Easirent
Easirent is a rental company primarily based in the United Kingdom. The company is British-owned, but its headquarters are actually located in Dublin, Ireland. It has a second corporate office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the locations it has in the US. It doesn’t have any other locations in the US outside of Florida.
It is easy to confuse Easirent as being affiliated with easyGroup, the company that owns easyJet, easyHotel, easyCar, etc. Eairent and easyGroup are not affiliated, though. Easirent is its own independent company. You can keep the difference between their names straight if you remember that one is spelled with an i and one with a y.
Easirent is owned and operated by the Hanley family from northwest England. They founded the company in 1999. Since then, the company has served more than a million renters in the UK. The company has also helped develop the low-cost rental industry as a whole.
Easirent operates in three different countries: Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The company operates locations at the three largest airports in Ireland: Dublin, Cork, and Shannon. It operates all major airports across the United Kingdom, including all four of the main airports in and around London (Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, and Gatwick).
In the United States, Easirent started in Florida — including in Orlando, the largest rental market in the world. It eventually would go on to have locations across the state, including at all major airports such as Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Tampa, and St. Petersburg. Recently, the company has begun expanding the US part of its operations. It now operates in Texas and North Carolina.
Easirent has a fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles in the UK. Vehicles for rent include small cars, economy, cars, compact cars, standard cars, executive cars (SUVs), and luxury cars. The company has a separate company set up for van rental. Of course, what vehicles are available will vary by location, with those locations serving major airports usually having a large stock of vehicles to choose from than smaller offices in city centers.
The company also has an extensive fleet of vehicles in Florida (and other American locations). This includes economy vehicles, mid-size cars, full-size cars, pickup trucks, luxury sports vehicles, and convertibles. Some locations in Florida have the Tesla Model 3 (Extended Range), too. There is limited availability for it, so make sure to book well in advance if you want to rent one.
In Florida, you have to be at least 21 years old to rent with Easirent. In the UK you must be at least 23 years old. Keep in mind that if you’re under 25 in either of those places, you’ll be charged an additional young driver’s fee.
One issue that causes frustration for many renters is that many rental companies only accept credit cards, particularly when it comes to leaving the security deposit. Luckily, Easirent accepts debit cards both in Florida and the UK. If you’re renting in the UK, though, you’ll have to purchase their comprehensive insurance to be able to use a debit card. In the US, you’ll have to provide evidence of a return flight in order to be able to do so.
