Tangerine Rent A Car at Porto Airport

Pros: Quick and easy car collection. Courteous staff. Modern premises and cars. Clear explanation of charges. Simple car drop off and courtesy transport to airport. Everything perfect from start to finish!

Cons: The only minor point would be to provide a description of the courtesy pickup at the airport (ie. black with Tangerine written on side). On first arrival at a busy collection point, it was difficult to determine what to look for amongst the many passengers and vehicles.

Pros: Everyone there was so friendly!

Cons: Nothing come to mind.

Pros: Car as booked, working as expected and amazing agents that help you with everything

Cons: They make you pay for the Via Verde (toll device), even though it’s not legally mandatory. So, if you plan to spend a week in Porto, you’ll have to pay an additional 20 €, even if you don’t use the automatic tolls.

Pros: It was very personable and expedited. We were made to feel like priority members.

Cons: Drop off location was a little hard to find, but overall went well. I was also nervous about the extremely high hold on my credit card, but it all worked out.

Pros: My experience with Tangerine was definitely one of the best ones I have ever had. The pick-up and dropp-off shuttle at the airport was quick and the waiting lobby was nice and well equipped with vending machines and sofas. he staff was kind, friendly, very good english-speaking and (most appreciated) not pushy with insurance stuff. The car was in very good condition and everything went perfectly. I would definitely recommend renting a car here! Thank you for the excellent quality service guys

Pros: Attendants were very courteous and quick. Shuttle driver was funny and insisted on handling luggage for us.

Cons: Had to wait a lot for drop-off. After returning a car I was charged for supposed "loss of car documents", which I've never seen. I sent a few emails to their support, but got no reply.

Cons: Tried to “upgrade” my original station wagon vehicle to a smaller sized SUV, which I declined. I did receive however the actual car I rented.

Pros: Garage area for pickup should have more lights - when you make a video before you pick a car that is a key factor - Always ask for hard copy - my email server didn't work well in PT.

Cons: With information that I have full insurance cover from DC , TR still tried to add a local insurance that I denied.. I expect to get VW but I got Seat - since this was my point of picking this company, I was not happy to get smaller car - but this is always the same story ( even if VW were available)

Cons: The fact that the computers were down and I was given an incomplete hand written contract with very general limited explanation and after asking where I would return the car since it was before they open I was never given an answer so I had to call in and ask where I would return the car. In addition I was later e-mailed the computer generated contract without my signature and the diagram showing damages at pick up was left blank whereas the hand written contract had markings of damages to car

Cons: Expensive. Wasted lots of time at beginning and end of the transaction. Tangerine did not live up to our expectations and will avoid in future.

Pros: We dealt with a manager named Carla who went out of her way to help us after having issues with the rental. She was extremely helpful and turned around what could have been a poor rental experience.

Cons: The car we rented was not available. There was only one car available at the time of rental and it had a broken windshield. They wanted to upgrade us to a higher model, but at double the original cost, which was untenable. However, thanks to the excellent manager, Carla, we were able to solve all the issues.

Cons: Dropping off the car took over a half an hour. One employee checked the car over and said it was good but told us to wait and see the agent. Only 2 agents working. After 30 minutes a third agent came to support. When we told the agent that we were dropping off the car, he asked us why we were still there? So lack of communication with coworkers on how the process works. However the agent was kind and got us onto a shuttle right away.

Cons: There’s a hidden MANDATORY fee of over 20 Euros for the tollway tag, even if you do not intend to use it. Absurd!!

Pros: Quick, cheap, transport from/ to the airport.

Cons: the cigarette smell in the car, coming out of the fan, whole car stink of it for two days.

Cons: The car I got (Mitsubishi Space Star) was larger than the Fiat 500 I thought I would get. I was visiting Portuguese country towns with very narrow streets and alleys.

Cons: They insisted that I had to have a toll tag and it was the law I also did not like that they put a block on my credit card for petrol as well as the block for a deposit for the car

Cons: only thing was that I was waiting for a station wagon, and got a hatch back. But I didn't realized it and did not complain. So can't complain too much about since I didn't when I picked up the car.

Cons: Very efficient ,made us aware of every detail. The only thing I did turn me off was they tried to sell me another insurance after I had paid for the full coverage with discovery... Agent explained but that turned me right off!

Pros: The agents at both ends, were so very helpful. First, giving us the run down on everything, helping with the navigation technology etc. Fabulous.

Pros: We were picked up at the airport upon arrival. The staff was very friendly and explained all the costs associated and deposit fees

Cons: Dropping off the car in a different city…it was very difficult finding the location to drop off. I typed in the address in GPS and was taken somewhere else, I then typed in the name Tangerine, was closer but still could not find it. Thankfully I called the representative and she sent me a pin which helped immensely and was finally able to get there

Pros: Friendly staff team.

Cons: The high amount 'hold' on the credit card, plus another amount for fuel. I got a similar car, VW Taigo. However, to use the mobile online services, you need a Volkswagen ID user account which limits usage to car info and radio.

Pros: Friendly, helpful and car was fantastic. The ‘ad blue’ was not explained and light came on in the car which was worrying. The additional cost of adblue was not included in costs but I will try to claim back as per the representative explained on the phone when I was trying to get more information about adblue, where to buy, what to do etc with tangerine rep on the phone. Very helpful by the way.

Cons: I didn’t realise how far away from the airport it was and that I needed to take into account the additional time for transfers etc.
