Rent-a-Star at Porto Airport

Pros: Very friendly staff

Cons: Check in took +1h overall, first time i was asked to return the car clean or pay a 10euro fee for cleaning in advance

Pros: Except for the pick up speed, everything was great.

Cons: I asked Rent a Star about the invoice and they told me I had to contact DiscoverCars. I don't like this process, I should receive the invoice right after paying for the service, without having to chase for it. I also believe it should come from Rent a Star, not from Discover.

Pros: Very courteous and efficient assistance! Car brand new and with the usual elevated standards.

Cons: N/A

Pros: It’s a scam. They didn’t show up.

Pros: Amazing friendly service. My goto whenever im in Portugal.

Cons: Nothing to dislike, you wont regret using rent a star

Pros: Friendliness and professional

Cons: Very limited mileage included. Insurance wouldn't cover wheels. Charging cable not provided. I thought deposits exist to cover situations like this?

Pros: Good car. Friendly service

Cons: For the third time, I had to pay an excessive value for a very small damage. It seems that part of their business is finding randomly customers to pay excessive ly for very minor damages

Pros: Unbelievable service, thanks for letting us leave our bags at the garage whilst we went into Porto.

Pros: Friendly and efficient staff

Cons: nothing to say all good

Cons: Was told at pickup that I needed to prepay 10 Euro for a car wash, or I would be charged 15 Euro when returning the car. Felt they were overly picky about the condition of the car. They warned scraping the bottom of the bumper cover on a curb would be a charge. This was borderline unreasonable. Probably would not do business with this company again. --To be clear, I had no problem, but their way of doing business felt off.

Pros: The best I have seen for a long time, very friendly staff and very quick service on the pickup (Pedro leitão) was very pleasant and helpful, thank you , exactly what you needed after a long day travelling.

Cons: On the drop off they are still very friendly but not as pleasant, no questions asked, like how was the the car , did you enjoy the experience, is there anything else we can do for you……etc just the normal things that you expected from an high quality service. But overall better than anything I’ve experienced before. Thank you

Pros: We arrived at the meeting point (near Vodafone) at Porto airport 15mins before required. On the details it said the Rent a Star representative would be at meeting point at 12noon. No one arrived and we tried to call and no one picked up. In our panic we ended up on the wrong transfer on the concourse due to reading the incorrect voucher (initial voucher) a d ended up with Drive4hire.

Cons: See above, plus additional charges applied.

Pros: Quick processing, efficient; Clean facilities

Pros: Merceds A AMG, almost new, for 14 days, for a price I pay for 1 day rent in Germany.

Pros: All great Mercedes cars

Pros: Friendly Knowledgable Service,

Pros: Friendly, easy and reliable

Cons: Automatic cars are expensive

Pros: Premium rent a car service

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Terrible service, many extra charges, scans with rim damage

Pros: Great rental and service. High quality cars.

Pros: They provided a quality car

Cons: It seemed like they were doing us a favour. Staff were not overly friendly and just wanted to get us in and out. I would not rent from them again.

Pros: good quality car

Cons: absurd to charge money for cleaning the car

Pros: The only have Mercedes, but the customer service is getting worse.

Cons: the customer service is getting worse. They block an extreme big amount if you decide to not proceed with full coverage.

Pros: Highly recommend. Will be using their service again

Pros: Very friendly and considerate staff. Very nice car. No problems during pick up and drop off.

Cons: Suggested I pay extra for cleaning the car. The assumption should be that the car will be returned reasonably clean.

Pros: Very professional, nice facility, very detailed

Cons: I was charged for a tire issue that was there prior to me picking up the car. There was a scratch on the tire of 1/4 in length and I was charged upon return of car though I didn’t scratch it.

Pros: Car was not cleaned very well

Cons: its all ok

Pros: ALL WAS GOOD

Cons: YOUR ADDRESS WAS NOT FITTING IN MY GPS, BUT THAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT

Pros: Quality of cars and service

Cons: 10 euros charge to return the car not cleaned

Pros: The car equipment. They only have Mercedeses.

Cons: We didn't get a cable for charging the battery so were driving just on petrol. That could be next level but as it seems it is not that easy in Portugal to charge a rented electric car.

Pros: The people working there are very polite and efficient

Pros: The full insurance option doesn’t cover the new liability’s of the rental company.

