Magic Islands Rent a Car at Madeira Funchal Airport

Cons: Rear left tire pressure wasn’t checked before pickup, and the windshield washer fluid was empty. Otherwise, everything went smoothly. Thank you!

Pros: The airport pick up was good, staff was nice, no issues at return, they ve provided a signed agreement that everything was in order but still they havent refunded my security deposit. They say it s with the bank. But i ve never encoutered this issue with other car rental agencies.

Cons: I need my security deposit back!

Pros: good quality of car

Cons: having to phone for airport pick up - had to wait over 20 minutes

Pros: The service was very fast and professional. After arriving at the destination, we gave them a call and they picked us up to go and get the car. They didn't have the car I rented, but gave us another car (which in retrospect was even better than the rented one, because that one was automatic and it was very handy for driving in Madeira). I also bought the extra insurance through DiscoverCars and they didn't ask any questions about it

Cons: No me entregaron el coche en perfecto estado de limpieza pero a mí si me lo exigieron sin avisar previamente y me cobraron 25€ por la limpieza de un coche que estaba igual que cuando lo entregaron para el alquiler

Pros: It’s irrelevant what is good if they steal your money

Cons: They stole €1500

Pros: easy to use, good value for money

Cons: havent found anything

Pros: They are a great car provider in Madeira. Very good and nice maintained cars but also very efficient in their process

Cons: N/A

Pros: They didn't provide me with any service!

Cons: I had no car!

Pros: The free airport shuttle was smooth and efficient and the staff members were very helpful.

Cons: They didn't have enough staff for the car drop-off shuttle back to the airport. We ended up getting an Uber just to be sure we got our flight on time.

Pros: overall a very good service with one problem

Cons: one important downside. You have to deliver a clean car back again after the rent periode. I has to be stated very and extra clearly in the lease terms by Discover cars, cause its not the the regular procedure for rent cars and frankly quite annoying and important condition when you plan your trip.

Cons: It refunding deposit and car was in a bad condition on collection. Loads of bumps and scratches.

Pros: The car was clean and quite new.

Cons: At the return of the car there was a very minor scratch of 8 mm of width and 1 mm of height located on the lower part of the front right wing/fender. Such ‘damage’ is visible only if you know where to look. We made the mistake of not making video of the car when we received it and so we cannot prove that it was not due to our fault. Anyway it doesn’t metter, we accepted to pay. Magic Islands Rent a Car asked us Euro 477.21 for that. We waited 45 mins for the shuttle for the car pick-up.

Pros: the guy who was giving the car, was fast helpful, didn't try to trick me into full insurances as many rentals do

Cons: despite several scratches on the body (probably 10-20+), they were pushing hard to convince me into 1 more (luckily I had car condition on pictures) and when this failed - they pushed to pay for cleaning

Pros: No complication

Cons: The car could be more clean

Cons: They steal my caution. I have opened a process.

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: The deposit is not blockade on account, but a real charge. I returned car without any new damage (what is confirmed in document that I got) The deposit is still not returned by the company, although the agreed limit of the days has been already exceeded. The car had very dirty windows The car has a lot of damages

Cons: They managed to deceive me by withholding the deposit.

Pros: Cost of cleaning the car should be included within the rental fee and not put on the paid amount as surplus after the return.

Cons: Long waiting for being brought to airport& see above

Pros: Fast, nice car, no deposit

Cons: They charged me 25€ becourse I had not vaccumed it inside. It was definitly not dirty when I left it back. That was a disepointment. I have never expeered that before, and I have rented many cars before.

Cons: We waited over 30minutes to be picked up from the airport. I was charged €20 local fees which were not mention on the booking and ask to pay extra €25 for having the car cleaned, when was only told yo wash it, not hoover it! Additionally they insinuated damages to the car under the door, which was not highlighted on the pick up, luckily the video I took showed the damage.Altough noted by the agent they clearly made no referen and assume will try and catch the next person. Extremely disapointing.

Pros: people at the reception were nice but..

Cons: Very stressful about their cars (eg. warned about extra costs for vacuuming the car on return).

