I ended up returning the car with more fuel than I started with. --This was an unnecessary cost. The car was well used. It had scratches everywhere, which fundamentally didn't bother me. It does give me concern, as I don't want to get hit for damaging a car when I didn't do it. It just took a little longer picking up the car to make sure all was documented

The 18 Euro charge to cover what may only be a couple of Euros for tolls is arguably a rip off but you have no choice other than sort the tolls yourself which when you're tired from a flight and/or can't be bothered is a no brainer.

Cons: We had a terrible time finding the car rental return place. Using WAZE we entered “Drive On Holidays” and it took us to the HQ on Alameda dos Oceanos. We frantically searched for car rental at Lisboa airport to make it on time. Wish we could have picked up car in Porto Centro district versus having to to take Bolt all the way to Porto airport and then drive back through Porto to head south.

We found it on the floor of the car and we had already passed through the toll gates so we will have to pay at a later date, I hope there won’t be a problem the girl assured us there won’t be. Also, we were pressured by the rental agent to purchase additional top line damage coverage over & above what the Discover site provided at booking, which nearly doubled the cost.

Es ist etwas passiert, was nicht normal ist: Meine Frau hat ihre Brille im Handschuhfach des Autos vergessen und mein Sohn auf dem Rücksitz. Nach dem Abflug von Portugal in die Schweiz bemerkten sie im Flugzeug, dass meine Brille fehlte. Nach der Landung in Genf rief ich bei Drive Holiday an, um zu fragen, ob das Auto an andere Kunden ausgeliefert worden sei, und man bestätigte mir, dass das Auto noch auf dem Gelände stehe.

Cons: Also habe ich nach der Brille gefragt. Die Antwort war, dass sich keine Brille im Auto befand. Also habe ich die Dame am Telefon gefragt, ob ich Ihrem Service wieder vertrauen kann. Das Auto muss gesaugt werden, bevor es an einen anderen Kunden übergeben wird. Normalerweise müssten die Angaben vorhanden sein. Mehr habe ich nicht zu sagen. Mit dem Auto bin ich zufrieden, aber den Leuten, die dort arbeiten, traue ich nicht.

Pros: The car was perfect. Two points that bring down the score: 1. The voucher said to go to the meeting point in the terminal. There was nobody there so we had to call. We were instructed to go to another point. Also, nobody there. We found a man outside the terminal who told us that the shuttle bus was too busy and it would take 30' so it was best to walk to the office, 1 Km further. Not nice when arriving with heavy luggage. 2. Long wait at the check-in. Understaffed to process the many bookings

A few days later we looked and the tire was completely flat with NO SPARE in the car. Taxi sent by DOH took over 2 hours to arrive. Representatives on phone were not sympathetic and did not follow through with requested actions leaving me to deal with an angry taxi driver via the phone

Cons: As ever with rental companies, you buy insurance and still when you go to pick up the car, you are been asked to buy more insurance, and the agent always tries to leave the lmpression you are not insured.

They made me travel almost 300km to get another vehicle, even though I pleaded with them that I had plans that couldn’t be cancelled, however they couldn’t care less. Purchased full insurance from them as I didn’t want any surprise charges and ended up having 1900 euros blocked on my card on top of the 308 euros insurance for 14 days. The staff at Porto airport are friendly and helpful, however telephone operator and company policy makes NO GO ZONE

Pros: The people at Drive On Holidays were just following the instructions of their big bosses regarding our breakdown incident. They weren’t to be faulted. Whoever makes the policies to drive back to where we originally rented the car (2.5 hours each way) is.

Cons: Having to take a taxi from where our car broke down 2.5 hours north back to Porto, pick up a replacement car and drive back to where we broke down and then an additional hour south of there to where our hotel was. The replacement car was fine, but this process ruined a whole day of our trip due to this policy implemented by the big boss.

Pros: Staff was amazing. A big recommendation is to put your flight number into the booking in the event your flight is delayed which is happening often. My flight was supposed to get in at 11:30pm and I didn’t land until 3am and thankfully the amazing staff member was there to pick us up from baggage claim. Otherwise we would’ve had to wait to pick up the car until 8am

Pros: Nothing, I was given 3 different cars and all had engine problems. They were not willing to give me time back. I was there on business smd missed gettings stuff done.

Cons: The car was was very dirty inside, lots of stains in the upholstery. The good thing was that they didn't care if I did extra damage when I returned the car.

Cons: I wish the USB connection for my car worked so I could use my phone's navigation system and keep the battery charged. I think I got the car in the worst shape on the lot.

Cons: The air cordition of the car was not working, i drove almost 3000km with temperatures between 25-40 degrees. The wheels of the car were making noise when i drove between 30-70km/h.

Pros: They were very easy to deal with, quick, professional and very friendly.

Pros: The car was good and the drop off was simple and quick, they even offered to drop us at the airport.

Cons: The pick up was a nightmare, the time spent on each customer was absurd with many desk with 2 agents to handle one customer. There was no complexity for my part and the rental agent spent more than 15 minutes with me just to do the paperwork and deliver the keys... Very old school manual amateur pick up process.

Cons: Price: the deposit they asked for was 2100, so high my credit card allowance was not enough. They put it so high on purpose, to steal you a full policy that is more than the cost of the car. The price for car seats is also pretty high for what they give you.

Cons: very unpleasant and aggressive conversation about the insurance provided by Discover Cars. It was not valid he said.. Wanted me absolutely to pay 180 Euro's for coverage and threatened that my 1500 Euro's would be kept if the car had a scratch (it was full of it when we got it dow...)

Cons: Very very old car, ocver 200,000 kms on the vehicle. Never had such an old vehicle for hire. So worried sabout whether it would break down...... it didn't.

Pros: Knowledgeable, friendly staff. The gentleman that assisted me, went so far as to explain the different toll plazas and billing practices. This helped me decide that paying the 2 euros a day for the toll reader was a good value, since we racked up nearly 90 euros in tolls.

Cons: Pick up process was a bit long, due to several people picking up at the same time and some of them having issues that took longer to resolve.

Pros: Relatively straightforward pick up and drop off

Cons: We got a car with no luggage cover because it had been broken. Very frustrating as part of the point of renting a car is you have a safe place to store your valuables that is out of sight. We had to improvise our own luggage cover. The rental company, rather than doing anything to recognize this inconvenience, merely asked for our itinerary and told us we would be fine based on the places we were headed.

She made us with young child and bags walk 18 minhtes as she claimed that they did not had anyone to collect us from the airport. the car was dirty and there was no water on windscreen. the tires need inflating waited 1h for the car to be delivered at the office. very slow customer services

However, this then accumulated a large group and made the time spent picking up a car a bit frustrating. Especially, when traveling with kids.

Cons: Needed to confront the desk person who accused me of lying as he claimed that the site was maned until 130 am - its true yet we called the office in London and been told that they cant help - very frustrating experience - now we need to claim a refund and and deal with some more hassle

When the car was ready after about 30 minutes it was still dirty inside, windows where dirty inside, and car was dirty outside, and had bad damage all down one side, looked like it had been sitting somewhere waiting to be fixed. Car had a bad clutch smell when driving

One of the best experiences with car rental. From airplane to leaving with car was less then 2 hours. Top.