Cons: The full insurance option doesn’t cover the new liability’s of the rental company.

Pros: All of the above

Cons: They charge a fee for giving back the car before 8 am …

Pros: Mercedes cars only

Cons: They charge a voluntary by force cleaning fee.

Pros: Amazing car, had like 200km on the clock, brand new, cheap, good customer service

Pros: They were amazing on all points listed.

Pros: All PERFECT !

Cons: —-

Cons: Should have in the contract the exact post code of the delivery of the car back . I had some problems to find the place back .

Pros: Time taken to process return of car took one hour, despite no damage

Cons: Waiting time

Pros: Excellent customer service and very good experience. Very good and reliable service.

Pros: professional and personable staff

Cons: Plug in hybrid cables not provided

Pros: The car was a Mercedes

Cons: Super expensive insurance, waited very long at the airport for the shuttle to pick us up and also waited very long at the drop off to bring us back to the airport. The staff was friendly but still never again

Pros: Online experience made it very easy to rent.

Cons: The actual physical experience was not as easy. Finding the location of the rental facility off site was not easy at all.

Pros: Really good value for money for premium cars

Cons: It was very difficult to find the pick up location from the airport. Only when I called the desk, did someone leave and come to pick us up but we still didn’t know the exact point they were picking us up from.

Pros: Remt a Star is definitely the best option to rent a car in Portugal. Premium cars and premium service: politeness, professionalism, willingness to be helpful...

Cons: Cleaning at the end of the rental is not included, have to add 10eur at the rental price.

Pros: friendly people, rental cars in perfect condition. Shuttle service from the airport. Easy to acces when returning

Pros: a new car. fabullous

Cons: because of a small stone hit the windshield, I needed to pay 650 euros. Terrible.

Pros: great service

Cons: n/a

Pros: I Booked a car on your website for 77€ i paid 35€ here and was left with. 42€ to pay at the store. i ended up paying over 300€ for that same car i booked on your website. Thank you for that.

Cons: I Booked a car on your website for 77€ i paid 35€ here and was left with. 42€ to pay at the store. i ended up paying over 300€ for that same car i booked on your website. Thank you for that.

Pros: Easy and speedy process (collect+return), very friendly. Fantastic experience! Will be back again!

Cons: N/A

Cons: Não tenho nada a reclamar

Pros: Customer service

Pros: The team was incredibly professional, and the facilities were as clean as the car itself was!

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the lack of clarity with the pick-up. I would have Ubered straight to the Rent-a-Star facility instead of the airport if I knew that was an option.

Pros: Very clean. Very professional.

Cons: Please enter Rent-a-Star location into GPS. I spent twenty minutes trying to relocate facility.

Cons: Only suggestion I would have is for them to give a quick tutorial on controls. Different cars have different systems and just a quick lesson on where and how to run controls would be appreciated. Trying to figure them out while driving is not the best practice. I personally tried to learn them before leaving the lot so I wouldn't have any surprises on the road.

Pros: very professional

Cons: I paid full coverage for the rental and I had to pay 592,00 Euros for the damage!! I want my money back for the damages!!

Pros: Staff were great. Everything quick and efficient.

Cons: N/A

Pros: service was great easy for pick up and drop off . close to airport. all car are Mercedes.

Cons: nothing

Pros: Everything went smooth and easy within the rental process

Cons: The car was not in the perfect shape, but it was ok, as all cars in Portugal and Spain have scratches due to the small parking spots in the big cities.

Pros: Prices

Cons: They tried to scam us at drop off.

Pros: very helpful

Cons: extra cost for arriving after 10pm 50 euros

Cons: Tried to say we had scratched the car, it was dirt. Wouldn’t use again.

Pros: Efficiency

Cons: N/a

Pros: First class service.

Pros: Good service

Cons: Everything was nice

Pros: Service client formidable.

Pros: The car was great but the front tyres was almost slick 😡

Cons: I jas à flight at 9h15 and drop thé car at 7h. They are in place at 7h but my hour was 8h. They told me that if i wanted to leave the car earlier i have to pay 45 €😡 I waited until 8h while they didn’t have Nothing to do…

Pros: Excellent customer service, friendly staff. Gave us an extra ride back to the rental office because we'd left a watch in the car, they found and returned the watch and took us back to the airport again.

