Pros: Newish car and efficient drop off
Cons: Pick up: because we had 5 hours flight delay they tried to charge extra. They said because we were more than 2 hours late they can charge extra even although I already paid for the car. Really unpleasant experience and in the end I had to accept smaller car.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1300.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications, State Tax.

Many highways in Portugal are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads.
You’ll be charged a service fee of 1.91 EUR per day up to a maximum of 19.02 EUR per rental in addition to the tolls, which will be charged to your credit card after the rental period.
You may also be required to leave an additional deposit for tolls.

Winter tires are not mandatory in Portugal. Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
