7M Rent A Car at Madeira Funchal Airport

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Cons: Transfer to office (meet & greet), waiting time at office too long (pick up)

Pros: Helpful staff

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The rental cost was somewhat lower than others at this location.

Cons: The car was not available directly in the airport, required to use a shuttle service. This was not clearly stated by discoveryCars. The deposit amount when not taking additional insurance was very high (2000€). The car was not brand new, >45000 km.

Cons: The brakes and the super expensives charges for little scratch

Pros: proffesional and friendly attendency

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: easy to deal with

Cons: n/a

Pros: Everything was very professional, even when we had an accident.

Pros: Very good and helpful

Cons: All helpful and done there job fast a polite

Pros: Easy pick up and drop off. They didn't try to up sell any extras.

Cons: Not really an issue with the company, but the Fiat Panda was underpowered for all the hills in Madeira.

Cons: Gears were a bit clunky.

Pros: Friedly attitude of workers, good value for the money

Cons: our car wasn't in the great condition, breaks were sqeeking all the time, based on the Madeira relief, it was a lot of squeeking and also we had problem from time to time use reverse gear, means you need to put the gear again in the place to start working.

Pros: Polite staff who explained everything very clearly and precose

Cons: Struggled with the Sat Nav which also took us along roads that are no longer in use only to get to peoples houses. They were the original old roads

Pros: Very nice personel ,car in very good condition.

Pros: Very nice stuff ,nice small car

Cons: No radio in the car

Pros: All went well and no issue. Quick pick up from the airport and drop off at the end. Happy with the car.

Pros: Some very helpful employees

Cons: First car completely unsafe

Pros: The staff was very kind and all paperwork and operation were smooth and quick

Cons: Pick up has been quite slow and we had to wait long time at the airport

Pros: Friendly agent Miguel picked us up from the airport.

Cons: Only one headlight was working when we picked up the car. We were not offered a substitute.

Pros: Nice people

Cons: Nothing

Pros: They are trustworthy. Make things easy and don't try to sell you extra insurance when you have your own. They are very thorough when making the damage report at pick up so you can rest assure they will not try to scam you at drop off

Cons: The car was not super good but good enough for the price we paid

Pros: Friendly staff, and car was in proper condition

Pros: Was amazing Great people So nice and profissional profissional

Pros: All the people are very friendly and helped with all the issues I have had. Congratulation for providing the service.

Cons: It should be more clear that debit cards are not accepted. Is created a issue during the check-in process.

Pros: Great service, car was matching what we reserved. No extra fees. A few scratch on the car, but great inspection, didnt try to charge us extra fees because of that. Car was working well.

Pros: Tudo excelente. Em constante contato caso fosse necessário

Cons: Nada

Pros: Customer service was excellent

Pros: Great value for money

Cons: They charged 1800 euro because "someone" key marked our rental cars over night and our insurance did not cover that strangely. We don't know it was a scam for extra money because they knew our address or just a unhappy local action against cars parking on the road. No help and consideration was provided from the rental company and from the Discovercars Customer service.

Pros: Good service

Cons: Nada

Pros: Everything was fine.

Cons: Its marketed as a meet and greet so I expected someone to be there with a board with my name. But in reality, you have to go outside and wait for their van to arrive. Apart from this hiccup, all good.

Pros: No one was waiting for me at the time I gave them. I had to call and wait a whole hour for someone to pick us up from the airport.

Pros: Professional and fast

Cons: Fast and good customer service on pickup and drop off

Pros: Easy to book online

Pros: Very friendly staff. Great view of the airport from outside their offices.

Cons: Typical off site location with shuttle bus service. No complaints on this. 800m from airport.

Pros: It was big enough for our group of 8 people

Cons: No flexibility to drop off at a different location and the outrageous security deposit!

Pros: Super efficient, painless and easy to get car. Would highly recommend them

Pros: the meet and greet was great. I had concerns about the car after one day, after contacting the agents there was no issue in changing the car.

Cons: the meet and greet was great at the airport as we arrived at midnight, i was not expecting the drive to the car collection point. had i know it was a short dive it wold have been better, it was fine after but i was not expecting it.

Pros: They stink… Car was garbage… with so much pre existing damage…not clean…stay away

Cons: They stink a lot… Don’t get fooled by the cheap price… Stay away car had the most pre existing damage ever… not clean… Never again

Pros: See comments above. I have the feeling that they are "earning" money with scratches and dents even if you have a full insurance. They also tried to force me for a full insurance which I had already booked via Discover cars.