Pros: Great service! I had a concern about the right front disk brake on the initial car (skoda kamiq)..returned it after 2hrs. After inspection found a worn brakepad. Car was changed to a brand new ford puma in 5 minutes, no extra fee..no questions asked. Great service and friendly staff.

Pros: Simple, friendly, helpful, efficient

Pros: Friendly staff, great car

Pros: Better car than expected

Cons: I've requested manual car but received automat with info that there is no other car aviailable

Pros: Quick and easy

Cons: Only that the drop off is not at airport

Pros: Car in a good condition overall. Many scratches that, however, do not affect the use of the car in any way. Quick response to the request of a damage cost report after scratch found, and therefore the reimbursement of damage cost was approved just 3 days after returning the car.

Cons: I ordered a medium size crossover like Fiat 500x in gasoline but got a large SUV Hyundai Tucson in Diesel. It result in: more time needed to find a parking spot, more difficult to move the car in narrow roads and possibly was the cause of a minor scratch that was found at car return (the scratch I had to pay for).

Cons: They claimed we scratched the car. When we dropped off the car, they issued the document without letting us write that we refuse to admit the damage implied to us.

Pros: The car is ok by itself

Cons: They lied about cleaning is included and charged me extra fee when I drop off the car.

Pros: Five stars for Magic Islands Rent a Car! The pick-up and drop-off process was incredibly fast and smooth. The car was brand new, spotlessly clean, and perfect for Madeira’s roads. No hidden fees and very professional staff. This made our trip so much easier. Highly recommend!

Pros: I’ve always been skeptical about renting cars, but this agency didn’t disappoint. Absolutely loved renting a car here. Brand new car, crazy speed at pickup and drop off and very cheap.

Pros: Dobrá cena, kvalita služeb a přístup personálu.

Pros: Really efficient pick up and drop off. Great price and clear condition of car

Pros: Excellent service and airport shuttle.

Pros: Highly recommended

Cons: I still have to get my 100 euro deposit back.

Pros: People are quick with organization and transportation from and to airport.

Cons: The point of pickup at airport isn t shown or nobody told us we asked someone on the airport a worker of another company of rental cars.

Pros: I received the same size vehicle as I ordered. The transmission was automatic, even though I paid for a manual. I recommend an automatic transmission in Madeira, due to the steep and winding roads.

Cons: I was supposed to return the car with the interior cleaned, but no one told me that. They asked me to pay €25 for cleaning, or to clean the interior myself.

Pros: Airport transfer in both ways included. The car eas fresh and in good condition. Simple and quick regisyration.

Cons: None

Cons: The company took 1500 EUR deposit as card payment (not reservation). It has now been more than a month since the vehicle was returned, and my 1,500 EUR security deposit has still not been returned. No answers to request

Cons: Deposit not refunded!

Pros: Speed of pick up and drop off. Affordable prices.

Cons: The car was dirty when I picked up and I returned it in the same condition, yet the agents tried to charge me a cleaning fee, which I found ridiculous. The car we received had multiple old scratches and I dropped it off, they pointed a few visible old scratches (rusty), which were not marked in the sheet. Luckily, I had a video and I was able to prove that the scratches were there when they gave me the car, despite not being marked on their sheet.

Cons: They did not return my deposit.

Pros: All good. Friendly, quick, what more do you want?

Cons: The car, it was a Mercedes CLA and I was surprised by the non premium behavior (no Android Auto, no Apple Carplay, Assistants not very good working, satnav gave sometimes very poor (and dangerous) routes) a premium car can have. But thats not the fault of magic island, it's a problem of Mercedes

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: They don't send deposit back. Don't rent with this company.

Pros: Please avoid at all costs, deposit wasn’t returned I am still waiting after 4 weeks, no communication with Magic Island no response at all about my query!

Cons: Absolutely nothing, they are not responding on my emails, bo communications at all about my deposit back

Pros: All was amazing, except the security deposit not being returned yet.

Cons: The security deposit is still not being refunded after a month of returning the car. The deposit was not just withheld, but also taken completely from my bank account. They do not reply to emails. Still waiting!

