Cons: The agent at the desk tried very hard to sell me another round of insurance with surprice despite me being fully covered. He then threatened me that if there's any damage, even a scratch in plastic, I would have to pay with no upper limit. I showed him the document that I was covered by discover, but he said it don't matter.

Cons: The first car had to be swapped (for a much older model with 265k on the clock), and even though i made a special trip from Rethymno to Heraklion (3 hour travel, about 130km) to swap cars, they insisted that i fill up the car and were not helpful, understanding, but unfriendly instead.

I know some people find that upsetting but not me! The car had a couple of small dinks in it but these were notated at pick up.Their system for recording and evaluating damage is firm but not oppressive unlike many companies now. Also there was no overt pushiness on selling their own insurance. Altogether, I had a great experience.

On this occasion the vehicle had many scratches, minor dints around the vehicle and feel that the vehicle wasn't cleaned thoroughly before our collection. The rear parcel shelf was missing, which they did rectify upon our query and found one from another vehicle. If we hadn't mentioned it they wouldn't have given is one.

Pros: The representative of Surprice was really professional, provided his insurance options and proceeded without even blinking when I denied that (had insurance already). I was grateful for such a professional approach as I already have had unpleasant situations in the past. The pick up was quick. I was told to photo the car and all the potential scratches. The drop-off was a formality. The hold on my credit card was relieved immediately (even though the agreement stated a long period).

Cons: The stand is not on airport premises but outside of it (and finding it with a heavy bag is not an easy task). Turns out it's only a front - you have the bus hailed and you wait for it. That took a bit too long than I expected. The actual place is 1.5km from the airport. I have specifically chosen a provider with on-premise pick-up to speed things up. The car rental was really cheap, but I wasn't expecting getting a car with rattling noises due to it's truly high mileage. The rest was great.

The car we received was quite beat up on the outside (lots of scratches, dents, etc.) and the staff was extremely thorough during return to make sure none of these cosmetic issues were caused by us. When renting from them, be sure to take many, many photos/videos of the car before you take it off the lot otherwise you may incur a costly fine.

The second car offered, a Peugeot 308, was in very poor condition - there was damage everywhere, but at least the transmission was fine. There were cars in much better condition, so I have no idea why we got this Schrott even though we booked it months in advance. I feel myself cheated and will never book a car again using this service.

They gave us an old Fiat Qubo which had poor, squeaky breaks, a dodgy gear box and no aircon. The car advertised on Discover Cars was a Fiat Tipo or similar with aircon.

Cons: Terrible car in poor condition, poorly maintained, brakes worn out, clutch almost gone, and couldn’t use air conditioning when going uphill.

Cons: The car was a little bit dirty. The seats were stained. The pick-up location is not correct in the description or in the emails. It was not clear at all where to find it. The main office is not mentioned in the description, but it would be helpfull because maybe we could find that faster than the pick-up location.

Cons: When we picked up the car, Surprise told us that the interior could not be "dirty" at drop-off. It was really not dirty, only some sand and dust at the feet of the driver, because the mat at the feet of the driver was not usable (completely worn out). They didn't accept the car "because it was dirty". We had either to pay 100 euro or to let the car "vacuum cleaned". They said this was an agreement with Discover cars, to put the price at a lower level. They were very rude and unfriendly.

Cons: There was no shuttle at the arrivals to meet us, we spent 15 mins dragging our suitcases around to try and fine their shack. Then when we did we had to wait in the heat for another 10 mins until a minibus arrived. Then we had to load our cases into the minibus ( no help offered and we’re not that agile) and rode for another 5 mins to the office. We then had to unload our cases (again no help). The ‘same to same’ fuel policy meant we had to fill the car up on collection and leave unused petrol

Pros: Staff were welcoming and professional on arrival and the best thing was we were able to return our car quickly with no issues

Cons: Ordered and paid extra for a Citroen C3 (or similar), got a 2004 Opel Astra (don’t see how this is equivalent). Very old car, first generation automatic that I would need to remove my foot for it to change gears. Crete is mountainous - it really struggled to drive up. Had to really accelerate up a steep road and ended up skidding slightly. Would not use this company again.

We do not know how much extra fuel (diesel) we gave them because of the faulty gauge, but approximately 12 liters = Approximately 20.00 euros. This was based on filling the tank and watching the kilometer mileage. Also, we had arranged for a delivery of the car to our home and Surprice canceled this service at the last minute. We then had to hire a taxi which cost us 40.00 euros.
