Surprice at Crete Airport Heraklion

Pros: can't complain about anything

Pros: Nothing.

Cons: After paying for full coverage with you, Surprice said that this insurance wasn’t valid in their country and I had to pay a further £275. They said I had to pay it or if any minor scratch happens on the car I’d have to pay that price to get it fixed, even though the car was full of scratches already. They gave us an old Fiat Qubo which had poor, squeaky breaks, a dodgy gear box and no aircon. The car advertised on Discover Cars was a Fiat Tipo or similar with aircon.

Pros: Very low price. Trustworthy and reliable service. No hidden fees, no rip-off. I could pick up the car at 11pm night for small extra fee.

Cons: Car had many undocumented small body damages (which were difficult to find at the dark pickup location) - had to spend 15 minutes taking photos.

Pros: Superb 4 mins from the airport Very quick

Cons: Hard to find their office. I have booked peugeot SW nad at place i was informed that they dont even posses that cara. I got skoda fabia :( did not have time to search for other car rental so i took what they had. Good that i cleaned up the car, i was not informed about 100euro penalty for not cleaning inside od the car. Happy that it ended.

Cons: cooperation. It seems that the local service is completely separated from the online service. It did not feel good. I needed to pay extra insurance instead of a refundable deposit (€1000,-). Even though I paid for the insurance online.

Cons: The car was quite old. From time to time it had a problem with starting up, driving up a hill was a challenge.

Cons: The customer service. When we arrived, we were told we needed to wait at least an additional thirty minutes to get our car as a customer had not returned it yet. We had to ask for them to switch us into a different car category, this was not offered. When we returned the car, we did not realize that returning it in the same condition we received it meant that we had to return it with a completely cleaned interior and exterior. Other car rental agencies only charge a fee when damage has occurred.

Pros: They supplied me with an automatic car like i asked. I received a Nissan Micra 2011, for a week it was enough. Normally you receive a newer car in a better condition

Cons: When we arrived at the airport the rental office was not so easy to find, afterwards they picked us up in a van. We waited outside in the sun for like an hour for service. And when our turn finally arrived they were rude and lazy

Cons: They were agressive in the way they spoke to us. We had to pay extra because we didnt have a credit card. The car was not very powerful for the money we spent, very disappointing ! There was no water in the engine to clean the windows with either!

Pros: There was some guy at the rental company Surprice which want me to sell some suplimentary insurances even i choose full insurrance in the first, the car was not in the same class like I was requested, when I ask why the car is not ao big, they give me answers witout arguments, in the end we manage using the car selected by them, the drop of the car was ok, no incidents, now I just wait to give me back the deposit warranty -1000e

Cons: Terrible car in poor condition, poorly maintained, brakes worn out, clutch almost gone, and couldn’t use air conditioning when going uphill.

Cons: The car was a little bit dirty. The seats were stained. The pick-up location is not correct in the description or in the emails. It was not clear at all where to find it. The main office is not mentioned in the description, but it would be helpfull because maybe we could find that faster than the pick-up location.

Cons: When we picked up the car, Surprise told us that the interior could not be "dirty" at drop-off. It was really not dirty, only some sand and dust at the feet of the driver, because the mat at the feet of the driver was not usable (completely worn out). They didn't accept the car "because it was dirty". We had either to pay 100 euro or to let the car "vacuum cleaned". They said this was an agreement with Discover cars, to put the price at a lower level. They were very rude and unfriendly.

Cons: There was no shuttle at the arrivals to meet us, we spent 15 mins dragging our suitcases around to try and fine their shack. Then when we did we had to wait in the heat for another 10 mins until a minibus arrived. Then we had to load our cases into the minibus ( no help offered and we’re not that agile) and rode for another 5 mins to the office. We then had to unload our cases (again no help). The ‘same to same’ fuel policy meant we had to fill the car up on collection and leave unused petrol

Pros: Staff were welcoming and professional on arrival and the best thing was we were able to return our car quickly with no issues

Cons: Ordered and paid extra for a Citroen C3 (or similar), got a 2004 Opel Astra (don’t see how this is equivalent). Very old car, first generation automatic that I would need to remove my foot for it to change gears. Crete is mountainous - it really struggled to drive up. Had to really accelerate up a steep road and ended up skidding slightly. Would not use this company again.

Car was not what we expected, it was about 15 years old, 160,000km and the air conditioning was very bad.and did not work. Scratches and scrapes all over the car and repaired by their DIY can of white spray paint by the looks of things. Pick up location annoying to get to out of terminal and then have to get transferred to the car rental location.

The inside of the rented car, the doors had exposed metal panels, which does not seem an issue in itself. However we were thinking if you were traveling with kids, and not being attentive, those panels were HOT as hell. Greece in summer, a car left on a car park... I let you imagine how those panels would heat up. Not the car rental company fault, more the model

Cons: The first car given to us had a faulty gas gauge. The second car also had a faulty gas gauge. We do not know how much extra fuel (diesel) we gave them because of the faulty gauge, but approximately 12 liters = Approximately 20.00 euros. This was based on filling the tank and watching the kilometer mileage. Also, we had arranged for a delivery of the car to our home and Surprice canceled this service at the last minute. We then had to hire a taxi which cost us 40.00 euros.

When I asked why does the number need to be written on the paper (as it is a security threat if they lose the paper) they had no reply, just "this is how we do it". Also they don't follow the generally accepted rule of scratches less than 5cm being significant enough.

Something was done to the fuel meter, when it was empty and I topped up 15L it didn't even show that there was any fuel in the tank.
