Pros: They were amazing. We were a little confused about how far the pick up was and since one member of our party uses a walker, they picked us up. We asked about a place for lunch and they suggested the perfect place.

Cons: Best car rental experience in our 6 trips to Portugal. The station wagon was brand new and the 9 passenger van was beautiful with lots of space for our party of 12, luggage and walker!

Cons: When we arrived at the Lisbon centre drop off there was no agent present and we had trouble figuring out how to reach the agent.

Pros: Service was excellent in lisbon friendly and efficient to get you going on your way. Had an early drop off and the agent was there at the booked time exactly and shuttled us to the airport quickly. Would highly recommend using Cael.

Pros: So easy to pick up at Porto airport, with super effecient and friendly staff, and offered a choice of cars on arrival. Dropped off at Lisbon Airport Cael base, no problem once we had located the office.

Cons: No shuttle service to pickup or drop off customer had to walk with my luggage cobble stone street forced to purchase to purchase insurance with Cael felt we had no choice due to 2000 euros they were going to hold on credit card.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. They spoke English, fortunately and were quick and efficient.

Pros: Friendly pickup. We thought we ordered two cars through Cael (travelling as a group) but we had booked using another provider. Carl rang the other operator and arranged a minibus pick up to take them to the car hire location. Nice touch.

Cons: The car had multiple body scratches and small damages and was not in good condition . The GPS we rented and paid 50 euro didn't work. Upon return of the car the Cael agents show us one scratch and claimed that we are responsible for it and have to pay for damage, then charged us additional 180 euro plus taxes for this. VERY frustrating experience! This agency ruin our trip. Definitely would NOT recommend Cael!

Pros: Friendly staff.

Cons: Too expensive. The location is not too far from the airport but if you have lot of heavy luggage, it could be an issue (as you can’t take airport trolleys there). Location is also tricky to find even if it’s close as Maps application shows you zig-zag and long routes. Very confusing.

Pros: I needed up paying 1000 euro for the same or similar type of car , which was not great Mercedes GLA180d , it had the most basic things. I wish I got a Skoda at the end. It was a waste of money. The people were lovely at the counter but the companies prices and car luxury did not exist . I felt ripped off

Cons: Good afternoon, The people at the counter were professional and quick. There were no issues with the staff. However, the price between the website I used and the price I paid for GLA180D over 1000 euro was a rip off for that car quality. It felt like a cheap Skoda and there was nothing luxury about it. I am quite disappointed and I wished I never took that car.

Cons: The final price of the rental far exceeded the price quoted on discovercars.com (see note above). The car was also somewhat dirty inside and out from the previous rental.

Pros: I liked that the service was professional, efficient and straightforward.

Cons: I disliked that the car seat I needed was not available for the baby I was traveling with. I was also not able to use my credit card car insurance I had to pay 300+ dollars for the car insurance provided by the car rental place. There was also a fee for the tag that I needed to go through the tolls in Portugal and I could not opt out of that.

Cons: We were ripped off with extra charge. We declined their insurance (they said insurance was only with 'them' ie Discover Cars & insurance would be approx. extra €19 a day. We declined as we booked full comp insurance with Discover cars & had been warned about extra charges however when we paid we were charged an extra €12.20 plus IVA which we checked on the receipt & appeared to be for personal accident insurance. "Seg. Acid. Pessoais (PAI)" which we specifically declined.

Cons: At pick up the location is marked strangely on maps so it was difficult to find. And we found the GPS a bit difficult to operate. Wasn’t picking up names of streets we needed.

Cons: Finding the office was a built difficult, but once I contacted them via whatsapp, they sent me the location. it might be useful to have a small map on the directions, as part of the sidewalk didn't seem practical, hence I got lost

Pros: We had a great experience with Cael, Juan met us with a smile and was ready with the car, tips for our holiday and all documentation, he offered us some additional options, the car auto toll device is a must but definitely didn’t pressure us into anything. When we dropped the car off Juan recognised us and once again delivered a seamless service including ordering us a taxi to Porto.

Cons: Rental location at Porto airport was a little hard to find. Could consider either a shuttle or toll free number to contact service rep.

Cons: Cael doesn’t accept discovercars full coverage, you have to buy it there, so the total amount was few hundred euros more! Very disappointed! And in the cael office when we went there to discuss this, they are just laughing to your face, very disrespectful and rude! Do not recommend it!