Cons: See comments above. The tires were thinner than what is required by law. If we should have had it could have been very dangerous in the mountains of Madeira with this car and they are really not interested to hear this

Pros: That after arguing we got the car we wanted

Cons: Car was at 26t km beat up from every side and not just minor stuff. The tires where so wornout that it was dangerous to drive. Car was dirty when picked up. They try to give us a small crossover vs a fullsize SUV first and tried to convice us it is the same size car. Mitsubishi Eclipse vs ASX

Pros: The airport pickup was quick and easy with the driver answering his phone however:.. he was very rude (see below). The car was clean and good value for money but did have some issues. The drop off was slick but again poor customer service.

Cons: The agent was rude. It was not “meet and greet” it was a shuttle service to an offsite lot where we spend over an hour waiting for the car. It was not ready nor was the paperwork. The agent was not helpful and kept us waiting with no update. The car was damaged outside and we didn’t discover until driving it that the brakes were poor (squeaked and jammed) and we had to add air to the tyres almost immediately. The car was also handed over virtually empty with fuel.

Pros: Fast, no-fuss service

Pros: It wasn’t made clear that if our flight was delayed we had to phone 7M to alert them to the fact! We arrived late due to a Ryanair flight delay to find that our car had been allocated to someone else! Our accommodation had been booked away from public transport because we were hiring a car, so we were totally stranded, and had to rely on taxis, and had to book an island tour to get to scenic areas that we would otherwise have driven to. Altogether a very stressful experience.

Pros: The girls at the desk were very helpful and friendly.

Pros: Simple, hassle free & effective. A no nonsense approach to renting a car.

Cons: It took a while to be collected from the airport. Ideally, someone waiting for me with a sign would have been good instead of phoning and waiting. Instructions about where to meet less than clear also.

Pros: Friendly services

Pros: All was ok

Cons: The car had some minor damages on most sides, but given the tight roads and ups and downs in Madeira it’s not shocking 🙂

Pros: I like that they didn't do any problems at drop-off.

Cons: Nothing was ok: at the pick up from airport the driver was driving very fast; at the car pick up it was dark, but the car was different category than we paid for (Fiat Tipo STW or similar category and we got Kia Rio), that was unacceptable, there was no space for our luggage (4 people x 2 pieces of luggage that's why we wanted STW and not small Kia Rio), we had to take the luggage inside the car and despite that it was hard to sit there; we had problem with brakes

Pros: Great value and car ran well

Pros: Cheep price.

Cons: They thought I scratched the car ( on the car there was a lot of demage), even though I didn't. During the pickup, it was night and the car's saturation was not clearly visible. Despite everything, the guy from the rental company forgave me and didn't charge me any additional costs.

Cons: I had a small problem with the car, the first and last day I couldn't start the engine. Apart from that everything is OK.

Pros: Unkompliziert

Cons: Zwei Wahrnläppchen haben immer geblinkt, diese haben mich verunsichert.

Pros: Quick deposit refund. Easy service.

Cons: The car was the most basic one: no AC, no radio or BT connectivity.

Pros: Deposit received back immediately

Pros: Personal amabil

Pros: Precision

Cons: Car was ok not superb

Pros: We had a nice interaction with the boys from 7 M they were helpful.

Cons: The agent who picked us up from the airport was a bit cold and keep his distance from us. But the other guys were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: No nonsense straight forward company Really liked their service

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Not enough space totell you the threats received, faulty not road worthy car, received a call demanding more money to be paid. Rude staff, so rude to myself and other people waiting at the airport! Driving van whilst on his mobile phone. Overall worst car rental ever. Do not understand how they claim to provide cars at the airport when it’s not, how they can try to get you to pay for assistance when their car is faulty and when car brought back was refused another car u less paid more 180 E

Pros: all worked fine

Cons: quite high security deposit

Pros: Friendly people

Pros: Once I located the airport van pickup, the process was smooth.

Cons: No airport signage. My confirmation did not state your location was off airport property. The gas marked on the contract was incorrect when the car was delivered to me.

Pros: Great value. Less than 5 minutes wait for pick up. On our way with our hire car within 30 mins.

Pros: None

Cons: Pick up and car hand over took 2h, old fashioned paper based admin, unfriendly and bossy desk representative

Cons: L'essere recuperata in aeroporto un'ora e mezza dopo l'orario previsto

Pros: Staff, very friendly manager who was supportive at any time of our visit and even after - explaining what is happeng with the deposit on the bank side.

