Alamo at Faro Airport

Pros: The person who assisted us was very knowledgeable and took the time to help us fill out the required paperwork

Pros: Alamo agents at pick up and drop off office were helpful and professional.

Cons: Car was dented and scratched and full of grass yet nobody did a walk through with me. They just made me take my own photos of car.

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: They need to update the information on the voucher as it stated rental desk is inside the terminal. Its not, its outside.

Pros: Excellent customer service

Cons: The on-line booking system should have prevented booking 2 cars under the same name since this was the sole cause of our problem.

Pros: Return service was quick and smotoh.

Cons: See above. Also, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our car to be ready. Car needed a service and the tyre pressures were a mixture of far too high and low.

Pros: Competitive price.

Cons: The use of Guerin and the lack of paper documents including any existing damage to the vehicle. Customer should not have to wait for an email from Guerin/Alamo in order to check existing damages. I'm unlikely to use the service again.

Pros: Quick hand back

Cons: Self service check in

Pros: Fast and friendly no delays

Cons: All good from our side could have mentioned the small damage at pickup to save us worrying

Pros: Support and friendlyness of staff and speed of service.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Very courteous and efficient

Pros: Friendly and respectful.

Cons: Breakdown cover asked for which upset me the whole trip

Pros: Very easy and fast pick up and drop off processes. Car was a higher class then I expected after making the reservation. Quite clean and almost new, it was a pleasure to travel.

Cons: Wrong google maps location of the drop off Alamo point on Lisboa Airport. Correct one is Guerin location. Car had dirty windows from the inside. No phone support - once I called helpdesk I heard a record in Portugese, not any alive person or even possibilities of choosing a different language. Didn't receive any support.

Pros: We rented via Guerin and they were absolutely solid

Cons: It was all very good and for the first time for me, everything weas excellent

Pros: Quick prompt service from all staff

Cons: Car had a fair amount of damage on pickup

Pros: Everything was excellent- really quick to collect and return

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Service was good

Cons: The Alamo terminal office was closed. There was no sign to say you should go to the desk in the car park. I was surprised that there was no reversing sensor in the car.

Pros: I thought everything went pretty smoothly on both the pick-up and the drop-off.

Cons: Although the rental only indicated there was some damage on the rear bumper, I decided to take pictures on the Alamo lot PRIOR to taking the vehicle of every thing I could see on the car (e.g. some minor scratches, scuffs, marks on the door, etc.) just in case there was any issue on the return. I do this with EVERY car I rent.

Pros: electronic form of checkin and checkout made things very quick and easy

Cons: I was not able to use the link to complete on line check in

Pros: Office was closed when we arrived and very unhelpful the next day

Cons: Office was closed when we arrived and very unhelpful the next day

Pros: I arrived 30 minutes before. They give me car immediatelly.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: I returned the car one day before stablished and they gave me back the money for the day that i didn't use it

Cons: the bills and contract papers were not very clear. I had to use them to request for a refund in the insurance and I had to do a lot of math to understand the numbers.

Pros: Absolutely nothing. I am repenting the decision to refer Discover cars to my friends

Cons: 1) The car that I was provided was very bad performance wise. The gear box was very hard. I literally injured my wrist trying to change gears. 2) The petrol consumption was extremely high. 3) Alamo did not honour any of the conditions that I signed up to with discovery cars. I had to pay a higher cost towards my remaining pre-payment amount (i paid 118 Euros as opposed to 110 Euros). 4) They even blocked 1000 euros as security deposit as opposed to 300 Euros.

Pros: Fast checkout and the ability to fill in details online ahead of car hire date

Pros: None

Cons: The lady who took up our complain at the drop off and the inspu who totally agreed with us that the tyres should have been changed

Pros: New car only 1200 km so perfect

Cons: Car returned at 12 but pappers said 13:06 so much later

Pros: Getting the car was quick and simple, but the showed fraudulent activities after claiming we had a scratch on the tire rubber and nothing was apparent.

Cons: BEWARE! FRAUD ALERT! you do not rent with Alamo but a partner on-site called Guerin, who claimed there were scratches on the tire and they hold your security deposit. After knowing this and looking online this company is known to have fraudulent like behavior and just make up scratches where there is nothing apparent and keep hold of your security deposit, so not recommend!

Pros: As above

Cons: Nothing

Pros: To be recommended

Cons: Nothing

Pros: They were very helpful and quite efficient about the whole process. They also presented all of the information and made sure to keep us informed.

Pros: Very efficient pick up and drop off, the car was brand new and the staff were friendly and helpful - absolutely no hard sell and we were even unexpectedly refunded when we had to return the car early. All in all, a great experience.

Pros: Good vehicle, easy drop off.

Cons: IT issues when picking up vehicle and hard sell on upgrades etc.

Pros: It was very easy to pick up and drop off

Cons: I felt like it ended up being way more expensive than I imagined

Pros: Very little

Cons: We weren’t made aware of an additional deposit that had to be paid on arrival. Lots of other additional add on charges on arrival that you are not made aware of before hand. Wouldn’t recommend for those trying to travel on a budget as the charges and deposits are calculated on arrival.

Pros: Efficient and friendly.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: the speed of return and friendliness of the agent. They didn't try to add extras on.

Cons: the long process in the office picking up the car but this is not unique to Alamo

Pros: Very professional

Pros: Tip cars and service!

Cons: Nothing
