First Rent at Porto Airport

Pros: The agent was very nice and explained everything

Cons: Was hard to find the meet place as we normally get picked up outside

Pros: Too easy.....as was a lack of comprehensive details during the pick up and drop off

Cons: Toll device still active, when I did no't request device. Paid online for tolls with pagamentodeportagens.pt service, but await First Rent being characteristically difficult and collect something from the security deposit, because this appears to be one of a number of income streams according to Google reviews of First Rent.

Pros: Great customer assistant, convenient location of the parking lot

Cons: Dodgy office, zero excess option price, unclear instructions about contacting the agent after landing

Cons: I'd feel more confortable if there was a desk at the airport. Having to call them once I was out may present a problem because we do not always have a working cell phone on arrival to a foreign country.

Cons: About half hour waiting for transfer at airport. Not a rent a car. Had made reservation to return car at 10am. A few days before I asked to return car at 6pm - discover cars answer that I had to pay 21 euros extra for that. I agreed. After picking up car the following day had car rental company contacting me saying I had to pay 64 euros or return car until 12pm. Was threatened by email that if refusing to pay 64 euros they would remove from my credit car. Car Smelling like tabaco.

Pros: You upgraded my car to a bigger one … I assume that was the one that was the one that was available but nevertheless I was really appreciative for the bigger vehicle

Cons: The cars engine was not up to scratch as the cars engine would not pick up when we were into the hilly areas close to Arouca .. when the engine was hot it just would not work properly. I also think the fuel efficiency was very bad may car needs a service. When dropping off the car at10.00 am at a hotel, we had to call 2 to 3 times to make sure your reps were coming and they eventually turned up at 10.40 which is not good when you need to catch a flight.

Pros: It was a good price for the car but a little more trouble than just a desk in the airport but they were quick and efficient. The extra insurance was reasonable at 8 Euros a day and on this occasion I decided to take it out.

Cons: Just a little nervous at first handing over payment and then having to wait for the car but it was all above board and worked out well.

Cons: Car was filthy both interior and exterior. Could not move left side view mirror to adjust for driver. Car was at empty as expected BUT rep should have provided direction to nearest gas station as it was truly on empty. Tires made huge noise when turning and took to garage to ensure they where safe. Had (!) warning on dashboard during the whole rental time. Have used discovercarrental for years and will continue to use company. However, not with this car company.

Cons: They don't seem very official. No desk/offices. Was asked to return it to some random garage who seemed very confused, and then nobody was there to do a return inspection with us. Awful experience.

Pros: Almost immaculate, nearly new car.

Cons: No representatives present at the airport on arrival to collect the car. Following a phone call, a wait of nearly 45 minutes before they arrived, despite being exactly on time as per our booking. Similarly difficult process returning the car to a guy waiting in a car near the cargo area of the airport. Frankly ridiculous pick up/drop off system, unlike any other I’ve experienced anywhere else in the world and one which cost us a total of 1.5 hours.

Cons: -No office, Had to wait hours to get the car and find the person -Missing the car's attena and water to clean the windshield and no gas on the car it was on reserve and the car was all dirty and sctrached -Fails to answer calls -As I'm returning the car it was impossible because of how theirs no office, or parking lot so I had to leave the car in a parking lot or I would loose my flight and when I get back home they charged me for all the scratches that was already on it and failed to call me
