Easirent at Dublin Airport

Cons: Said it was 1/8 tank full, it had 2.5 ltr 1/20. Asked how far it went on a full tank, they said 500 km, it did close to 1,000. So they got about 50 euros of free petrol from me. Car did not display a valid tax disc. Had to ring them about a parking ticket violation.

Cons: Customer service was appalling, they were so rude and attitude of ah well when i spoke to them. We were also left standing at the airport as the driver picking us up could not be bothered to get out and tell us he was there. Car was disgraceful, No road tax, I was pulled by the Garda two days into my holiday and the wiper blades were all broken and did not clear the windscreen when we had heavy rain Thursday . The fuel cap was missing and dents everywhere. I have photos to prove the car issues.

Pros: Our initial choice for a vehicle was small for all of our luggage. Our agent did indicate this possible issue and when I came back in to let him know, he was prompt in moving us into a larger vehicle.

Along the route I had to replace the car keys battery cause it caused an annoying alarm. The fitted holder for the phone was broken and made terrible noise. The phone constantly fell off and I had to keep it on my knee. This would be the most important feature when driving in an unfamiliar environment. It also would not disconnect to the media nav system

Cons: Rip Off - they didn‘t accept my VISA Card to block the amount for deposit. I offered to take the actual amount out of my account and I offered cash. I had to buy extra insurance for 100€ just for the deposit, which increased the daily rental fee and it went through the roof. This was not clearly stated before confirming the booking.

Cons: The car had no oil in it which was extremely dangerous and unacceptable. The check oil light came on within minutes of leaving the hard to find location. The mechanic who checked it for me was in disbelief as there was literally no oil in the car which shows the car rental company were negligent. Furthermore the tire pressures were off and we ended up stranded with a flat. There was a small nail in the tire that may well have been there when I picked the car up. I had to pay to fix it

Would be best if this was stated in the ticket provided by discovercars early 3. The Volvo V60 we booked was not available. Since “or similar” was stated in the offer page, we were offered a Sangyong!!

He added 3 and said it’ll be fine. I drove the car twice and it was left in a v safe place. When I got back they told me there was damage to the tire and I had to pay for it. The car was in poor condition, oil light on, service light on, rattling a bit - clearly used a lot. I didn’t damage anything on that car. Classic scam.

Cons: Impossible to find “zone 18” at the airport. Shuttle to car rental dirty and driver rude. Offices in a very run down location. Toilet was foul - dirty and there was half eaten food and rubbish stacked up. Had to pay more money at the rental office when we got there in order to not have to leave a £2900 deposit which we felt very uneasy to do as the whole operation felt incredibly dodgy. Dropped the car back early to get rid of it asap and so we didn’t have to use the shuttle, used taxi.

Pros: The quality of the car was excellent and the price was affordable

Cons: Only a slight inconvenience that they are located off site if you are in a massive rush but they are just outside the airport and the shuttle service was quick and easy. You phone the office when you’ve landed and they’ll give you a meeting point. The benefit is that it is a small office and there is no searching for your car in a large car park once you’ve checked in. There is a gas station just 50m away which is convenient.

I chose Easirent because it seemed cost effective, then I was conned into spending 3x what I had expected.

We got a kia SUV that did not fit all of our luggage in the back. One suitcase had to be put in the backseat for the 5 hour drive. Quite uncomfortable.

Cons: The car was dirty with stains all over it, the windshield wipers were falling off and did not work and it rained every day, so we could not see out of the windshield. The brake pedal rubber was gone and so the brake slipped easily with wet shoes. The van was the cheapest most basic model possible, which didn't even have a way to adjust mirrors without pushing by hand. We wasted over 3hrs trying to pick up the car and waiting for it to arrive at our location because it wasn't ready.

Pros: Service rep was quick when picking up the car.

Cons: We thought we were getting a slightly bigger van, but it was basically a smaller 7 seater vehicle. Had to remove the back 2 seats in order to fit 4 golf bags and luggage.

Pros: We didn’t have a plug to use our phone for Maps that fit the car. The agent found one for us to use so we could plug our phone for navigation. The car ran great for two weeks without a problem.

Cons: It is unclear when booking that this service is not one of the Car Rental desks when you land at Dublin Airport. You have to find the Taxi Pickup Point and phone for a minibus shuttle to take you to their office, in an industrial park outside the airport grounds.

Cons: We were unable to contact the rental agency to let them know we had arrived to access the shuttle ride to the rental place.

Pros: After realizing we had placed our reservation for the wrong arrival date, the agents were very accommodating in making the necessary adjustments and providing a similar vehicle.

Pros: They removed tape holding the door handles as they did not work properly as we picked it up and said oh it should be fine. The gears did not work properly and consequently forced us several times to stop.

Cons: The car was provided without first aid kit, safety vests, spare tire, warning triangle. When we asked to the Easirent personnel to receive the missing equipment he said that it was not necessary, that the irish rules don't oblige to have it available and even other rental companies don't make available this equipment. No words to comment this serious disservice that put us in a risky situation in case of accident or check by the police as well as no words for the reply to our legitimate claim

Cons: Though we knew the pickup was not at the airport finding the pickup location and contacting Easirent was not easy. Also was a challenge finding the location at the end. Car had some minor cosmetic damage when we picked it up that we had to show the agent our own pictures of to have him accept that. Didn’t appreciate that. Seems like the maps on the navigation need to be updated and the computer seemed to have. Kind of it’s own. Overall the car was fine.

It's a poor arrangement between agency and provider that created additional paperwork for passengers who’ve been flying all night

When I arrived to pick up the car, they told me I had to book a supplementary assurance, that they didn't recognise the insurance I already booked. In case of damage I would have to do myself all the paper work etc. I hearded discussions with people leaving their car. So to avoid all troubles I took a supplementary expensive assurance. Overall the car did cost me more than with a better rated other company.

Cons: My booking was cancelled and left me stranded and carless because my flight was delayed an hour and I had no way of contacting them letting them know. I was not able to reinstate the booking and was told there were no cars available anymore. I was hung up on when trying to sort this out and 2 of the 3 people I spoke to at Easirent were rude and unhelpful