Pros: Straight forward no waffles

Pros: Top class, friendly

Cons: Awful experience with this company. They are still withholding our deposit money of £1,500 due to there being an issue with the car boot door which was not our fault. Then we were fined £25 for returning the car with petrol just below what it was when we received it and a £25 fine for not cleaning the car. Read the small print

Pros: Got automatic hybrid instead expected manual. Rear parking camera was also good bonus

Cons: We were completely scammed by this car rental company. What happened to us is outrageous and deeply unprofessional. First of all, their car broke down through absolutely no fault of ours. Instead of taking responsibility for providing a faulty vehicle, they shifted every single cost onto us. They made up a false story claiming that we had taken the car off-road and that this is why it broke down. This is a complete lie. We were driving normally on public roads. The car even had GPS

Pros: They were excellent

Cons: It was great service

Pros: Very good price. Car was clean and in very good condition.

Cons: They charged me cleaning fee, even though car was cleaned. They looked under the mat in the car to find some dust and tell me I either vacuum the car or I pay 25 eur. I told them I pay, but will dispute with DiscoverCars.com.

Pros: NOTHING

Cons: WARNING – DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY This company still has not returned my deposit, even though the car was returned 30 days ago. They charged €1,500 to my card, which was supposed to be only a temporary hold, not an actual charge. I received no communication or explanation from them. Because of this, I was forced to dispute the transaction through my bank. This feels like a scam. I do not recommend renting a car from these people.

Pros: they are not making up additional damages on the car

Cons: left us stranded in the evening without a car, even if we agreed they would wait for us. asked for 1500€ deposit, it wasn’t mentioned anywhere before.

Pros: Efficacy and sympathy

Pros: Very friendly staff

Pros: More or less ok car, not - what we booked, but - worked

Cons: They are not returning deposit! They suggested to pay with deposit card (not credit) and now we are facing troubles. It is robbery!

Pros: Le Prix

Pros: The car that I originally picked up had brake issues. They have replaced it when I complained.

Cons: The phone assistance has a two language menu system that was hard to get by.

Pros: The only positive is price, except from that I do not recommend

Cons: The company did not refund the deposit even though there were no damages to the car (confirmed by them). The customer service stopped responding to emails with a request for refund. In the first email they said that the deposit is automatically refunded after the car drop off and should be on my card after 14 working days. It has been a month already since that and no money was refunded. I contacted my bank and nothing was refunded on their side.

Pros: Everything was easy

Cons: Deposit refunded after 1 month when reclaiming it is late.

Pros: Warning: this company holds your money. Even after two weeks and confirmation from the agent that the car was returned in the same condition, the deposit still hasn’t been refunded

Cons: Warning: this company holds your money. Even after two weeks and confirmation from the agent that the car was returned in the same condition, the deposit still hasn’t been refunded

Cons: I initially had a good experience with this car rental company — the car was in good condition and the rental process went smoothly. However, everything changed after returning the vehicle. Although the car was returned without any issues, the company failed to release my deposit. It has now been over 21 days (15 business days) since the end of the rental, and the deposit is still being held on my credit card. Despite contacting the company multiple times, all I received were generic responses

Pros: Good service and automatic provided. Essential you have an auto for Madeira

Pros: Good price.

Cons: We needed to phone on arrival for the shuttle to come to pick us up but we only had e-sims for data. we were surprised to find they weren't on Whats App.

Pros: Fast service

Cons: Hello, Everything went very well, but I did not appreciate having to pay a €1500 deposit directly withdrawn, whereas the contract specified a €1500 blocked deposit. I hope to receive the refund of my €1500 deposit as quickly as possible. I ask you to take the necessary steps with Magic Islands. Attached is the return document with the note: Tudo OK

Pros: Good knowledge of English. Relaxed agents, really friendly and helpful.

Cons: The customer service giving us the car didn't tell us what are the damages made already on the car, was not pleasant, behaving childish.

Cons: It's been 3 weeks without getting my refund of 1.500€ back and no one answers my emails. The 1.500€ was charged not withheld as it should have been.

Pros: Good value.

Cons: High deposit that is not reserved but drawn from card. Huge effort to get deposit back.

