Cons: The customer service giving us the car didn't tell us what are the damages made already on the car, was not pleasant, behaving childish.

Cons: They are charging the deposit, not pre-authorizing it. There are more than 15 days since i droped the car, full tank, without damages (confirmed in their report), but didn’t received my money back. Since they are asking for credit card, it’s enough to pre-authorize the deposit, not to charge it. Support is very low quality, sending you quickly to T&C, without any confirmation if the refund was initiated. Definetly not recommending their services.

Cons: The staff member was poorly trained and mis -informed of the costs of taking a deposit in euros. Unaware that non sterling transaction bank charges will now add 75 % to the cost of the hire. If the money is not returned by the due payment date I will have to find £1338 deposit and the transaction fee to clear the card. There was an instruction that the car had to be was washed and clean inside and out or an additional charge would be made.

One small minus would be that their location isn't in the Funchal airport, and you need to take Magic Islands shuttle to get there when you pick up your car, and then back to the airport after your drop off. However, it was a quick trip - 10/15min. Another small minus is that our car had quite a few pre-existing scratches and other damage to the exterior.

Pros: Our car (Nissan Qashqai) did hills very well, it was great fun to drive in Madeira!

Pros: Quick pick up and drop off procedures. Easy to find the agent and navigate around the parking lot.

Cons: The car was not entirely clean especially outside.

Pros: Wonderful automatic car. A joy to drive, very modern and great value!

Cons: Waited a long time at the airport for my collection. Kept calling the office who kept saying a few more minutes. Ended up taking over an hour whilst tired after an international flight.

Cons: Pickup and drop off process were too slow. We had to wait +25 mins to pickup. Drop off slightly better but still took too long. Also I was hoping to request a larger car as we were a party of 6 but there was no one there to make the request to.

Cons: strict time to dropping off the car. Due to a delay in the flight we only picck it up an hour later. They didn´t let us drop it an hour later.

Cons: UNQUALIFIABLE!!!! Not having any type of dissatisfaction with Discovery Cars, I hereby come to speak out and express my total disgust with the Magic Islands employee (Alex) who attacked, mistreated and humiliated us.  Until the momen I have not yet received the refund of the deposit I made on December 15, 2023.

Pros: They gave us a great car at pick-up, an upgrade compared to what we booked. As I did not feel comfortable with automatic transmission, they exchanged the car for one with manual transmission next day. Their phone line worked and the employees spoke well English. The employees could be trusted. Their price was slightly lower than the one offered by competitors.

Cons: They do not have a rental office at the airport so you need to call them when you arrive. Also drop-off could be a bit longer, as they need to come to the airport.

Cons: had to wait a long time to have the car delivered to us at the Airport and communication of the how and when will the deposit be returned needed clarification and a better explanation as its a great deal of money to most people (1500 Euros)

Cons: Not putting £1300 as a temporary holding charge (like hotels do) The currency conversion was almost as large as the rental cost. It is a scam to discourage people from taking out 3rd party excess insurance.

Pros: I have rented a Fiat 500C, and due to lack of cars I've received a Fiat Abarth which was really nice.

Pros: Just the price and car condition, and easy, fast dropping.

Cons: The car was not ready for collection at the reservation time, it was delivered with a two-hour delay. Customer service from an open car trunk, no any desk, very unprofessional service, general mess. In the instructions You delivered to customers, you write about the location of the service in the right corner of the parking after leaving the airport. They serve on the left side, you imbeciles!

Cons: After I returned the car without any damages, in the exact same condition as I've picked it up and the representative checked it OK - I didn't get the pre-authorisaton cancellation slip on the ammount od 1500€ deposit. Hope it doesn't cause any trouble with the banks.

Pros: Efficient staff and good quality car. Had an issue with the first vehicle but quickly changed it for another one so no issues. Would recommend.

Cons: We rang them when we arrived and were told to go to a sign and someone would come to us in 10mins. 30 mins later we went to the carpark to find them (no sign or airport office). They told us to sit and wait on a bench and they'd be with us shortly. An hour later we went to find them again. They said they'd forgotten us but could give us someone else's car. Young lads with a 'don't care' attitude. They took the full deposit (not just held) and we had to ring them 3 weeks later to get it back.

Cons: Pick and drop off were not convenient. We waited 30 minutes once we arrived to find the company’s representatives. It’s only after we called 2 times that they looked for us. For drop off we arranged a time and nobody was there to pick up the car. We ended up having to leave the keys otherwise we would have missed our flight.

Pros: The friendly staff and relaxed hand over. So easy to do!

Cons: The only slight niggle was finding where the car pick up point was. Coming out of Funchal airport, we weren’t sure where to pick up the car. The discovery rental instructions say to look for your representative in the arrivals area, but there was no one there. However once we rang the help number provided we were straight away directed to meeting point outside in the car park. And someone arrived within just a few minutes to help us! I just think maybe the instructions could be updated

Pros: For a supposed meet and greet service, there was no meet, no greet and a 2h wait for our car to be ready (and still not clean)

Cons: We got a tiny car (clio) instead of the ordered SUV. The car arrived one hour too late and the staff was very unfriendly and impolite. Other customers didn't reveive a car at all. Finally, we had to take that car - although we insisted to get a bigger one - and with 5 persons and a lot of luggage this wa quite a challenge . We had to visit the shop the other day to receive a bigger car. There, the staff was friendly.

Pros: The only thing that was without complications was the drop-off of the car.

Cons: We almost did not get the car, as they told us to wait for 20 minutes, than didn't show up. After an hour and a half of waiting on the spot they told us to be at, we stumbled upon them by chance on the parking, then had to wait for another hour or more to actually get the car, since they had problems with other costumers and had to solve them first. So overall, we waited for 3 hours to get the car, and the employees were very rude and not at all sorry for the inconveniece.

Cons: I have not received my deposit due 21/10/23

Pros: There is no dedicated desk like other providers like Gold Car, EuropCar so finding the agents is hard as they are not always present at the arrival terminal. However, once you get a hold of them it is pretty smooth.

Cons: Clean Car, Got a free upgrade to a nicer car but the service could have been much better as the agents are not readily available. You have to call on their office number and inform them of sending someone to you. It is quite irksome but when the agent is available he gets the job done.

Pros: Good procedures at pick up and drop off
