Pros: Staff was super clear about the costs and what additional coverages you could get or not and was honest that the insurance we had purchased already was valid and just listed out the pros and cons of their insurance offering. This is the way it should be done.
Cons: The exterior condition of the car had significant body damage. I have never rented a car with that much damage. In my opinion it should not be rented in that condition until fixed or severely discounted at customer’s option.

Cons: I would like to apply for a refund for the amount I paid US$76.35, I was never able to look for the car and the reservation was lost, I notified in time that my flight had been cancelled and when I arrived at the car rental office they told me that my reservation had already been cancelled even though I had notified them hours before that my flight had been cancelled. I was unable to rent a car the next day and lost a day of travel.

Cons: Centauro cancelled our booking. Unfortunately we missed the pick up time due to our flight being delayed, and when we called them upon landing, Centauro advised that they’d already cancelled the booking and said that we couldn’t pick the car up later that same day. We were still charged the deposit.

Pros: Car ran well, but 14 identified marks of damage that the client is expected to identify, document, and then look for additional, undocumented damage should be part of the car rental experience. This company should repair their cars instead of just overcharging clients for the damage.
Cons: At pick-up, the agent said i would not be charged for damage smaller than a 4.5 cm diameter circle. At drop-off a missing piece of plastic on the passenger side mirror was identified that was smaller than 4.5 cm. The agent insisted i needed to pay 160 euros to have it repaired even though it was smaller than 4.5 cm diameter. Although i cannot prove it, i believe this damage was there prior to me picking up the car. Either way, i should not have been charged for it.

He made comments like "If you scratch a wheel, that'll cost you around 280 euro's, so that the same as the insurance" and "Alright, you dont have to take it, but if you damage something, I have to repair it, and it is not cheap!". Then he "gave us a better car for free!", which was a bigger diesel, but with dents all around and wobbly brakes.

Cons: Only one from two agent speak english, so we need to wait around 1/2 hour when picking the car to discuss the scretches on the doors with english spokenn agent. I was offered a car with a 3/4 tank, saying that I had to return exactly 3/4, neither more !!! nor mine, otherwise I will pay a fine. This condition (more) seemed really obscure to me and I refused the car, so I finally get car with a full tank. It is possible to pay deposit also by debit card, requirement of credit card is useless.

Pros: Very friendly. Drop-off was very efficient, minibus was waiting for us to take us to the airport. Rental location is off-site, but very close to the airport.
Cons: Had to wait for almost 30 minutes to be picked up at the airport, which was explained with a shift change of the minibus driver. Car provided was very basic and under-powered and the paintwork had numerous scratches and some dents. The car I ordered was described as "Fiesta or equivalent" yet in that category Centauro Madeira only rent out bottom-of-the-range Fiat Puntos, which are a far cry from a Fiesta.

Cons: staff not as quite as friendly as they had been when I declined to take the excess insurance. It was dark when checking the car over and upon return there was some damage to the wheel trim. I am confident that I did not cause the damage and feel that I missed it when picking up the car, but not much I can do about it. I disputed it and was promised a call from their client services, but they have still not bothered calling me despite me reminding them by email.
