Pros: Car was clean and in good shape. Service was good and friendly at the counter.

Cons: The staff on the car lot were very unfriendly and not helpful at all.

Cons: This time over selling of extras. This time succumbed to more powerful engine but resisted the rest. My fault as not really needed and a lot more - should have resisted all as usual as not exactly new to Madeira.

Pros: nice helpful guy at rental desk, helpful people on the phone, the car was nice, clean, easy to adjust to, super easy/fast drop off .

Cons: one day I couldn't approach anyone on the phone, when I needed (luckily it wasn't too urgent and I got an email response pretty fast)

Cons: Some questionable upselling tactics are used in my opinion. If you book the smallest available car you're told that something else for a small price will have a bigger engine and is better for the mountains etc. In fact this is not true as most locals have as small a car as possible. As a tourist getting a slightly bigger car can make driving on the narrow roads much more difficult.

Pros: It was the first time I rented a car and the experience was easier than I expected. The staff was very kind and answered all my questions. Also, the car I received exceeded my expectations.

Cons: I did not check when renting the car if the fuel supply was full. It was about 3/4 but I brought it back full. I asked them to pay more attention to this aspect and they offered to give me back the difference.

Cons: Will never use again because car description very misleading when you book. We booked a 7 seater van as we had a family of 6 persons. When we arrived to pick up our vehicle we were shocked to see that we’d been given a 5 seater with 2 pull down seats that only kids could use in the boot therefore meaning zero space for ANY luggage. Despite us showing the agent the clear words 7 SEATER VAN and then looking at our 5 seater hatchback he insisted that was the vehicle we booked.

They are trying to accuse me of putting the wrong fuel in my car so they can charge me an insane fee, and this is in addition to the $98 “insurance” that covers any damage. I will be speaking with my lawyer, the Madeira board of tourism, and my credit card company. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: I didn’t like much. They gave me a faulty car with a bad clutch, they wouldn’t listen to anything I told them about my experience. They basically told me I had to pay for the clutch and when I started a conversation about how I barely drove it, they changed the subject.

Cons: I have never found car hire in Madeira good value compared to other regions like mainland Spain etc. Cars are underpowered for the prices charged. We had to pay €85 extra for the week to get a 1.3L vs 0.9L car. Despite the fact that we had booked an automatic C/D group car. This ended up paying over €520 for a weeks car hire of a golf - hence my lower score for value for money. Otherwise very happy with the company.

Cons: Because my creditcard didn't work at the booth of Madeira rent (i have had no problems with it elsewhere), i had to go for a cash insurance of €160 (plus €300 deposit) for all damages excluding windows and tires. This was annoying as i already had payed the Discover Cars insurance. The fuel in this car was 'same to same', opposing the 'full to full' i opted for when booking.

Pros: Booked a small car (Peugeot 208 or similar), received a brand new Peugeot 308, we were very happy with the car. Good prices compared to competitors in Madeira. The blocked deposit on my credit card was released very quickly after returning the car, which was very appreciated. With other companies I sometimes needed to wait for days. Quick handover of car for both pick up and return.

Cons: Only 2 small remarks - the front window wasn't very well cleaned from the inside, so the visibility wasn't good when there was sunlight coming in directly from the front - nothing major though. And second, I didn't find the paperwork I was signing during pick up 100% clear and I didn't see the picture with the existing damages marked in this paperwork until returning the car - but maybe this was because the car was in almost perfect condition.

Cons: Car was weak and damaged. And for the amount of money paid, the size of it ! we needed a strong vehicle instead we got a very weak vehicle that struggled to get around the island. Pros: Fast pick up

Cons: Didn’t tell us about how to get out CB3 of the car park and that the key was in the glove compartment. Air conditioning was broken.

Cons: They charged 300.00€ for flat tyre!!!!

Pros: Very nice and new car

Cons: The woman from the rental office was not very nice. The deposit amount was huge: 1600 Euro and it was not mentioned anywhere. Maybe some people don’t have this amount in their account. I would have prefered more transparency.

Cons: Car was smelling from cigaretes (probably previous customer)

Cons: Slow IT system responsiveness at car pickup - it took about 15 minutes to process all data. I was the first person in the queue which helped a lot, otherwise it could be a nightmare.
