Autorent at Faro Airport

Pros: The transer minibus was sat waiting for me on my arrival. The vehicle was also waiting for me at their depot so I was underway as quick as possible.

Cons: The only point, though I can understand it, was that when I arrived at 07:40 there were a number of other people also sat waiting to return vehicles - we had all been told it was ok to arrive before 8am but that was opening time. The two reps sat chatting in the office from about 07:55 but declined to turn the key in the door, which we could all see, until exactly 8am. Some people were frustraited waiting when they saw them basically killing time to 8am. There were then 16 waiting!

Pros: I've been using Autorent for a long time. I always find them first class in every way.

Pros: I found auto rent easy to deal with I found their cars were in good shape and clean and when I decided to rent for another month, they made the process easy and I was able to remotely sign the documentation and keep my car without having to drive for 40 minutes to their office.

Pros: I found the auto rent staff to be knowledgable to be easy to deal with even though their art language barriers between Portuguese and English it was easy to converse with the agent. They made sure that the car and any imperfections were identified and then went over the car with me to show them to me. I appreciate it or candour during this process.

Cons: During my stay here in Portugal, I decided to rent my car for another month. Since I wasn’t actually living in the city where I picked up the car, I went through DiscoverCars to rent another vehicle for the next month. The process was seamless once this was done like when I was contacted by auto rent with my upcoming drop off, notified them that I had rented another car from them they made the seamless using emails and I was able to keep the car. Originally booked without having to return it.

Pros: Was in an accident at the start of December and paid for the damage, explained I had contacted the police and when they came out the other driver admitted responsibility and an eyewitness had saw the collision. Other than on the day of the accident when I reported the incident I have not been contacted by the company except in answer to my queries. I was assured the money would be refunded as soon as the other drivers insurance company paid them but I can't see what the hold up is.

Cons: The agent said we are responsible for a tiny dent on the rear drivers car door, one which is so microscopic, it does not show on their own daylight return photo record and does not show on my own video on the night of collection, it was dark and the lighting was poor. WE are not responsible and I dispute their charge imposed on us.
