SIXT at Faro Airport

Cons: Took forever both on pickup and return. Aggressive selling, leading me to double purchase insurance costing me €200.

Pros: Good service. Explained the policies and offered alternatives.

Cons: The sale of the full insurance was perhaps a bit confusing as additional insurance had been taken from Discovery Cars.

Pros: Return was easy due to purchasing the sixt premium insurance. Did not need to do any checks etc as any damage was included, not that we had any damage.

Cons: Waited for car pickup. Line of people waiting. Unsell of sixt insurance on to of discover cars premium insurance. Discover cars need to sort this unsell insurance with sixt. Dont leave it to the customers to sort out as sixt make you feel like you are not covered.

Cons: I wasnt told about the cost of the second driver at the check in. I simply supplied 2 licenses and was then charged at the end when I handed the car back. It should have been disclosed at the start of the term - it was around 13.5 euros a day. which is more than I would expect.

Pros: Everything went good, but be mindful that there are two sixt facilities in airport area, one near the terminal (the one you want to go) and in the industrial zone near the airport. It's easy to mistake them on the Google maps (we went there from city centre)

Cons: Drop off gate to be more clearly identified as beside valeting gate.

Cons: Price was much higher than same dates last year. I understand it was Easter holiday. I'm a pensioner. I needed to visit family in Portugal, just cos it's holidays doesn't mean the price should be so much higher. I even dropped to a lower level to keep price down . Sorry but I'm unhappy about the Company money grabbing.

Cons: Cheating with extra insurances. Car rental cost 260,50€, but Sixt charged extra 389,20€ (includind 17€ toll service, but rest was for "super insurance": Super top cover 201,19€ / Interior Protection 26,73€ / Tire & Glass 71,50€. I will never use services of Sixt again!

Cons: My experience was extremely disappointing. Despite arriving the day after my scheduled pick-up due to a flight delay, I was reassured by Sixt staff that my car was available, and I would only need to pay a deposit of €617.70, which would be fully refunded. However, upon returning the car, a rental fee was wrongfully deducted, despite having prepaid through DiscoverCars. This was inconsistent with the staff's assurances during pick-up. And the staff was unable to provide any help.

Cons: Baby car seat. At 90 eur per rental it would have been nice for it to come with an isofix. Safer and easier to use ...

Cons: Agent tried to convince me to pre pay fuel adding c.€120 to security deposit, I questioned and he said much better value for me, I refused as always go rent full, return full, why are agents always trying to convince you to take optionals you don’t want🙄

Cons: When we asked the representative if the car had built in satnav he said it did. When we got the car it didn't have it. We were then offered satnav as an extra cost option. Also charged for a toll collecting device and then on return they could not tell me how much in tolls i would be paying.

Lack of full paperwork on-site causing above as full paperwork showed correct area. Also no printed proof at drop off that there was no damage until I said I wasn’t leaving without some. Made the whole rental stressful as I have been charged for fictitious damage 3 weeks later on another car rental with “ paperless” system

Pros: It's the first time I have rented through Sixt and my experience with them has been an absolute disgrace. From pick up to drop off. Even thought I raised a dispute with them they proceeded in taking money from my account without adressing my concerns . I have reported them to the credit card fraud company for illegally taking money out of my account. They still have not replied to my concerns. What a disgrace. This is very upsetting and not a good reflection on Discover Cars.

Cons: We booked a car with baby seat and no one was able to help us install it into the car, this is not the service with expected with the price we paid… in addition the state of this baby seat was very miserable (crumbs and chocolate).

Cons: Manager at the pick up was awful, he included lots of extra services even with no informing or asking, just saying that we are so lucky that now they include fuel charge for the full tank at the check in because this is a present to their clients (what??). He was just trying to cheat us. When he charged the full amount from my card he gave me paper to sign, and I saw there are services like road call service, full tank of fuel etc which made my check twice higher vs what I booked

Cons: Hidden costs, trying to scam me into purchasing ‘full cover’ on top of the full cover. My bill at purchase online came to £261. The SIXT agent by attempted to charge me £990. Then gave me some bogus ‘they’ll fill the tank for me’ offer pointing out how good it was of them to do so, not underlining the fact, they charge for a full, even though I returned it with a 3/4 tank left, and then having the cheek to charge me €80 for the quarter tank. Disgraceful behaviour.

Pros: Easy to book car with English speaking staff

Cons: When I went to the wrong place to return the car I was met by a not so friendly female member of staff telling me that I’m in the wrong place , she make me feel like a naughty school boy. One other negative is to add an additional driver was the same price for the car.

Pros: They were friendly at pick up, but not at drop off after they found out we hadn't purchased insurance from Sixt because we had "full coverage" through DiscoverCars.

Cons: At return when they found out we only had insurance through DiscoverCars and not Sixt, they got a flash lite and looked under the car, washed the windshield to look for chips. We lost our $300 sec deposit because they found a tiny chip in windshield and scratches under bumper. We have yet to be reimbursed since we had "full coverage" insurance through DiscoverCars.

Cons: This rental agent not only overcharges you anytime they can (scratch on a door handle 350€ !) they also tried to charge you 7 days after you deliver the car saying that were damages on the front panel (which they inspect). after my total refusal of any damage they reduce 70% of those charges which I didnt accept because it was a lie. Pros: I’ve had a terrible customer experience bringing back the van we rented. They informed us a luggage cover was missing. Which was true. The issue was that it was never there at the first place. Since it was a big 9 seater van, we never considered it had to be there before we signed off on our rental agreement. We just put our luggage in and drove off. Returning the van this became a big stink. Most likely the persons working there are just doing there jobs, but it felt like a scam….

Pros: The quality and condition of the car, dropping off the car was really easy and without problems, the woman who took it from us was friendly and nice. Also they helped us in Porto to print our fly tickets and we could go to the airport by the SIXT transport, which leaves every 10-15 minutes. Good services!

Cons: In Faro we were surprised by the man who I spoke to in the office, he wanted to give us more services that we ordered before (bigger car, another insurance, etc etc), even though I repeated that we don't need it. It made really bad impression on me and it made me think that I will broke the car somewhere and will have to pay for every little scratch that somebody will did on that car...