Pros: hassle-free, good car, no issues

Cons: they didn't mark up all the previous damage, so you have to be very vigilant yourself

Pros: 👍

Cons: 👍

Pros: Got a VW t-cross instead of Fiat panda 🙂 The check-in/checkout process was smooth. Still waiting for my deposit though 😅

Cons: The fact that you need to wash and clean the car - I understand the idea, but even driving after wash and getting in and out will leave it dirty, I’d rather not have to worry about this.

Pros: Not much.

Cons: We had to return the car after 2 days because my mother had passed away. First they tried to blame us for damage that had been there when we rented the car. Then no refund at all for the 8 days we didn't use the car. Also getting back the deposit was a hell of a job and it took 20 days and several mails and phonecalls before the deposit was returned. With all the stress of the death of my mother, this extra stress was really worthless! SO for us: never Magic Island again!!

Pros: Car quality

Cons: They are charging the deposit, not pre-authorizing it. There are more than 15 days since i droped the car, full tank, without damages (confirmed in their report), but didn’t received my money back. Since they are asking for credit card, it’s enough to pre-authorize the deposit, not to charge it. Support is very low quality, sending you quickly to T&C, without any confirmation if the refund was initiated. Definetly not recommending their services.

Pros: The contact telephone was used and worked well , the staff were friendly and helpful. There was little fuss over the car condition on return .

Cons: The staff member was poorly trained and mis -informed of the costs of taking a deposit in euros. Unaware that non sterling transaction bank charges will now add 75 % to the cost of the hire. If the money is not returned by the due payment date I will have to find £1338 deposit and the transaction fee to clear the card. There was an instruction that the car had to be was washed and clean inside and out or an additional charge would be made.

Cons: Tried to charge 100 euros for a bit of mud on front seat mat. I wiped it off with a wet cloth and it all went away, to which they agreed not to charge me anymore

Pros: Very nice car, I was upgraded to automatic, car was clean, people at the desk were nice.

Cons: Unfortunately the refund of the deposit of 1500€ was not done for 3 weeks and I had to call and to send an email and open a ticket, after opening the ticket in 2 days I had the deposit back. The deposit is not a pre-authorization but a full payment.

Pros: OK value

Cons: Quite a wait from arriving and the need to change cars the next day.

Pros: Staff friendly

Cons: Pickup and dropoff slow us down. Car had some small damages outside and seats had some dirt. Tires and windshield wipers need to be replaced.

Pros: Given you all the instructions needed and willingness to support.

Cons: You had to call to get pickup i wish they had the cars at the airport. Also, they should operate same timing as the airport.

Pros: Good

Cons: Helpfull

Pros: Muito fácil rápido pick up carro pequeno muito bom económico e potente chegava facilmente a todo lado 5*

Pros: These guys are amazing! Well done!

Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: Great car, good price

Cons: they accused us of existing damage. We had proof from a video that is was already there. But “it was not in their system”.

Pros: The customer service agents were friendly and efficient. They explained everything clearly.

Cons: The airport pick up was a faff. We had to wait quite a long time and then they would only take half our party.

Pros: Quick pick up and drop off. The brakes on our car were faulty when we got it. We came to them after a couple of days. They inspected the car and quickly got us a new one without hassle.

Cons: They should have checked that everything was okay with our first car, in this case the brakes.

Pros: Simple, quick, efficient and friendly

Pros: They are very helpful and fast with a nice team! Also have very good cars. I loved everything and I will rent next time with them!

Cons: Nothing

Pros: They gave me a better car than anticipated

Cons: The car was pretty dirty, it lacked coolant, screenwash, the tires were deflated and extremely used (no thread on them and badly damaged). When I challenged them about the latter they said it's fine

Cons: I still don't have my deposit refunded after 15 days!

Pros: Car was okay until it broke.

Cons: They don't block the deposit, they charge it. This means that if your card isn't in EUR, you might lose quite some money on currency exchange! Use EUR card, even debit to have a full refund.

Pros: Quick, efficient, cheap

Cons: They take a £1500 deposit from your credit card, rather than reserving the amount as is usual practice. I have been promised that the money will be refunded within 14 days, but have read that other customers have had trouble with this and have had to pursue Magic Island before receiving a refund.

