Rent-a-Star at Faro Airport

Pros: FANTASTICO!!!

Pros: Really nice modern car with lots of facilities

Cons: We couldn't find the person and had to call them up to find they were 10 mins drive away, this wasn't in the pickup descriptions. When returning the car we had to call the agent again as the compound gate was locked.

Pros: Very clean, very nice car. Any previous damage clearly and accurately noted on paperwork. This was our first time hiring a car abroad and they explained the process clearly. Very helpful.

Cons: A little late on picking us up from the airport.

Pros: Great value and quality Mercedes cars. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Pick up is not as described, staff do not meet you at the meeting point, you have to phone the central number a request pick up. This resulted in a 15 minute wait but transfer vehicle was immaculate and very comfortable. In comparison drop off was very quick.

Cons: Someone unfamiliar with Faro Airport might find the 1.5km off site nature of pick up be off-putting

Cons: Minor - but the desk is a 6-7min ride from the airport - in a bus they provide however.

Just a suggestion - The booking process did not request a flight number or provide clear direction on what to do if flight delayed - I emailed re delay and flight number to the reservas address on the website but it was not advised to the local Faro office

Cons: First pickup took over half hour, were told it was because we were first time customers so hopefully quicker next time.

Cons: We had to wait a long time for a car when we picked up. This was because they had been so busy that day. They were really kind about it though and apologised and gave us an upgrade so this was not an issue at all. Would still highly recommend. Best car hire company we have ever used.

Cons: A (little) bit of confusion over where to meet in the terminal. Bit of a queue at pick-up as only one member of staff was on duty but she was really friendly and helpfull

Pros: Efficient and upgraded the car to a larger car. The car was very good for room and sem to be very fuel efficient.

Cons: Front tyres nearly worn out and vibrating at motorway speed. They charge extra to wash the car (also, remember that you can do it yourself for €1-2 at a supermarket key wash in 5 mins)

Pros: It was hasselfree. The lady and the persons working at rent-a-star were very professional. I was lucky to get an upgraded car for the same price including free cleaning and pick and drop to FARO airport.

Cons: On return of the car, I was told the card machine didn't work so my nearly £2000 deposit couldn't be returned onto my card. I was told that I would get an email to confirm the return of the money and still nothing (this was over a week ago). The money still hasn't been returned and I'm now not able to get hold of anyone by phone or email.
