Cons: The airport charge was paid 2 times, also we had to pay extra 150$ for the full coverage because agent from Goldcar said that your coverage is not alligable, also we had to pay extra for the young driver and license under 3 years - why can't you notify cliens about it while booking?
Cons: Per avere la Casco sottoscritta in fase di contratto col broker, avrei dovuto fare un'altra assicurazione. Il personale che mi ha consegnato l'auto non era particolarmente gentile. I segni dei danni dell''auto non erano aggiornati. Ho ridato l'auto e non c'era personale per verificarla (questo alle 8.30 in un aeroporto). La cauzione per la benzina era troppo alta
Pros: Generally Goldcar is one of the most problematic companies, not to say the most terrible from the big ones.I had so many problems with them, for example in Spain at multiple locations.But when not having much choice now for this last minute rental, considering the very high pruces of the other companies and the bad experience with Centauro at OPO I had in June, plus the quite good service in the Portugese islands I had in general, I decided to risk and test Goldcar Portugal.And it was OK overall
Cons: The lady at checkin was quite unfriendly(especialy at the begining when realized that I booked online around 5times cheaper than what she offered me at the counter 20min earlier).She was refusing that I've a booking stating that they dont have availability.She was insisting that Idont have booking even when I show her the Goldcar booking number and even while on the Goldcar car center confirmed that I have perfectly OK one,she was still refusing it for 5 more min! After she kept me waiting 40min

Cons: Depois de ter feito uma reserva com a Discovery Cars, onde aluguei uma viatura com Seguro Full Coverage, a GoldCar recusou a entrega da viatura e o pagamento do valor remanescente em falta, tendo obrigado ao pagamento suplementar de 242,34€ que foi feito pelo facto de não ter alternativa e estar com familiares a meu cargo (uma pessoa idosa e a minha esposa grávida). Aluguei um carro de 5 lugares a gasolina, tendo me sido entregue um carro a diesel e cobrado uma taxa de 24.59€.
Pros: Nothing! I feel we were totally ripped off and overcharged. The car was dangerous due to brakes that juddered every time you used them and on our 3rd day of use the red warning light came on saying STOP because there was no water left in it.
Cons: Everything! We were ripped off because we were charged on our credit card for things we never asked for by someone Portuguese who spoke little English and we spoke no Portuguese. Very bad experience will never use GOLDCAR again .

Cons: The substitute car, to that booked, was small and under powered.
Cons: being misled over the fuel charges and being charged 50 euros to have the car cleaned because of a few scuff marks on the back of one seat. They also said the car was not suitable for driving in the hills and wanted to charge extra for an upgrade and charge extra for more insurance!
Pros: Your representatives in Funchal airport give excellent customer care. I witnessed your representatives deal with at least four extremely difficult customers, they dealt with the situation with grace and politeness. In addition when it came to our turn they greeted us with a smile! The ladies that were working the morning of Monday 1st April are a credit to your company.

Cons: they stole 200 euros from me on drop off for a tiny bit of pre existing damage you could not see under the front bumper.the internet is full of similar stories.You shold not do business with goldcar