Pros: Good service

Pros: Generally very good however very high rate for “local insurance” of 20€/day. Very high deposit rate of 2400€…

Cons: The office was moved within one week and when we arrived to drop off the car at the airport, the office no longer existed, they have moved it nearby the airport but not at the airport. We had to call in to figure out where to go. No communication was pushed to us during our stay. In the end, no big deal, the agent sent us the address with WhatsApp and made our way there.

Pros: The car reserved was not provided. I had booked a Mercedes and received ford focus.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful

Cons: Very slow process and a lot of people waiting. It took over 2 hours from the time we called to get picked up and leaving with our rental car.

Pros: Service at drop off was good and nice.

Cons: Service at the pick up was awful... arrogant and unpleasant.

Pros: Great service, friendly staff, quickly pickup and drop off. Car in good condition.

Cons: Scammers, even the police told us there are many reports on them. Liars, gave us a car with a problem then tried to blame it on us and charge us and take our deposit.

Pros: The prompt service even though they were understaffed.

Cons: The large dposit.

Pros: I am waiting in Aeroport 1,5 hours. The car not coming. Money is not refunded.

Cons: I am waiting in Aeroport 1,5 hours. The car not coming. Money is not refunded.

Pros: Friendly service

Pros: Easy, good price, good service!

Cons: It’s smart to have some extra time when delivering the car, because you might have to wait for others to deliver their car before getting ride to the airport.

Cons: Véhicule en très mauvais état au niveau de la carrosserie.

Pros: Absolutely nothing.

Cons: Terrible service, waiting several hours to get a car. Additional payments, dirty car in bad condition.

Pros: Friendly, timely and no selling of insurance

Cons: Car could have been newer but it worked fine

Pros: Very nice staff despite being understaffed

Cons: The whole experience felt a bit too ramshackle.

Pros: Easy and efficient

Cons: Phones on landing didn't connect to network so we're delayed in phoning but when we did, was there in minutes

Pros: They made it very easy and very fast to pick up our car when we landed. Simple instructions and English speaking employees made the process simple

Pros: Easy and quick to fill document

Cons: Perhaps it's my fault, I was waiting agent inside airport but it was outside. But after mistake it go fast

Pros: agents very nice and good working.

Cons: perhaps it's my fault by I was waiting agent inside airport and in reality agent pick up me outside

Pros: Easy to call

Pros: Quick and efficient

Pros: Nice, friendly, fast and almost on the airport

Cons: Being rippped off .

Cons: Nothing, just the seats and textiles could have used a deep clean.

Pros: Unbeatable price and lovely, helpful staff

Pros: Very polite, quick and efficient

Pros: rapide sympathique

Pros: Nothing. Experience has spoilt my holiday. I hate being scammed

Cons: Close to airport

Pros: Excellent service and friendly staff!

Cons: Car/power for a compact SUV was not adequate for the steep roads and main roads of Madeira

Pros: This has been our best experience renting any car out of all of our travels, a genuinely easy process, no unnecessary hassle we experienced at other car rentals, very responsive and are available 24/7, although we had to change the first car for personal reasons, they did not fail to provide a second car, in fact they did it on the spot. Staff were lovely and always had a smile. Although it’s a less known car rental company, I would recommend them over any other more known company.

Pros: Friendly service

Cons: Had to call for the pick-up service at airport

Pros: Very good customer service. Quick pick-up and drop-off at the airport.

Cons: The car was in bad shape both inside and outside, multiple scratches etc.

Pros: Pick-up and return to airport building. Efficient administration. Quick and efficient.

Cons: Unmarked van used for pickup

Pros: Excellent service - easy booking process, friendly staff and the car was relatively new and in perfect condition.

Pros: Perfect and reliable company. The car was clean, new and the model was absolutly the same as was booked

Cons: Meet & Greet service, this pretty funny guy with poor english, who's trying to peek up all his clients not all of them clearly speak english too. Be patient

Pros: The owner/main person at the pick -up place was very nice and customer orientated. The car was cheap and had all the basic features, including the very important one for Madeira roads - hill assist (car would hold the break for a few seconds when starting inclined)

Cons: There was a company representative that was very rude and abrupt with clients. Including telling some of them that if they being the car 1-2 hours earlier they would get fined from their deposit!?!? Total absurdity. Maybe he was having a bad day but still, very unprofessional.

Pros: Quick service. Friendly staff.

Cons: The breaks on the car could have been better. Probably need replacing. Apart from this it was an overall good car.

Pros: Fantastic service and car

Pros: Quick with the paperwork

Cons: Only criticism was it took a bit longer to get transferred to the departures area after drop off, but the guy was on his own at the time so it was a minor inconvenience only.