Cons: A bit tricky to find the representative on first arrival.

Pros: Efficiency, fast, and very polite staff. Good choice of cars. Car very clean

Pros: Only Mercedes cars, very clean, luxury look, new cars. I appreciate they didn't try to "force" you for their insurance. I only got a simple question "do you have any insurance ?" I said yes and they left it at that. Quick initial and final check of the car with the staff for defects, everything was fine for me after almost 2000km. Car needs to be returned clean, alternatively you can get a 10€ cleaning fee at the beginning. They also propose a highway tag for tolls at a daily fee.

Cons: Some little things : even though the car was new, 48k km, it had some warnings (low level oil, coolant, washer liquid, service due) but I just ignored them. Deposit problems, but that's entirely up to your bank, I used a debit card and while my account wasn't charged, the credit card limit was almost used up and it didn't recover after the deposit was given back since now (3 days passed). So strongly advised you either raise your limit or have another credit card for other stuff.

Pros: yes

Cons: efficient

Pros: The staff were friendly and easy pick up and drop off.

Cons: NIL

Pros: Service was horrible

Cons: I was charged $550 extra at drop off for little scratch on the rim, which likely was there before pickup

Pros: To much scratches

Pros: Professional

Pros: Quick pickup and drop off

Cons: The car smelled cigarette smoke inside but that is not Rent a stars fault. Must have been the previous renters smoking inside.

Pros: Car was good. Friendly staff

Cons: Even after giving my flight times I had to contact you on my arrival to pick me up which resulted in me hanging around the airport

Pros: Very informative and upfront with all fees

Cons: There’s nothing bad to say, they were very professional

Pros: I make order for a klass mercedes, but get c klass kombi for free so can have more space for same money :)

Cons: Just one think, about i didnt know cant get airport transfer after midnight, so must walk to rent office but Its Just 10-15 min walk.

Pros: Perfect location friendly staff recommended

Cons: The waiting time but I understand was busy so is ok

Pros: The car was upgraded as they had over subscribed.

Cons: I waited 2 hrs to collect the car. I was accused of damaging the car at drop off, only for the staff to find that the bump was already there on their system. Lots of hidden fees at drop-off - not explained when collecting the car: I was charged an extra €66 for using the motorway, despite paying an extra fee on collection for this very reason - extremely frustrating. I had to pay an extra €10 to have the car washed. Never experienced this with another rental company.

Pros: This is a brilliant company. Service was prompt and efficient on every level.

Cons: I think the people on the desk should have a simple handout with VERY brief information about Portuguese Highway tolls and how the cars have a tag that collects the data total and we pay at the end. This would be very helpful as we thought we were being “ripped off” when the girl explained the tolls to us. They must also make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR on airport pickup that we are to call them first and they will collect us. We had no idea where to find them and couldn’t find a Rent a Star desk

Pros: Excelente.

Cons: Nada.

Cons: too much time to pick me up from the airport and too much time at the front desk.

Pros: Helena was incredibly helpful and explained everything clearly. They were flexible on the return of the car too. The car was lovely to drive!

Cons: It was quite expensive but for the quality of the car it was more than reasonable.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Not located inside terminal. No one was waiting by Vodafone booth and my phone was not working. Was fortunate to have change for a public phone. So, I contact them and waited a few minutes for pickup. But I also did not provide them my flight information. If I could offer a suggestion, maybe they can have a Rent-a-Star direct phone line at the Vodafone booth so when customers arrive and no one is waiting, we can contact them. This by no means would affect my rental again with Rent-a-Star.

Pros: Great service good staff

Pros: Fast, pragmatic, nice people

Cons: -

Pros: Good vehicles

Cons: Efficient and they did not block tools or gas money beforehand. Fair service.

Pros: Great service very easy to pick up and drop off car but could be more efficient by using my already saved details since I've used them before

Cons: Wish car cleaning was included it's a stupid extra charge which really should be included as standard. The cars aren't budget brand so don't act like Ryanair.

Pros: Returning the car was fine.

Cons: Representative came late; also took too long to pick up the car. As mentioned above, was surprised to have to pay a fee for car wash

Pros: Efficient and professional staff who always treat you as if you're their most important customer. The cars are always in great condition and above expectations!
