Cons: Was told at pickup that I needed to prepay 10 Euro for a car wash, or I would be charged 15 Euro when returning the car. Felt they were overly picky about the condition of the car. They warned scraping the bottom of the bumper cover on a curb would be a charge. This was borderline unreasonable. Probably would not do business with this company again. --To be clear, I had no problem, but their way of doing business felt off.

Cons: Nenhuma carrinha à espera no aeroporto apesar de ter anunciado as horas do vôo previamente. Após telefonema à agência, cerca de 20-30 minutos ainda à espera. - outro ponto, simpatia (falta de) da agente que veio ao aeroporto, que mal nos cumprimentou.

Pros: The best I have seen for a long time, very friendly staff and very quick service on the pickup (Pedro leitão) was very pleasant and helpful, thank you , exactly what you needed after a long day travelling.

Cons: On the drop off they are still very friendly but not as pleasant, no questions asked, like how was the the car , did you enjoy the experience, is there anything else we can do for you……etc just the normal things that you expected from an high quality service. Pros: We arrived at the meeting point (near Vodafone) at Porto airport 15mins before required. On the details it said the Rent a Star representative would be at meeting point at 12noon. No one arrived and we tried to call and no one picked up. In our panic we ended up on the wrong transfer on the concourse due to reading the incorrect voucher (initial voucher) a d ended up with Drive4hire.

Pros: Service rapide, bien fait. On nous a expliqué pourquoi prendre ou non certaines options. Cela vaut la peine de payer le 10€ pour ramener l’auto dans n’importe quel état de propreté. Également, je recommande de prendre l’option avec les tolls. Il y a beaucoup de tolls au Portugal et cela fait économiser du temps de ne pas avoir à s’arrêter pour payer à chaque toll.

Cons: Only suggestion I would have is for them to give a quick tutorial on controls. Different cars have different systems and just a quick lesson on where and how to run controls would be appreciated. Trying to figure them out while driving is not the best practice. I personally tried to learn them before leaving the lot so I wouldn't have any surprises on the road.

Pros: Only Mercedes cars, very clean, luxury look, new cars. I appreciate they didn't try to "force" you for their insurance. I only got a simple question "do you have any insurance ?" I said yes and they left it at that. Quick initial and final check of the car with the staff for defects, everything was fine for me after almost 2000km. Car needs to be returned clean, alternatively you can get a 10€ cleaning fee at the beginning. They also propose a highway tag for tolls at a daily fee.

Cons: Some little things : even though the car was new, 48k km, it had some warnings (low level oil, coolant, washer liquid, service due) but I just ignored them. Deposit problems, but that's entirely up to your bank, I used a debit card and while my account wasn't charged, the credit card limit was almost used up and it didn't recover after the deposit was given back since now (3 days passed). So strongly advised you either raise your limit or have another credit card for other stuff.

Lots of hidden fees at drop-off - not explained when collecting the car: I was charged an extra €66 for using the motorway, despite paying an extra fee on collection for this very reason - extremely frustrating. I had to pay an extra €10 to have the car washed. Never experienced this with another rental company.

Cons: Nous avons dû appeler pour avoir notre navette à l’aéroport malgré le numéro de vol communiqué !.Nos 2véhicules n’étaient pas prets,nous avons dû attendre au total 2h.Tarif de l’assurance excessif 300 euros pour 10j !Un des véhicules avait de la gomme enlevé sur un pneu (non pris en charge par l’assurance en cas de pb) il a fallu batailler pour avoir un autre voiture.ils mettent un vernis sur les pneus pour cacher l’usure. Lavage facturé 10 e. Restitution longue alors qu’il n’y avait personne !!

Cons: I think the people on the desk should have a simple handout with VERY brief information about Portuguese Highway tolls and how the cars have a tag that collects the data total and we pay at the end. This would be very helpful as we thought we were being “ripped off” when the girl explained the tolls to us. They must also make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR on airport pickup that we are to call them first and they will collect us. We had no idea where to find them and couldn’t find a Rent a Star desk

Cons: Not located inside terminal. No one was waiting by Vodafone booth and my phone was not working. Was fortunate to have change for a public phone. So, I contact them and waited a few minutes for pickup. But I also did not provide them my flight information. If I could offer a suggestion, maybe they can have a Rent-a-Star direct phone line at the Vodafone booth so when customers arrive and no one is waiting, we can contact them. This by no means would affect my rental again with Rent-a-Star.