Pros: The car was good,

Cons: Explained in the overall scoring. Instead charging the customer for out of hours service you should give them a discount for the inconvenience of having to wait, move and waste time.

Pros: Smoothness, attention and friendly staff

Pros: Everything was excellent

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Car was fine

Cons: Desperately tried to find damage. When there was none they said they would release the hold on my card, which was a lie, so I'm stung for two currency conversions.

Pros: Very quick and easy

Pros: The car was fine

Cons: Additional unexpected charges were levied I have never experienced from any other car company

Pros: Quick process to collect and drop off the car

Cons: Car had a number of marks and small dents.

Pros: Speed and politeness

Pros: The vehicle category provided significantly exceeded the one we had reserved, which we found highly satisfactory; the car was notably spacious and equipped with an automatic transmission.

Pros: Nice staff and new car

Cons: Closing time was not compatible with the delayed arrival of my flight. A possible delayed closing should be considered for such situations.

Pros: Fast and clear service.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: They are scammers. See my Google and Trustpilot reviews for details. I suggest you drop them from your referrals.

Pros: Car rental was fine

Cons: They take the 1500 euro deposit from your account instead of canceling. After one month I still have not received my money back.

Cons: The car had little bit worn breaks. Sometimes in the hills car didn’t worked as it should.

Pros: They had quick pick up and drop off

Cons: We asked for a car similar to a Volkswagen polo but ended up with a Volvo XC40, an SUV which was difficult for us to drive. Also when they picked us up they would only let the main driver go to pick up the car which was difficult for nervous or new drivers to drive by themselves for the first time especially in a much larger car than what was expected. They also charged an additional €25 for an additional driver and then when we returned the car with an almost full tank they charged €14

Pros: Fast and friendly

Cons: Friendly and fast

Cons: Car was extremely dirty and had to take time to wash it myself. The rental company immediately debits the credit card without verbally informing customers. They only put forward that it is written in contract. In efficient help in case of accident handling. Difficult to reach out by phone.

Pros: Service was great, plus we booked standard SUV but got Mercedes GLA200 which was a very nice surprise.

Cons: Overall, everything was good and Magic Islands was great value for money for us. One small minus would be that their location isn't in the Funchal airport, and you need to take Magic Islands shuttle to get there when you pick up your car, and then back to the airport after your drop off. However, it was a quick trip - 10/15min. Another small minus is that our car had quite a few pre-existing scratches and other damage to the exterior.

Pros: Great service, great vehicle etc - the whole experience was very smooth. I sincerely recommend them to other travellers.

Cons: Really nothing.

Pros: Good prices

Cons: They actually CHARGE your credit card instead of reserving the 1500€ fee like all other normal car rentals. I still haven't gotten mine back.

Pros: Friendly agents, quickly pick-up and drop-off procedures

Cons: That the company, really takes the deposit from the creditcard instead making a reservation.

Pros: Fast and supportive service, friendly staff

Cons: Nothing negative

Pros: Quick pick up

Cons: THE agent didn’t tell us that the car must be clean on the outside. There were some flowerdrops and of we don’t clean we must pay €100,- It was far to much.

Pros: Car was good and cheap

Cons: The security deposit that they charge you of €1,500 which wasn’t supposed to be charged they supposed to hold that money and release it when you return the car.

Pros: Pick-up went fast smooth with the car and documents prepared. I got car upgrade. Magic Island didn't try to sell me any insurance and extras.

Pros: 1) Car Drop off speed 2) Smooth communication of employees

Cons: I would like to share feedback regarding my recent rental experience with company. While the overall service was appreciated, there were a few issues I believe should be addressed to improve future customer experiences: Fuel Tank Not Full at Pickup: The vehicle was handed over with a fuel tank that was not completely full, which was unexpected and inconsistent with standard rental policy. Undocumented Damages on the Vehicle: Not all existing damages on the car's body were listed in the or

Pros: Once you are with them its all super easy! 10/10 after the "bad points"

Cons: They take the dpeosit and reimburse you. They don't just hold it, it could be a challenge mid month if you don't realise. Also when we arrived we had to phone 4 times before it was answered.

