Goldcar at Faro Airport

Pros: Very good rate and friendly staff.

Cons: I paid for full extra insurance when booking, when I picked up the car, Gold Car tried to sell me insurance when I said I already had it they said if anything happened to the vehicle I’d have to go through the broker which is completely understandable but it just sounded a little hostile.

Pros: Always efficient and friendly.

Cons: Car a bit scruffy on outside and whilst fuel gauge indicated full, it dropped a notch within5 miles.

Cons: Staff could be a bit more friendly instead of stern professionalism!

Pros: I received a good service with no complications. I jogas to cross the Spain border and I just thought the price they charge for that was too much. I paid full insurance and in my opinion it must to be included in the price already because the full insurance is a good amount too and it must to cover the crossing borders as well.

Cons: The efficiency. However the post office was full due the holiday time they were working with more people attending, even the boss were attending the customers to facilitate the car’s delivery.

Pros: Friendly staff at faro goldcar. The car was good with inbuilt Google maps and safety assist features

Cons: The car didn't look completely clean on the outside, a tad bit dusty and given that plenty of flights arrive later than 11pm they should have a longer opening time. I had to pay a late pick up fee which is not their fault but that might be nice

Cons: Despite paying extra for cover through discover cars and having the print out stating I do not need to take more cover , the agent still tries for 20 minutes every year to convince me otherwise . They play on language barrier and apply a passive aggressive approach to try and convince you that more money needs to be spent . I thought I had it covered this year as it clearly said on my discover cars print out that I could refuse the upselling but Gold Car agent told me this was wrong

Cons: As it was very busy we had a long wait before picking the car up

Cons: Happy to accept cars with existing bumps and scrapes, but maybe there is another way to manage the process?

Pros: The agent was clear and concise on cars and cover. More importantly there were a few of them so no queuing and fast service (which is what you want on a late flight with two 8 year olds) Deposit back in my account the day after dropping the car. Car was also new hybrid, to fill after 500km was £23. Brilliant Faultless

Cons: One suggestion. Have a note on the internal desk at Faro saying pickup is outside down the ramp. It is confusing when you arrive as the desk looks shut.

Pros: Very poor. They told me that a SUV was the small car tgat they gave me and wouldnt chance it. Instead they tried to upsell me on an actual SUV. Also tried to sell me several other products, all over priced. My daughter booster was also over priced almost 100 euros for 1 week… you could buy 5….

Pros: Le voyant moteur s'est allumé moins de 24h après avoir loué la voiture. Nous avons payé une assurance complète de 164€ pour 5 jours. Même avec cela, j'ai dû leur ramener la voiture jusqu'à l'aéroport pour qu'ils me l'echange, perdre une demi journée de vacances en perdant les activités que nous avions déjà réservées. De plus, j'ai dû payer l'essence et le péage pour leur ramener leur voiture qui a un disfonctionnement (après un mail au service clientèle j'ai récupéré l'argent de l'essence).

Cons: Sur 4 jours et demi de location, nous avons perdu du temps et de l'argent. Je pense que si la voiture du loueur a un problème (en plus en payant une assurance complète) ce n'est pas à nous de payer et prendre du temps pour la leur ramener

Cons: I selected it because it said the desk was in the terminal. It wasn’t. The car was not fully clean. The car developed a warning while we had it and there was no option but to live with it or drive it an hour back to Faro which meant we did a lot less than planned.

Pros: Very good except when I was concerned by warning lights on the dashboard roadside assistance told me I would have to take a taxi all the way back to Faro to pick up a replacement car . I expected that a replacement would be delivered to me

Pros: Very efficient and friendly service for both collection and drop off. I was a little concerned about the size of the deposit however this was cleared from my credit card whilst flying home.

Cons: The actual rental price was much higher than the amount on the Discovercars voucher (€36.8 vs. €10.45). The employee was arrogant, and I was given a smaller car than the one expected. The car's interior was not very clean. Absolute disgrace.

Pros: Very friendly and efficient. Explained the booking and payment procedure and even though there were several customers at the same time they had plenty of staff to deal with collection and returning the vehicle.

Cons: Would’ve liked That a member of staff had taken time to explain about the car as this was our first time renting an electric car.

Cons: The procedure for obtaining a replacement car. I lost half a day sorting out a replacement car. Gold Car should have brought a replacement car to our apartment in Sao Rafael, not the other way round where I had to get a taxi to Faroe Airport to collect a replacement car. Gold Car should have made sure that the car was fit for purpose and that no faults existed when I first collected the car.
