Pros: Goldcar had the best deal for renting a car for over a week (around 55 euros!). The car was in perfect condition and they provide extra services if you need (such as insurance, baby car seat). They provide a free transport from/to the airport to/from their office.

Cons: The free shuttle transports you from a car park near the airport. It is very close but not easy to find (need to ask another kiosk around). And there is only a sign with a number to call in order for someone to pick you up within 15/20min.

Pros: We were unable to collect our car as the rental office was closed when we got there. We were delayed getting out of the terminal by passport control and they had shut up shop and gone home. Leaving us stranded at the airport. We had to hire a car through a different agency who even drove us down to the Goldcar office to see if anyone was there but in the 15 mins we were delayed they had just gone.

Cons: I had bought online a full coverage discover car hire insurance for 139.94 euros but i was told by the agent that this insurance was completely useless and offered a new insurance from them which I refused. I was also told that I had agreed to pay a tank service for 25 euros and they added them to my bill.

Cons: The agents lied about the reason the gas tank was not full when I was picking up the car. The office was not open when I dropped off the car; I had a ferry to catch and could not wait. I called the office several times after drop-off and no one ever answered the phone. Lastly, I just checked my credit card and have a random $530 charge that I now have to dispute.

Cons: Made reservation on Kayak while travelling. Arrived and very rude and unhelpful attendant informed me I could not rent without international license. I had just rented for a week in Athens with no mention of international license. He pointed to the email that I had signed in the "small print" showing I must have an international license. And then went on to say also we were supposed to have arrived earlier in the day as our contract stated. We were charged deposit. I feel it should be returned

Pros: Not much, and because I can only type so much below this is an extension of what I disliked. No contract provided before the charge of my card all of which was in Greek. No sign documents provided upon providing a full gas tank on drop-off - we will likely never see this $180 hold.

Cons: Where do I begin? Agreed to their low quote of $79, but we’re essentially forced by fear to pay over $400 for a five day rental. Representative stated that they would not accept my Alaska Airlines rental car coverage and had to pay for their full insurance instead. When I say “fear” he alluded that if there was a small scratch we would have to shell out more than $300 upon drop-off of the car. Another $180 was put on hold in case we didn’t fill the entire gas tank up. We still have a hold.

Cons: The car rental agents were a little stiff. Expensive rentals and did not get an explanation of how to pick up the car, we were searching the airport for a while before realizing there was a shuttle to the rental agency.

Pros: The driver, George, who dropped us off at the airport was friendly. Only worker who was pleasant. The others were not at all.

Cons: 1) Unclear fees for purchasing insurance online. We took the insurance online but was told at pick-up that the online insurance we ordered wasn't travel insurance. 2) Operational costs were not mentioned online. Paid triple. 3) We picked up our car at 15:30 on Friday. We found out the next day that our flight was delayed. We called twice to see if we could drop off the car at 15:00 on Sunday (not over 24hrs). Representative told us it was impossible. Very unaccommodating. *Will never use again.

Cons: condition of car: various autobody damages but no report from Goldcar listing / showing the damages service / insurance flexibility no responses on 2 mails sent to them requesting to be charged in CHF and not in EUR >> consequence: Goldcar seems not to be trustworthy and therefore it will be my last Goldcar rental

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1100.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, VAT (value added tax), Free modifications.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

Maximum rental age is 80 years.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 75.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Driver licenses will be accepted if issued in the following country(ies): Switzerland, United Kingdom, EU.
Driver licenses from all other countries must be accompanied with International Driving Permit (IDP).
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.
For driver licenses from countries not party to the Geneva / Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (e.g., China), an official translation of the license in the following language(s): English, together with the original license, must be presented.
Deposit and deductible policy
A separate fuel deposit is required when collecting the vehicle.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age).

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.


Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Additional information
In case of renting at the airport location, the customer must provide a valid flight number in order to make a reservation.
Winter tires are not mandatory in Greece.
Business hours
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 29 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
