fuel as it was ‘apparently’ half full when last used. We didn’t take photos (stupidly).

Pros: Waited over an hour for the shuttle service to arrive, which I was then told I had to pay a late fee as the car rental place closed at 2000 hrs. Was also told the fully covered option I had paid for was not recognised and if I wanted to be fully covered I would have to pay an additional 100 euros, plus the 850 euro security deposit. I cancelled the car there and then, completely unsatisfied with the whole process.

Pros: A few miles off site but absolutely worth it. Brand new VW Polo ( Dravalia only use new cars). Quick efficient & friendly service. Good explanation of damage consequence ie what was and wasn't considered reasonable. Return process was just as efficient.

Pros: Everything, the team has some REALLY difficult customers in front of me who hadn't got a clue what they were doing, but dealt with them as best as they could. when it came to my turn the team were very efficient and friendly

Pros: Easy to get the car. Shuttle service was available to take me as soon as zi arrived at the kiosk.

Cons: Difficult to find the car return location. Suggest to offer specific return directions. The location was much farther from the airport than I remembered. When the shuttle driver took me from the airport to the lot, it did not seem as long a drive.

Cons: We rented a baby carseat and that was so warn out that we were worried a out the safety of we had an accident, there were no help with how to use it either.

Cons: There was no orientation to the car, which was more acute considering it was a hybrid. This caused us much grief by not understanding the car gauges. It was not clear on who to call if we had a mechanical issue The counter staff were not overly helpful or friendly. Counter staff were almost hostile when I returned the car and mentioned an issue A clear and concise address for the where the actual car pick-up point would have been very useful as we did not arrive in town at the airport

Pros: Efficient staff, quick collection & drop off process plus a brand new large car!

Cons: Having to get a shuttle bus from the terminal to the rental desk, journey takes about 5 mins

Cons: Poor customer service. Never got to use the car we ordered. Had to use a completely different rental company which delayed our trip significantly. Would not accept mastercard, additional deposit or further insurance. We were not helped in any way. Do not use this company. Still waiting for a response.
