One small minus would be that their location isn't in the Funchal airport, and you need to take Magic Islands shuttle to get there when you pick up your car, and then back to the airport after your drop off. However, it was a quick trip - 10/15min. Another small minus is that our car had quite a few pre-existing scratches and other damage to the exterior.

Cons: Had to wait quite a while when collecting the car also should be a clear sign or something to let you know where to find the staff

Pros: I have rented a Fiat 500C, and due to lack of cars I've received a Fiat Abarth which was really nice.

Pros: Just the price and car condition, and easy, fast dropping.

Cons: The car was not ready for collection at the reservation time, it was delivered with a two-hour delay. Customer service from an open car trunk, no any desk, very unprofessional service, general mess. In the instructions You delivered to customers, you write about the location of the service in the right corner of the parking after leaving the airport. They serve on the left side, you imbeciles!

Cons: After I returned the car without any damages, in the exact same condition as I've picked it up and the representative checked it OK - I didn't get the pre-authorisaton cancellation slip on the ammount od 1500€ deposit. Hope it doesn't cause any trouble with the banks.

Pros: Efficient staff and good quality car. Had an issue with the first vehicle but quickly changed it for another one so no issues. Would recommend.

Cons: We rang them when we arrived and were told to go to a sign and someone would come to us in 10mins. 30 mins later we went to the carpark to find them (no sign or airport office). They told us to sit and wait on a bench and they'd be with us shortly. An hour later we went to find them again. They said they'd forgotten us but could give us someone else's car. Young lads with a 'don't care' attitude. They took the full deposit (not just held) and we had to ring them 3 weeks later to get it back.

Cons: Pick and drop off were not convenient. We waited 30 minutes once we arrived to find the company’s representatives. It’s only after we called 2 times that they looked for us. For drop off we arranged a time and nobody was there to pick up the car. We ended up having to leave the keys otherwise we would have missed our flight.

Cons: The only slight niggle was finding where the car pick up point was. Coming out of Funchal airport, we weren’t sure where to pick up the car. The discovery rental instructions say to look for your representative in the arrivals area, but there was no one there. However once we rang the help number provided we were straight away directed to meeting point outside in the car park. And someone arrived within just a few minutes to help us! I just think maybe the instructions could be updated

Cons: We got a tiny car (clio) instead of the ordered SUV. The car arrived one hour too late and the staff was very unfriendly and impolite. Other customers didn't reveive a car at all. Finally, we had to take that car - although we insisted to get a bigger one - and with 5 persons and a lot of luggage this wa quite a challenge . We had to visit the shop the other day to receive a bigger car. There, the staff was friendly.

Pros: The only thing that was without complications was the drop-off of the car.

Cons: We almost did not get the car, as they told us to wait for 20 minutes, than didn't show up. After an hour and a half of waiting on the spot they told us to be at, we stumbled upon them by chance on the parking, then had to wait for another hour or more to actually get the car, since they had problems with other costumers and had to solve them first. So overall, we waited for 3 hours to get the car, and the employees were very rude and not at all sorry for the inconveniece.

Pros: There is no dedicated desk like other providers like Gold Car, EuropCar so finding the agents is hard as they are not always present at the arrival terminal. However, once you get a hold of them it is pretty smooth.

Cons: Clean Car, Got a free upgrade to a nicer car but the service could have been much better as the agents are not readily available. You have to call on their office number and inform them of sending someone to you. It is quite irksome but when the agent is available he gets the job done.

Cons: It is a fraud, i reserved for 6 days and for 1 hour delay they cancelled my reservation and took all the money.. worst experience ever!

Cons: No clear system for car pickup. Had to ask random people on a parking lot if they worked for Magic island. Once I found the person, they angrily told me I had to wait but didn’t indicate where. Took forever for my turn in “line” - also unclear which customers were actually next since there was no real line. It even took longer to leave the parking lot because the card they gave me has expired and it took the guy another 10 minutes to pay the parking fee that would allow the car to leave.

Cons: The only issue is that since Magic Islands is a smaller operation, they are not located at the area with the other rental companies and to determine their location of the pick up / drop off was not easy despite this information being mentioned on our booking. Once found, great job, but have a sign or representative located in rental car area in the airport to guide customers to their location.

Cons: I got curb rash on one rim the size of a finger nail and this company is scamming me out of 430 Euros. Deal with a different company, it's not worth the savings!

Cons: The guy at pick up were a lot nice from the guys at drop off, so just beware, that they will go all around the car and find something. You absolutely have to take photos and videos of the car right at pick up, because if the guys at pickup don't mark the scratched and you have no photos/videos of the car from before you got it, they will make you pay for the damages. Take good photos, I would recommend from above and bellow each side of the car. Plus, we made a video as well.