Pros: Non stressful and quick service

Pros: Polite and helpfull staff, pick up and drop off procedure very fast at the office, shuttle to airport depend on traffic

Cons: I would recomend to use bigger sticker on the car, in order domestic better recognize that you are a tourist driver on the madeira roads.

Pros: We returned the car on April 9 and are still waiting for the deposit to be returned

Cons: We returned the car on April 9 and are still waiting for the deposit to be returned

Pros: Friendly staff explained us shortly about the car condition and agreement's details.

Cons: Phone holder would be appreciated.

Pros: well organized, fast, good car. no problems. satisfaction. we recommend

Pros: The employees were kind and worked very quickly.

Cons: -

Pros: Nice car. Automatic which was great for the roads in Madeira. Agents/staff nice and friendly.

Cons: Car park to collect car is very small/tight corners. Out of hours fee too much.

Pros: Excellent behavior of employees at the Funchal branch

Cons: When returning the rented car #42254, I noticed that the amount of 1500 EUR was not only reserved as a deposit in my account, but was completely deducted. In this case, the bank charged me a 4% currency transfer fee = 60 EUR and when returning it, they will charge me a second 4% fee. So the total fee is 120 EUR. The rental company employee Joao Pita advised me to write an email asking the bank to cancel the 2x 4% transfer fee charged for the 1500 EUR deposit. But the technical support employee

Pros: Everything

Cons: No have

Cons: Long waiting time for refund of deposit. It happened after writing an email.

Pros: I like the car , staff and location.

Pros: Didn’t like that the pick up info was not stated on the website. It said that pickup was at airport but to get car, we had to call them for pickup, which they would then have to drive us to their car rental site. Not good for tourist with no phone service to call overseas

Cons: Did not like everything. Was not clear in pickup location, info on car pick up was in voucher but only notified when booked. Furthermore, a 1500€ deposit which online google reviews said was always not refunded. Decided to use a different car rental service upon learning about this

Pros: First car had an unsafe tyre and engine fault

Cons: There was oil change warning light on in the car from the start of the journey.

Pros: Very easy transit to car location from airport, quick phone call and they were there in 5 minutes. Collection and drop off took a few mins each.

Pros: Great experience. Car pick-up and drop-off was super quick and easy. Communication was pleasant. Car was in a good condotion.

Pros: Car in good shape. Fast and smooth administrative formalities.

Cons: Not located in the airport as they pretend to look like. Reduced checkin/out time-frame with extra fees if out of this timeframe. High deposit fee and they really charge it instead of making only an authorization (they fully refunded it at the end of the rental, thou)

Pros: Fraud company waste of money they will fraud you for 1500 deposit won't return back

Cons: I entered into an agreement for a one-week car rental. Regrettably, I failed to conduct due diligence prior to payment, and subsequently learned that the company implements a fraudulent policy. This policy entails the imposition of a €1500 credit card charge, purportedly a deposit, which is effectively irrecoverable. In light of the significant financial risk, i choose not to forward with the rental. Its a scam!

Pros: This was one of the best rentals ever

Pros: Pretty fast transfer from the airport to the location. Very good support on site.

Cons: They took the deposit of 1500EUR (even though I got ful cover insurance from DiscoveryCar) and kept it for more than one month. They returned it after my reminder. They do not love this deposit on the credit card but they transfer the money to their account. Due to this I paid additional 170EUR of my card fees and currency rate difference. Definitely do not recommend this rental company.

Pros: Very good price, nice staff

Cons: They're not near the airport, but they organise the transport to the office.

Pros: Got better car than ordered :) Friendly, helpful agents Seamless and quick

Cons: At pickup, nobody answered the phone (but the agent was already there and we found him)

Pros: Fast and easy check in and check out. Got what had promised. Gentle price. Will be connected for next trip. Check out and drop off at the airport went very smoothly. A big thank you for the morning shift lady.🙏

Pros: Everything, it was good value for money, good car and proper service.

Cons: Only thing I could think of is that you'd have to get picked up at the airport and be driven to the carrental place.

Pros: Apart from the deposit the car was good and the service was overall OK

Cons: Having to chase my money after I returned the car weeks ago. Not being able to speak to someone and get a satisfying answer.

