Surprice at Faro Airport

Cons: There were far too many hidden fees that we only discovered at the counter when picking up the car. The car we had reserved in advance was not the same size as the one we received. We had three golf bags and two suitcases, but were given a small car that barely fit us. Additionally, we paid €40 for the option to return the car before 8:00 AM, but we were far from the only ones dropping off cars at that time, which made it feel like nothing more than a money-making scheme.

Pros: When I picked the car up, everything was fine.

Cons: When I returned the car I was scammed out of almost 300 euro for damage I didn’t cause.

Pros: Good car. Good price.

Cons: Spent an hour waiting to return because there was one agent dealing with an angry customer. Too many people were protesting about damage charges. Made me wonder what was going on. Happy my insurance was through Discover Cars.

Pros: Value for money, older car is ok as it was in good condition and still had android mobile. Car drop off was quickish even with 6 people before me.

Cons: 20 minute wait for a shuttle on arrival, 40 minutes to wait for pickup and contract, 8am opening was cutting it fine for my flight, open earlier without charging.

Pros: everything fine; for reimbursement of the damange i was asked a final invoice, hopefully the receipt for payment of 370 we got is sufficient

Cons: Car had 11 listed damage points when picked up and staff managed to find a twelfth in seconds at drop off. Clearly a way of making money by charging unsuspecting clients for damage and then not fixing the damage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Cons: Scammers. Charged me 300€ for miniscule 3mm scratch which was one of 20 imperfections on low quality car. They obviously never repair the car,but keep milking unsuspecting customers. They have a hyper detailed pre rental inspection , listing the dozens of flaws with car..I now realise in retrospect this is to bamboozle customers with litany of problems so who can tell whether my so called damage was not on it previously. Scoundrels.

Cons: We had a check in time 09:50, and were told by Surprice to return car 2 hours before, but when we arrived at 07:30, although there was a girl who could recieve the car, she told me that before 08:00 there would be €40 charge. We waited till 08:00, a major minus point for customer relations.

Cons: I didn’t like what I fet like was a clear attempt to extort money from me when I returned the car by your agent showing me the tiniest mark on the paint work which he said wasn’t there previously. I would have had to pay €280 except I thankfully had a photo of the damage when I picked up the car. So much so I reminded the agent what I said to him when I was picking up the car. I said “god bless your eyesight becuse I can barely see that”. Just take photos of all existing damage

Cons: I had already provided my flight arrival time and no one was there to pick me and others up in the designated area. The car itself was dirty on the outside. The petrol was 1/4 full which meant that I had to stop as soon as I got on the freeway to fill the car up. At one point, the car started to spit out water whilst using the air conditioning. I messaged on the WhatsApp help line and no one got back to me. I will not be booking with Surprice again. Their office is also further away than expect

Pros: Directions to shuttle were clear and precise. Wait time was short. Shuttle bus driver was very nice and helpful. Desk staff were very efficient and clear on all charges. Car was in immaculate condition and I fully understood the rental terms. Price was also very reasonable. I picked surprice because their working hours were later than the other companies but I would definitely go with them again.

Cons: There were so many dents and scratches on the car and on returning the car it took nearly 1 hour because nobody could put the deposit of €1559 back on my credit card so I had to leave my Bank Account details for them to do a bank transfer the next day. I couldn't wait any longer because we would have missed the plane!

Pros: Very efficient and ease of making the booking. Excellent feedback and communication. No pressure with not requiring expensive insurance. My own was accepted. Definitely the best experience and service I have received from a car rental company.

Cons: The car was awful a very old car with very poor lights,high mileage,spongy suspensionand poor bodywork. Rear parcel shelf was held in position with self tapping screws. Not at all what I expected and had to put up with this awful car for 3 weeks!!

Pros: I liked the matter of fact approach and didn't feel like they were looking to get me for something small. Much better than the rating implied, was pleasantly surprised.

Cons: During pickup I spent a lot of time waiting for documents that could've been made available days before. Seemed unnecessary.

I also asked for full tank and it was a 1/4 full and therefore probably lost about 10 Euros. Awaiting email regarding the total cost of Via Verde tolls during our 12 day trip.

Pros: Very helpful. Easy to find and shuttle took just a few mins to arrive. I had messed up and thought I could cover the insurance on my Amex. They worked it out for me so I had to take the full insurance but was still not that expensive, and they were really polite and helpful explaining it all, and even gave me a free upgrade as I was now paying so much more, but it did clearly say no amex on my rental, so was totally my fault, I just hadn't noticed!

Cons: Being there at 7.45am and sitting outside the gates until they "open at 8" did seem a bit churlish. Given the UK flights are all around 10 and 11 am, I'd suggest 7.30 would just get rid of some of those very stressed Brits first thing!

We regularly use Discover Cars to book car hire and are generally very satisfied, however, the price the SurPrice charge for a second driver would have been greater that the entire cost of the car hire contract and therefore we wont be using them again.

Cons: The policy of half full to half full is designed to,rip off the hirer. Please do full to full as was originally agreed when I hired the vehicle on line. Please don't change the rules at the desk.

I was required to pay the total excess on the car via credit card, attempted to pay via debit and was refused repeatedly. was then forced to pay for their insurance, which apparently had to be taken by credit card but they were eventually somehow able to process it on my debit.

I got there early waiting for the office to open when a member of staff opened up and asked us to come in. If I had known that, I would rather have stayed outside the gate. It was a challenge for us to navigate in Portugal!

We felt trapped, away from the airport with only their transfer bus as an option and zero negotiation on the cleaning charge. VERY small print using obscure language, BEWARE! It WAS good value until the charge was slapped on.

They said Discover was a broker and I paid a broker fee, so I chose to purchase insurance again to avoid issues driving in a foreign country. My flight arrived late, so the attendant didn't seem super pleased to be dealing with a check-in. Incredibly difficult to find info late at night for the shuttle to get to the pick-up location. My car seat was soaked because the window was left open.

Différents autres suppléments pas prévus dans le contrat de base - ils savent que nous sommes coincés sur place donc ils tentent d'en profiter. Finalement, nous avons rompu le contrat et avons prix un taxi. Nous avons trouvé un loueur de véhicule à Lagos qui travaille sans carte VISA et donc le prix affiché est le prix réel.

The rep I dealt with in the office was good, but the overall manager was overly short, rude and abrupt with two other clients whilst I was there, and this set a very bad impression.
