CarQ at Crete Airport Heraklion

Cons: The vehicle was in poor condition. The steering wheel was too loose, making it difficult to control. Although they told me the tank was full, the fuel gauge dropped a level just a couple of minutes into the ride. The price was low, but next time I would choose a more reliable rental service.

Pros: It was a good price and a brand new car, and the agents were very helpful.

Cons: The car was a B category car, but had a very week engine - Seat Ibiza, my guess 1.0 3 cylinder 60 or 75 hp, with very little power up the hills. It was slower than all the A category rental cars and couldn't overtake in a mild incline.

Cons: The fee is quite high for out of hours pickup or late come (flights are delayed so often). So expect a 20 euro fee for 1 hour delay and an extra 40 euro for ooh.

Pros: The speed of the service, picking up and drop off. WhatsApp customer support

Cons: Charged us 20€ for being 1h late without showing us the terms and conditions for it and not presenting invoice of it. Not transparent at all. Also, prohibited us from going to a specific road on the island without offering alternatives to do so. Finally, to many scratches in the car that although not serious made us take photos and videos of it

Cons: My flight was delayed and I received an email saying that if I did not show up soon they would charge me

Pros: CarQ conacted me a day earlier to instruct where to find the booking office. On site the process was quick and smooth.

Cons: Not really CarQ fault but I expected the discovercar full coverage to be enough. Instead I was told 100€ extra must be paid for full coverage, which I did not expect.

Cons: That they talk me a big fee for delayed in my flights, additional 80 euro which is a lot and is not fair

Pros: Korina was friendly, efficient and spent time explaining things about the car when we picked it up. She is an asset to the company.

Cons: The car was full of scratches and it was also not cleaned inside. When returning the car the Agents claimed that new scratches had appeared, which more felt like their business model to get more money. They had already tried to force me to take full insurance when picking up the car, though I explained to them several times that I have full coverage from DiscoveryCars. When returning the csr I did not get any document or receipt of returning the car nor on the alleged new scratches.

Cons: We got charged 350 euros from the 750 euros deposit for the faintest of scratches on the rear bumper which we assume must have been there beforehand but it was so small that we didn't notice it when doing the initial damage report. This was at the Heraklion airport office in Crete, where several other customers have experienced the same thing (ref. trust pilot). The claimed damage repair costs didn't match at all with the plastic bumper scratches (paintwork, body rework labour).

Pros: The lady at the desk was very helpfull and patient aq I had a problem with my credit card and had to contact my bank what took some time. Upon return and after the chack of the car they returned the €750 deposit immeditaly. After having more than 30 times rented a car in Heraklion, this was by far the best experience.

Pros: The agent contacted me a few hours before the pick-up via WhatsApp, describing how to find the rental desk. The pick-up was very fast and I received an upgrade for free. The car looked new and was very clean. Thank you!

Cons: The only thing I was uncertain about was that I would be dropping the car off at 6am and I was told by the agent that there would likely be nobody to pick the car up. I expect this is normal, but I wasn't sure what would happen in case the agent later discovered a problem with the car. Fortunately there was no problem in my case :)

Pros: Efficient, cost effective, rented car was ideal for our needs.

Cons: We bought additional insurance cover when booking online, but found out on picking the car up if we needed to claim we would need to make all arrangements and pay for repairs etc ourselves, and then be reimbursed. Although we didn’t need to call on the insurance, if we did need to, I imagine it would’ve put us to a great deal of time and hassle, which no doubt would ruin a holiday. Would be preferable for all insurance arrangements to be handled by the car rental company.

Pros: Kvinden der arbejde på stedet var meget flink og hjælpsom. Ikke hendes skyld der er dårlige biler og autostole uden isofix.

Cons: Det tog 2 timer at få udleveret en lovlig bil. Ingen kompensation for ventetiden. Betalte for stationcar selvom fik udleveret en Hyundai i20, og det kunne ikke ændres. Dårlig måde at starte ferien med, at blive præsenteret for to stationcars i dårlig stand og lovlige dæk.

Cons: They are scammers! First of all they came back after I had made the reservation online and said they only had a more expensive car available, which I then accepted. When we got to the rental place, the car was VERY beat up! It had several dents and scratches all around, and the windshield wipers, we soon found out, were completely falling apart. When we returned the car after the week, they claimed we had made damage to an already damaged part and kept our deposit.

Cons: We got a bit smaller car. Renault clio Instead of citroen c3. While picking the car on the website c3 was more expensive.

Cons: Car condition: gear box was on the edge of breaking (loud noises when changing from 2nd to 1st gear and huge lags with shifting gears). Condition not suitable for mountain roads of Crete. We had to change our trip routes because of that.

Pros: The communication with CarQ was fast. We mostly talked over WhatsApp chat, and the woman from CarQ was always quick and ready to reply to my questions. This is the only thing I liked from CarQ.

Cons: So far my worst experience with car renting. I rented VW Polo for 3 days. While picking it up, the carQ said to me I would get an upgrade. But in reality, it was a horrible downgrade with an old Chevrolet hatchback. The car has dents that I can not finish counting. The right armrest came out by itself while driving. At some point, I heard noises whenever I pressed the brake paddle. To be honest, I did not feel safe while driving that car. So never ever going to rent from CarQ again.

Huge disappointment, great frustration, was forced to find a new car much more expensive after we landed in Heraklion during high season while carrying all our luggage along with my sick mother. Totally unacceptable!!! Totally unprofessional!! Waiting a refund through PayPal. Wish there was a way to rate below 0 for this fraud!!!