Pros: They were super quick and the car was new and in a good condition.

Cons: I had to reschedule my drop off time and called them. There were some language barriers and the person from the company got annoyed and hung up on me mid call, probably just having a bad day but not cool to take that out on me. I called back and we figured this out. Apart from that all super good and nice.

Cons: The company feels like a scam.

Cons: I had to ask for a refund of the deposit after 30 days of returning the car.

Cons: This company is a fraud. They charge the deposit instead of blocking it and they keep it as long as they can. When it is back it is 10% short. They do not answer complaints.

Pros: Car was new.

Cons: They've tried to blame me for the damage that wasn't my fault and I'm having problems with getting my deposit back they've been ignoring my mails and not paying me back. Still waiting for 1500 Euro. I would not recommend them at all. Avoid at all costs.

Pros: Very friendly and clear instructions.

Pros: Everything perfect

Pros: Renting a car couldn’t be easier

Cons: Car had small issue with one of the tires, it’s became almost flat after about a 4 hours after I took the car. Luckily pumping it on the gas station solved the issue for the rest of the rent.

Pros: Excellent car, very good local customer service

Cons: It’s off site but a shuttle picks you up

Pros: Nice car, kind and helpful agents.

Cons: Maybe it could get better with a whatsapp chat instead of emails and calls

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Gave us a different type of car than i reserved

Cons: Nedalo se dovolat, až na třetí pokus. A i když máte plné pojištění, chtějí kauci a tu neúměrně dlouho zadržují i po vrácení.

Pros: Friendly and efficient.

Pros: Very good service and great car. I got automatic instead of manual. The bus to the tental is straight under airport exit.

Pros: Great car great service, staff very friendly and helpful

Pros: Excellent service from staff. Clean car. Would use again.

Cons: Hard to find the drop off location. A map would have helped.

Pros: Good value for money & reduced excess amount

Cons: Car had esthetic damage and service interval expired during rental period. However, no functional issues.

Pros: Man at reception offered very expensive taxi saying it’s price is same as Bolt but it was 5 times more expensive.

Cons: Nothing. They are completely not loyal and cheating.

Pros: Nice car of sheap price

Cons: Instead of blocking 1500€ they withdrawl it. Now 6 days after returning the car the money has not been returned

Pros: We were denied a rental car at the counter; so never received rented vehicle

Cons: We were denied a rental car at the counter; so we never received the rented vehicle and had to go back to the airport to re-rent something at twice the price

Pros: Would definitely use again

Pros: Fast service and nice car

Cons: Car had body damage

Pros: They are fast and productive, that is perfect when you come tired of long flight, also you can come last moment , not 3 hours before you flight because they are very proffesional, also they pick you and drop you at airport Recommend!!

Cons: Issues with the car. Airbag warning and seatbelt warning sirens that couldn't be turned off. Faulty, unnecessarily warnings turning on and off constantly. Car was extremely underpowered, but our fault booking a slow car.

Pros: Good service. It's not located in the airport, but a comfortable minibus picks you up there, and in 7 minutes, you’re at their office, where you can easily get your car. The car was clean, well-equipped, and had a full tank

Cons: One downside is the €1500 deposit required, but after the rental ended, the money was returned in 5 days. Note: you can't pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay; you need to have a physical card with you and increase your limit in advance to complete the €1500 transaction.

Pros: Kindness of staff, car upgrade, small agency

Pros: As I gave feedback to Magic Island Rent a car: The didn’t have the car I originally booked, but they upgraded me to a better one at the same price. When I had issues with the brakes, you immediately swapped it for a different car. Even though I caused some damage, their staff—the team in Machico—were always very kind, helpful, and friendly. I enjoyed the entire experience.

Cons: The way they descripe the damage in the contract is really difficult to understand

Pros: I didn’t meet them

Cons: Despite being early for the rental time, they couldn’t be contacted and I couldn’t get my car and I’m still waiting for a refund

Pros: ONE of the employees was very helpful

Cons: Wasn’t informed about the extra 1.500€ for insurance, and we waited to picked up from pickup point for a very long time and it was confusing.

