Pros: I had a great experience renting a car from you during my recent Madeira trip. The pickup at the airport was efficient, and the rental staff were helpful. The car was reliable and suited my needs well. I also appreciated that the fuel and security deposits were returned without any problems. Thank you for a smooth and enjoyable rental experience!

Cons: If the rental confirmation included a bit more detail about the insurance coverage and deductible, it would make it even clearer for customers.

Cons: The car they gave us broke after two days - the clutch would not engage a gear. It took them forever to get the tow truck, and a taxi to get back to their rental place, we were on the other side of the island. We paid for their insurance, which meant that we did not have to return the car full of fuel. However, when giving us the new car (which went down in quality, from VW Polo to Hyundai i20), they asked us to pay for the fuel again! So it was their mistake, their car broke, not my fault!

Cons: Took 40 mins to pick the car up. The car had no power going up hills. Returning the car took ages as well, once the shuttle left we had to go via the office so someone could make a payment which added another 10 minutes. When I returned the car I told the agent that the car had no power on hills, and rather than saying "sorry about that, we'll check it out to make sure the car is working correctly for the next renter", he was completely dismissive and denied there was any problem with the car.

Pros: The pick up didn't arrive on time. We got into another minibus with the 'Discover Car' logo on the side but it took us to another rental company.

Cons: I think we got unlucky, but it took us ca. 35 minutes to get picked up by the shuttle. First we get out and there is no one there. Then they don't pick up the phone. Then we hear that they'll be there in 5-10min but it ends up being 20-25 minutes. After that, it went smoothly.

The booking on Discover included a free additional driver but the voucher did not detail that. At check in the agent did not inform me that there was a charge for an additional driver, I was told when the car was returned that I owed an additional $75!

Cons: The car we rented had low tire pressure from the get-go, and a warning light would come on every now and then. When that happened, it felt like the car lost power and we could only drive in first gear, with the pedal pressed all the way down. When we mentioned this to the staff, they didn’t acknowledge it, they said it was normal for rental cars because they’re not driven properly. Lol. We also rented the car with a car seat and paid good money for it, but it was old and wasn’t even fitted.

When we arrive to the counter, i was last in line and it took over one hour to get my car, then they had a system issue, causing further delay. Over 1-1/2 hours to get car. Return service was also slow, having to wait 20 minutes to check in car and catch shuttle.

They weren't all marked down on the rental contract and it felt like there was a bit of inconsistency on what was "ok" and what wasn't. They took pictures of the car and told us to take pictures/videos before we drove off. In the end, we didn't have any accidents or additional marks so it was fine.

Cons: There was a group of people for pick-up at the airport, so the lady wanted only riders to come with her. I had to leave my children at the airport. Next time I´ll rather wait for the next transport with my children.

Cons: Give us car that was not fit to climb steep hills with 3 people in it. Only admitted this upon returning the car after complaining the gears weren’t shifting correctly (automatic). Said this 4-DOOR car was meant for 1-2 people. Then why allow 3 registered drivers? Why not give us a more appropriate vehicle? Additionally, when we called to let them know the car was not functioning properly, the agent was very condescending saying it was fine. We rented a second car because this one was garbage.

Pros: Extremely pleasant staff especially at the drop off. Sadly, we had sustained some bodywork damage but she calmly & patiently helped us with all the necessary documentation, payment, etc & gave us emailed plus paper copies of everything so we could easily submit our costs to Discovery.

Cons: The car we were given was not the Skoda that we expected but a Hyundai with poor tire thread & poor power. We had to use 2nd or 3rd gear to navigate any hills even on the highways!!

Cons: A little slow in providing pick-up at Madeira airport

Pros: Great customer service, everything as in agreement, no hidden charges. Overall great experience.

Cons: Didn't return my deposit when my flight was cancelled and I couldn't get on another one in time.

Cons: Couldn’t connect my phone via android auto (Dacia Duster). Meant we had to have the phone balanced on top of the media screen all week.

Cons: Nothing. Unprofessional and unorganised. Poor equipment. Car seat which was outdated and not installed correctly without the correct base. Tried charging us for a scratch which was already on the car and they “forgot” to mark the scratch on the sheet you need to sign. There was a small scratch on the tire/rim which they charged us €350 to replace.

Pros: The rental included detailed instructions on how to find the transfer at the airport, so it was easy to follow. Very kind and polite staff. The pick up took some time but our agent was extremely nice and provided recommendations on local attractions and restaurants. The car was in great condition. The drop off went very quickly.

Pros: Airport shuttle was useful and the car we received was in good condition and exactly as described when booking. Everything was good, though we did get the agency's insurance which cost more than the car itself.

Cons: The phone number I received from Discover Cars to call was incorrect which added stress at the airport. After reading a number of other reviews, we felt we had to get the agency insurance.
