Pros: Excellent price point

Cons: There was issue after issue because my booking couldn’t be found. My surname had been spelt incorrectly between the company we originally booked through and yourselves. I couldn’t download everything needed upon collection so couldn’t collect the car for 24 hours. Then, I didn’t get the car we had specified.

Pros: nothing!!!!!!

Cons: No human contact. Very, very poor customer service. It took over an hour to pickup the rental after waiting an hour for the person in front of us to pick up their rental. I will never use that company again. I forgot my "Blue" Disabled Placard in the car and when I called I was told that there was nothing they could do to return it to me. No customer service at all.

Pros: It was quite seamless and with minimal communication

Cons: I wish there was a better way to notify us about the need to upload documents and find insurance providers. It took 2 hours to sort out insurance and we spent that time waiting in the parking lot.

Pros: Lewis at easirent was helpful

Cons: When we showed up our car wasn’t available. We were told to return at noon for an available car. The time was then changed to two in the afternoon. When we returned only an electric car was available even though we specified an automatic nonelectric car. Finally we were able to get our car an hour after that after being cleaned for a while. They also made us rent the car again through easirent after not being paid by discover cars. Came at 8am left at 4pm

Pros: Graham at the airport was excellent

Cons: We were told shuttle service was available but it was not. Pickup was in a multi storey garage. If we had known, it would have helped finding the car. Deposit on car required an agent to be present or I had to be able to get a text on a phone. The later was not possible. We had spent over 3h so far and still had no car! We then left central Edinburgh and went back to the airport where Graham at Easirent sympathized with us and really helped us out. He was excellent. This took almost another hour

Pros: Harry was helpful- all other staff members were not. Process not explained prior to picking up car, took over 3 hours and 25 phone calls to sort. Horrendous experience, stressful and ruined the start of holiday.

Cons: Payment more expensive than invoice said…will never book or recommend Discovery again. Easirent a bit better - but only because Harry was reassuringly helpful.

Pros: Drop off was straightforward

Cons: There is no desk and the only assistance you can get is from a monitor buzzing someone. The person was unhelpful, there was a lot more paperwork we needed to do that wasn’t aforementioned to us, took around an hour to do this in the car park including uploading various documents with no wifi accessible for us to use. The company had a wifi available but wouldn’t advise us of the password so we needed to use our data and given we are really travelling from oz this was difficult and expensive.

Pros: Dear Discover Cars Team, I thought it was my duty to send you some feedback on my recent rental with Easirent Edinburgh. I hired a car for two days under the booking - DC-1378116 - and the whole experience was totally unacceptable in light of COVID-19. I hope you don't mind what will no doubt be quite a lengthy email- but I really think that their account should be reviewed on public health grounds. I have very little confidence this rental was legal or safe.

Cons: Firstly, the car we rented had not been professionally cleaned prior to us stepping into the vehicle. The agent handed me the diagram of the car and asked me to mark any damage myself- which I'm pretty sure is illegal? I added the damage I saw and handed it back to the agent who did not disclose anything further. The agent told me that I needed to buy additional insurance as "if we drove further than 5 miles in the car, the insurance was invalid because of the governmental advice".

Rate excludes

Mileage policy
Mileage is limited to 100 miles per day.
For rentals of 30 days or more, mileage is limited to 500 miles per week.
For each additional mile an additional charge of 0.30 GBP per mile will apply.

Mileage limitations will apply if the car is to be used for crossing country borders.

Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 25 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 75 years.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in English alphabet.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

Customers not resident in United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, return flight ticket, flight information, International Driving Permit (IDP), boarding pass in order to collect the car.
Renters from the following country(ies): United Kingdom must provide the following documents: 2 proofs of home address (e.g. Utility bill) in order to collect the car. The following document(s): proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill) must not be older than 3 months.
UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.
In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
ID documents must be hard copies; documents held on mobile devices will not be accepted.

A local renter is defined as a renter who lives within 20 miles of the pickup location and who is not flying into town with a return ticket.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon collecting the vehicle.

The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
The deductible/excess amount is from 1500 GBP to 2500 GBP, depending on the car group.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
The credit card must be valid for the following period from the start of the rental: 1 month.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.
The following are accepted methods of payment:Debit cards.
Only International renters are allowed to use the following payment method(s): Debit cards. Additional insurance (Full Damage Waiver (FDW)) must be purchased if using the following payment method(s): Debit cards.
An administrative charge of 5 % will apply for payments made using the following credit card(s): American Express.
Local customers are allowed to rent only if they agree to a credit check and the credit score is positive.
This rule also applies if local customers want to use the following payment method(s): Debit cards.
A local renter is defined as a renter who lives within 20 miles of the pickup location and who is not flying into town with a return ticket.

Cash is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Geographical restrictions
Domestic one-way rentals are possible on request and for an additional charge.
International one-way rentals are not available.

Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.

Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.
Mileage limitations will apply when the car is to be used for crossing country borders.
Cross-border travel is allowed upon previous request and for an additional charge of 125 GBP + 20 GBP per day.
Crossing country borders to Ireland is available for 50 GBP per rental.
Cross-border travel is allowed when pick up has taken place in North Ireland.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

There is a charge of 10 GBP per day per driver.
Spouse is allowed for a decreased charge of 7GBP per day.
Delivery/Collection service is available only by previous request.
Fuel policy
A deposit for a tank of fuel is required upon pick up.
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel, and pre-payment is requested.
If the car is returned with a lesser amount of fuel, a refueling charge of 11.40 GBP will be applied + the cost of the missing fuel. In no case will a refund be given for unused fuel.
Additional information
Please note that the rental company will check for any endorsements or penalties (traffic offenses or penalty points) on renter's driver license and that renter may be refused the car if there have been any in the last 5 years.
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.

Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
If the customer is late for a return for more than 29 minutes, extra day charges will apply, in addition to any other rental charges.
