Pros: Very easy and fast pick up and drop off processes. Car was a higher class then I expected after making the reservation. Quite clean and almost new, it was a pleasure to travel.

Cons: Wrong google maps location of the drop off Alamo point on Lisboa Airport. Correct one is Guerin location. Car had dirty windows from the inside. No phone support - once I called helpdesk I heard a record in Portugese, not any alive person or even possibilities of choosing a different language. Didn't receive any support.

Pros: I thought everything went pretty smoothly on both the pick-up and the drop-off.

Cons: Although the rental only indicated there was some damage on the rear bumper, I decided to take pictures on the Alamo lot PRIOR to taking the vehicle of every thing I could see on the car (e.g. some minor scratches, scuffs, marks on the door, etc.) just in case there was any issue on the return. I do this with EVERY car I rent.

Pros: Absolutely nothing. I am repenting the decision to refer Discover cars to my friends

Cons: 1) The car that I was provided was very bad performance wise. The gear box was very hard. I literally injured my wrist trying to change gears. 2) The petrol consumption was extremely high. 3) Alamo did not honour any of the conditions that I signed up to with discovery cars. I had to pay a higher cost towards my remaining pre-payment amount (i paid 118 Euros as opposed to 110 Euros). 4) They even blocked 1000 euros as security deposit as opposed to 300 Euros.

Pros: Getting the car was quick and simple, but the showed fraudulent activities after claiming we had a scratch on the tire rubber and nothing was apparent.

Cons: BEWARE! FRAUD ALERT! you do not rent with Alamo but a partner on-site called Guerin, who claimed there were scratches on the tire and they hold your security deposit. After knowing this and looking online this company is known to have fraudulent like behavior and just make up scratches where there is nothing apparent and keep hold of your security deposit, so not recommend!

Rate includes
Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1476.00), Theft Protection, Airport surcharge, Third Party Liability (TPL), Vehicle registration fee, VAT (value added tax), Free modifications.
Rate excludes
Many highways in mainland Portugal are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads.
There is an additional charge of 2.18 EUR per day for Toll pass / E-toll device.
Personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.
You may also be required to leave an additional deposit for tolls.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 18 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 21.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.

To rent the following vehicle category(ies): Luxury, Premium, Fullsize, Wagons, you must provide the following document(s) at pickup: return flight ticket, 2 credit cards.
In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, return flight ticket.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.

Winter tires are not mandatory in Portugal.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Business hours
In order to have service out of hours, the renter must provide the following information: Flight number.
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 0 minutes.