Pros: Very quick and easy booking and car pick-up/drop-off! And brilliant value for money too - would highly recommend!

Pros: Representative

Pros: Professional staff

Cons: Being not present at the AirPort, it was quite difficult to find the company. Although we returned the car on jan11, and did the cancellation transaction immediately, we still have not received the security deposit

Pros: Easy to work with

Cons: I haven't received my deposit back and it's been 3 days since I returned the car. The car didn't have a radio at least.

Pros: Nice guy

Cons: Scammer

Pros: Nice staff and new car

Cons: Everything was fine

Pros: Everything was so simple and easy!

Cons: I honestly expected more of a hassle, so when there wasn't one I was a bit on edge!

Pros: Flexible conditions of renting.

Cons: -

Pros: very good service, car in perfect condition

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Good car - run very well and very economic

Cons: picking the car took a long time ( shortage of staff) too much scrash and dent on the car No battry in car key - the clock was not updated

Pros: Efficient staff. Solved an issue with the car immediately.

Pros: The agent who helped us was really nice and friendly

Cons: The car was a convertible that leaked. First day we picked up car, water was leaking and dripping into the car from the rain earlier in the day. Car was fine on sunny days but same thing occurred when it would rain during our trip despite us triple checking that roof was closed.

Pros: Responsive customer service.

Cons: There was a huge issue: we had our booking and we paid an extra amount to pick up the car at 00.30, but when they saw we didn't show up due to a timing issue, they didn't even bothered calling to check if we had some problems getting there to pick up our car and canceled our booking, and left us waiting for 30 minutes at midnight at the airport, just to tell as, as soon as they arrived, that they didn't have our car and we should take a taxi (the airport shuttle had left already).

Pros: Very responsive and customer focused

Cons: They did not provide the address of their drop-off location at the airport so it was hard to find. They assumed I would remember where I picked up the car.

Pros: Friendly. Helpful staff

Cons: The car wasn't very clean, windows

Pros: Pickup the car at night. Lighting in the open air car park is not the best. The next morning I noticed the right rear tire has slightly deflated compared to the other tires. As I am not using that car that day, I didn’t drive to a garage to pump it back up. That night I drove to a near by garage to put more air in that tyre. I then noticed there is some metal wedge in a groove. Could be a nail, I cannot tell. I put air in all the tyres and the machine appears cannot put enough air in that tyre.

Cons: I then called the representative and he suggested I get a repair kit or wait for a repair man next morning. As I have to go on an early trip I have to drop it off at their branch at a closer location. The tyre pressure warning lights was on, but the tyre does keep its shape and not deflating during the drive (45km). Have to wait for the substitute car. Lunch time. Substitute car was dirty, not in rental conditions and not well equipped but nothing I can do.

Pros: Overall service

Cons: None

Pros: Very easy to find and drop off the car Car was better than expected

Cons: Nothing - very smooth

Pros: Pick up and dropp off

Cons: All good

Pros: They were very helpful and kind.

Cons: Rear door handle on the car was broken but it was not a big deal. Otherwise the car was clean and working perfectly even on steep Madeira roads.

Pros: Easy drop off Monday morning, extra price not very high for this option.

Cons: They were not picking up phones when I arrived to airport. Have to wait 45 minutes before they answered the call.

Pros: Price was good, car was fine.

Cons: A little slow picking up from the airport but basically very good.

Cons: Very bad car condition

Pros: Friendly staff, very quick and efficient renting process

Pros: The return went quite smoothly.

Cons: We had to wait half an hour for the pick-up car to arrive, should we have known that it is really close to the airport, we would have walked to cut the waiting time. We felt the deposit exaggerated (1500€), and can just hope that it will be refunded duely to our bank account, which has not yet happened for 4 days now 😞.

Pros: Excellent service from start to end.

Cons: Nothing, it was all good.

Pros: Very good price/value, easy process on the spot.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Great staff and great service. We hired two cars, exactly the same model (fiat panda). One car felt like it was a little better kitted out and more powerful than the other, would’ve preferred consistency in the vehicles

Cons: Did have to wait for good 30-45 minutes before I got the car

Cons: The standard of the mechanically in particular the brakes was very poor

Pros: Very friendly and helpful personal

Pros: Really really great and helpful staff. Both of them were so friendly and kind. And car was super clean and in great condition.

Cons: Our contract wasnt ready because of delay of confirmation from web. Staff was really helpful and focus to figure it out, but eventhough we spent there almost an one hour.

Pros: I was rent a Fiat Punto, and you vive me a Kia piacanto. And no one tell me
