Cons: This isn’t negative about Cael, it is about car GPS system. Tom Tom system would take us on different routes than apple or google maps, longer travel times, narrow roads, etc. ended up only using apple or google maps.

Pros: Friendly service, car was as expected. We were given a good walk-through of terms and conditions and the use of the toll pass. Generally a very pleasant rental.

Pros: Professional service. Car was in a good condition no issues at all except both front tires were low on air so we had to stop to take care of that.

Cons: Dropping off car in Lisbon was more challenging. We came half hour before closing and drop off location was already closing . Likely we had help from others to arrange for someone to come to do paperwork and release the car.

Cons: Cars in such technical conditions shouldn’t be used. We received car with very old tires, one of them got flat on the way. There were no spare tire thus we couldn’t go further. We spend several hours on the road in the mountains waiting for help, thus we lost one day and couldn’t reach our destination.

Cons: I had to pay many extra costs when I arrived. I had to pay an extra non refundable fee of €264 when collecting a car because I didn't own a credit card. I effectively had to insure the car twice, once with Discover and once with Cael. The Cael staff member wasn't helpful, rude and unsympathetic. I also had to pay an extra cost on arrival to rent the toll tag device which we were told covered all tolls but then had to pay another toll fee on arrival.The manner and rapport from Cael staff was poor

Pros: I have become nervous about using hire cars, one only has to read the reviews for many companies. My Cael at Porto experience was fabulous. I had a great little car for three weeks at a great price, no pressure to buy additional insurance or products and easy pickup and drop off. Just walk out of the arrivals hall and follow the road out, cross carriageway and there is the depot. Absolutely no need for getting a ride. 100% recommended.

Cons: I had a little uncertainty about what time the depot opened in the morning. The website says 9:00 a.m. but they were actually open at 7:00 a.m. so if you need an early drop off make sure you clear this point up with the agent when you collect

Pros: No hidden fees. They do not charge prior for anything. However, you must take care of que fuel since the adopt the same-same policy. Moreover, they charge you for the ViaVerde, so be aware that you will have to pay a bit more since it’s mandatory.

Cons: The ViaVerde could be embedded into the rental price as other local companies already does.

Pros: They were amazing. We were a little confused about how far the pick up was and since one member of our party uses a walker, they picked us up. We asked about a place for lunch and they suggested the perfect place.

Cons: The car had multiple body scratches and small damages and was not in good condition . The GPS we rented and paid 50 euro didn't work. Upon return of the car the Cael agents show us one scratch and claimed that we are responsible for it and have to pay for damage, then charged us additional 180 euro plus taxes for this. VERY frustrating experience! This agency ruin our trip. Definitely would NOT recommend Cael!

Cons: Too expensive. The location is not too far from the airport but if you have lot of heavy luggage, it could be an issue (as you can’t take airport trolleys there). Location is also tricky to find even if it’s close as Maps application shows you zig-zag and long routes. Very confusing.

Cons: Good afternoon, The people at the counter were professional and quick. There were no issues with the staff. However, the price between the website I used and the price I paid for GLA180D over 1000 euro was a rip off for that car quality. It felt like a cheap Skoda and there was nothing luxury about it. I am quite disappointed and I wished I never took that car.

Cons: I disliked that the car seat I needed was not available for the baby I was traveling with. I was also not able to use my credit card car insurance I had to pay 300+ dollars for the car insurance provided by the car rental place. There was also a fee for the tag that I needed to go through the tolls in Portugal and I could not opt out of that.

Cons: We were ripped off with extra charge. We declined their insurance (they said insurance was only with 'them' ie Discover Cars & insurance would be approx. extra €19 a day. We declined as we booked full comp insurance with Discover cars & had been warned about extra charges however when we paid we were charged an extra €12.20 plus IVA which we checked on the receipt & appeared to be for personal accident insurance. "Seg. Acid. Pessoais (PAI)" which we specifically declined.

Pros: We had a great experience with Cael, Juan met us with a smile and was ready with the car, tips for our holiday and all documentation, he offered us some additional options, the car auto toll device is a must but definitely didn’t pressure us into anything. When we dropped the car off Juan recognised us and once again delivered a seamless service including ordering us a taxi to Porto.