Pros: Good price and quality value

Cons: At picking up the car I have payed the deposit of 1500€ and still not received it back.

Pros: Quick check in and return

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The pick up and drop off service was great. As well as the rides to/from the airport. Everyone we worked with provided fantastic customer service.

Pros: Readiness of the service, cleanness of the car, precision at the drop off

Pros: Friendly, helpfull, quick

Cons: transfer drivers are very speeding

Pros: Friendly and helpful service and the pick up and drop of were quick, and we received the car we expected.

Pros: Friedly and responsive

Cons: None

Cons: The scope here is not enough to describe how disappointed we were with this rental company - you can read about our experience here: https://www.trustpilot.com/reviews/66e9e4f52726a51b78a327af If you can, really avoid this rental company. It's not worth it.

Pros: Blisko Lotniska

Cons: Nie polecam. Depozyt będzie zwrócony do 14 dni. Strasznie długo. Zastanawia mnie fakt czy firma ma problem z płynnością i tak sobie radzi z brakiem gotowki pożyczając ją na min. 3 tygodnie od kliento

Pros: - Very new car. Better and newer than what we expected to get - Full to full service.

Cons: - We had to wait for more than 1.5 hours on the airport before pick up. We called 8 times. - When I asked if the trip back would be the same they promised it would not. However when we arrived to return the car, the garage was closed. We called 6 times before someone picked up the phone. - Deposit of €1500 is quite a lot and it is not refunded immediately

Pros: Amazing value. Updated car model with Apple CarPlay. Great fuel efficiency of the car. Free shuttle from the airport to the garage at Machico.

Pros: Great staff and good service.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: They gave us a different car from the one we booked and charged an extra 50e for a day rental even thou we left the car in the 24h of the day we had booked.

Pros: Super helpful guys and very generous.

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Pros: Very friendly, pick up and drop off instructions are clear. Car was very good! Would rent with them again!

Pros: Nessun tipo di aiuto da parte della compagnia, veramente scandalosi

Cons: The car maintenance was not adequate.

Pros: It was really easy and everyone was really nice!

Cons: Was not at the airport but their shuttle service made it convenient still. Just took a little longer to get the car.

Pros: This company is simply awesome and Snr João, who’s working there, is simply amazing. There was initially a problem to provide me with the car I had rented and paid for ; but the way he dealt with that was way beyond normal customer service. Thanks so much!

Pros: Everything is very quick (pick up, getting the car, returning the car, back drop to the airport)

Cons: They said that getting back the deposit will take around one week...

Cons: Exit from pick-up parking space is a bit chalenging if you have no experiance of driving in mountains.

Pros: Quick and easy no hassle at all

Pros: Quick in general: pick up from Madeira airport and transfer to pickup car place. Fair balance between price and car.

Cons: Nothing to dislike really.

Pros: It was quick, we’ve got an upgraded car, nice cars, friendly staff, and no problems at all. Deposit back in time. Always rent a automatic at Madeira

Cons: Wait outside the airport for the pick up. It was hard to reach them by phone but if you wait outside every 10 min there’s a pick up coming.

Pros: Speed and efficiency!

Cons: I liked everything, great car

Cons: Would be good to know that American Express is not accepted and also that money are taken out

Pros: The car was new and clean, also pickup and drop off went very smooth. We got a bigger car than expected, which provided great value for our money! The shuttle service back and forth to the airport was very well arranged.

Cons: They withdrawal the 1500 euro from your credit card instead of blocking it. I don’t have it back yet (they said it would take 5 business days, which seems a bit long to us).

Cons: No answer the phone when I call them after we landing on Madera

Pros: Grate service, everything was good

Pros: The guys were great and personable.

Pros: Cast and good servise

Pros: Fast transfer when returning the car

Cons: No answer when I called for a transfer. No clear address where to drop off the car. No clear contact information

Pros: Very easy

Cons: Only the time of the money returning

Pros: Fast service and cars in great condition.

Cons: The pickup / drop off point is located deep underground, that my internet was not working and made the checkin process more challenging.

Pros: Friendly staff and good service

Cons: When i asked for change of the windowwipers it took some time but never the less i got them changed.
