Pros: Very easy quick collection and delivery. Only 2 minutes waiting for transfer. Fantastic

Cons: I had to return my car due to alarmlights on the dashboard, towards the end of my rental period. That can happen. Got a nice other one, no problems there. But I put more then plenty of fuel in the car, to return it two days later. However, the lady at the desk, was very insistent, that I had to put again fuel in the second car, in order to get my deposit back. To stay out of trouble, I added for another €25,- on fuel….. Bit of a pity. For the rest I was happy

Cons: There were a few scratches on the car at pick-up that were not noted on the contract. I took photos and told the Centauro employee. I was not held responsible for them, but it's always stressful.
Pros: The attendant Olivia I think her name is was so friendly, efficient and helpful. Had to call help center 2x at Faro and they responded immediately.

Cons: From the beggining the hard try to sell extra inscurance to a huge lack of clear explanation about what I buy in Discover and what they eant to sell, till now, after 10 days finishing the rental and after over 200€ paid to Centauro that I still don´t have a explanation sbout what are the invoices, and also there is no reply on the client support number, is a number without answer... please check Centauro, I truly believe is a steal scheme.

Cons: Takes for ever to do the paper work before you're handed the keys. Paper work process in inefficient. If you're 5th or 6th ion line, you know you're in for an hour!

Cons: Very busy, when I got to counter, told all gps devices broken, and that I should to the nearest shop selling gps devices be in a city I did not know, some contradication. Found centauro representatives not interseted and uncaring.
Pros: Easy to find at the airport and transfer to their premises was efficient. Returning the car and transfer to the airport was quick and efficient.
Cons: Once at the premises it took an hour to get attended to and then I was offered a car that had been returned with damage to the front and rear. I asked if there were other options but apparently not as they didnt have any other vehicles in the group I had booked? I feel that I should have been offered an upgrade rather than have to drive a damaged car for 11 days.
Pros: Excellent new car, quality "Continental" tyres.
Cons: The rep at the arrivals lounge was out of sight with the "Centauro" sign under his arm, invisible! Others had to guide me to the meeting point for the shuttle, in the middle of a car park, unsigned. Long queue to collect the car (90 minutes) though this may be "normal" for the Algarve? Nice car when we got there though.
Pros: Once at the car hire everything was easy
Cons: The pick up from the airport was awful!!!! I’ve never experienced anything like it. Because we were a party of 8 we had to keep waiting for the next minibus. My 80 year old mother was not feeling well after waiting for 1hr and 30mins in the hot sun.
Pros: When you eventually got served the staff were very helpful and friendly. We got a soft top upgrade for having to wait so long.
Cons: We had to wait ages for the minibus transfer to the car rental place which is a pain after a long tiring journey. Then the queue to sort out the paperwork for the car was very long and we had to wait well over an hour to get the car. Not enough minibuses or staff available to deal with everyone.
Cons: We waited over an hour in the middle of a car park in the hot sun with 3 young children for the shuttle bus. We were also charged for extra cover with centauro when we arrived. The money paid for the cover through discovery didn't count in Portugal, they refused to hire us a car unless we paid an extra €176 for smart cover therefore leaving us with no choice as we were already away from the airport. The staff at Centauro were rude and when we asked questions they would laugh at us.
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: The worst rental experience of my life. If you want to be ripped off and have your holiday ruined, use Centauro! It took an hour to get to the office, another hour spent queueing, and then they did their very best to try and con an extra €350 from us, all because they refuse to charge the cost of rental to a debit card and a credit card, like every other company ever. It is in their T+C's which I had read and missed, but the policy is clearly designed to fleece people. We walked out.

Cons: We stood for over 2 hours in Faro airport car park waiting for the shuttle transfer. They were overwhelmed by the number of people waiting and could only fit a few on the bus at a time.
Pros: Straight forward. Able to get. refund on the initial price when I saw it was £150 cheaper .

Cons: We weren’t met by a representative at the airport and spent 20 mins walking around looking for them, we then had to ask random non related people where to go and was sent to an area in the car park, we had to queue over 2 hours for a shuttle bus in the blazing sun which took us on a 15 minute drive to the centauro rental place, we then had to queue for another hour to receive the car, this experience was very stressful and time wasting and at no point did anyone apologise or explain.

Cons: Ripped off with extra insurance would not take any payment on my Portuguese Bank Card! I wanted to pay for the vehicle, Toll transponder, and fuel on my euros card and put the excess on my UK credit card. THIS was refused. Poor Quality Car, not what was reserved. Warning lights on in vehicle and noisy loose exhaust.

Cons: This is the worst experience I have ever had with any car hire company. Like many others I have waited in a hot car park with my wife and children along with 30 other people waiting for the shuttle buses to take us on the 10 minute journey to the Centauro office. Then I stood there in the queue in the sweltering heat and there are possibly 40 people in front of me. What I fail to understand is why Centauro could not hire extra staff to deal with the rush - they obviously knew how many cars

Cons: The 1200 EUR deposit for not purchasing insurance is a complete scam, and they told us the 1.80 EUR toll road fee covered all toll roads, then they charged us for the toll roads anyway.

Cons: The service we received was terrible, even though I purchased excess protection they told me at Centauro that I had to pay extra money otherwise they would take 1500 euros off my card and even if there was a small scratch on the car they would take all the deposit. Everyone in the very long queue was getting this scare mongering treatment also. I would never use this service again and would recommend anyone I come across not to use Centauro.
Cons: Way overpriced with add-ons once we arrived and they put alot of pressure on us to carry insurance. shuttle also only goes to airport..please take me off of your e-mail

A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.
There is no maximum age.
A senior driver fee of 5.00 EUR per day, with a maximum of 25.00 EUR per rental applies to drivers above the age of 75.
The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.
Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.
In order to pick up the car, the renter and each additional driver must present the following documents: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, flight information. Only physical driver's licenses are accepted (not digital versions).
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle. A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon collecting the vehicle.
It is only possible to pay and leave a deposit using the same card.
If the customer takes the following extra equipment: Toll pass / E-toll device, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: Visa Debit Card, MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, MasterCard debit card.
The daily limit on the card used for payment must be high enough to cover the deposit. Otherwise, purchase of the following insurance policy(ies): Super Insurance is mandatory.
Only cards issued in the main driver's name are accepted.
Maestro, American Express, Cash, Diners, Prepaid cards is/are not accepted.
The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Andorra, France, Spain-Mainland.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Using a ferry is not allowed.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.
Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.
All extras are available at the rental counter. Prices vary, depending on the rental period.
It is allowed to add up to 3 additional drivers.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 0 minutes.
