Cons: We were told that we could be charged more for collecting our vehicle a day late. We were not told that the access card to leave or return the car was in glovebox with the vehicle book. This was a big problem when trying to drop off the vehicle and unable to communicate with anyone to assist us.

Pros: Thanks to the intervention on the company's social media channels, the situation was resolved and the fee was refunded.

Cons: Beware of the rude behavior of this company's employee, who when returning the car did not show the entire invoice, where a penalty was charged for returning the car with an incomplete tank of fuel, despite it being filled. I warn against the staff who service rental companies at Funchal airport.

Cons: The extra fee because I had to dropoff before they open. Please explain what this fee is for? You donr have personel work8ng meaning you dont have wage cost. The office is closed meaning no power usage. If the first flight departs at 04.50 its not the passengers fault. I find this an abuse to charge extra to put the key in a dropoff box

Pros: Very easy and quick picking up process. Very nice agent at the front desk. We did not get a car class we paid but a better one, what is not so good for Madeira, but was very good for our luggage. Very simple and quick dropping off process, I hope there will be no after inspection surprise.

Cons: The lady agent at picking up parking lot just gave us a key and told us to find a car, with no help at all. She did not tell us how to get out from the parking lot, how to get back a car....this is not my first time at Madeira so I manage myself but she could at least tell us where we have a card for leaving a parking lot and where the car is parked.

Cons: Accessibility of the rental office, it is a hell to get in contact with them. It took hours before I finally got them on the phone. Can’t imagine how frustrating this is when your car actually broke down. Also, the number for emergencies / assistance has a option to choose for English, but you will get Portuguese anyways!

Cons: At the reception desk when I collected the car I was totally misled by the agent who informed me I was signing for a refundable deposit, only to find on my return that I had signed to agree to pay for additional insurance, which I had already bought in the U.K. and for other extras at a total of £287- 00. I am currently disputing this with Budget. Also they provided me with an unsafe vehicle, with 2 bald tyres.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1679.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Premium Location fee, Free modifications, Surcharges, State Tax.
Rate excludes
Many highways in Portugal are tolled using only electronic means.
All rental vehicles are equipped with a transponder that can be used for paying for all toll roads.
You’ll be charged a service fee of 2.21 EUR per day up to a maximum of 22.10 EUR per rental in addition to the tolls, which will be charged to your credit card after the rental period.
You may also be required to leave an additional deposit for tolls.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

The driver license must be written in Roman alphabet.
Learner's permits are not accepted; a full driver's license is required. A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit.
A digital driver's license will not be accepted — you must bring your physical driving license. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy


If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Additional Driver, Mandatory surcharges, then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Wi-Fi.
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Electric vehicles must be returned with the same battery charge they had when picked up to avoid additional charges (on a per kWh basis). An additional admin fee will be charged if a vehicle is returned with less than 70 % battery charge remaining.
Additional information
The vehicle must be returned in an acceptably clean condition in order to avoid additional charges.

Winter tires are not mandatory in Portugal.
Snow chains are recommended in icy/snowy conditions, especially when traveling in mountainous areas.
