Autocandia at Crete Airport Heraklion

Pros: The staff was very friendly and professional, the pickup and drop-off were quick and efficient, and the car was clean and in excellent condition. Everything was explained clearly,. Overall, it felt smooth, reliable, and stress-free.

Cons: Nothing to mention. Everything went smoothly.

Cons: After 4 weeks still the deposit of 700 euro is still active Full policy full to empty is very bad policy. Tank was not full because after 10 km driving the tank level dropped. Also according the agency the capicity of the tank was larger then what was written on the factory site of skoda

Pros: Everything was fine. We ordered Skoda Fabia or similar, we got Peugeot 208 with multimedia and Bluetooth and lane tracking and parking sensors. Staff is very nice and polite. When I come to Crete again, I’ll use Autocandia again. Recommend.

Cons: The priče of kids safety seats is crazy high, however, still cheapest I could find. But even with that, the price for renting the child seat for 11 days is around 80% of the new one (and Autocania still cheapest). I wish rent-a-car companies in Crete show some good will and rent it for at least 70% cheaper price.

Cons: Our plane was late and we were charged late collection fee, the car was fully filled and we were charged for full tank though we returned it with 1/3 tank. Car itself was fine but had bad cigarette smell so if you left any things in it for too long - it would smell- we were travelling a lot so not great if you have to take all of the things out of it each time. I’d recommend proper anti smoke clean.

Our paperwork specifically said that the car included a tank of gas so we were to pick it up full and return it empty but the agent wanted to charge us $94 additional for that. Our plane was late so they charged us $25 extra when we arrived. Our flight out was cancelled so instead of returning the car when they closed, we returned it first thing in the morning and they charged us for an entire extra day. First time we've had such a bad experience in Crete!

They told me to call them on the second day to exchange the car since they didn't have any better on my arrival but when I called they tried to convince me the car they had gave me was of the same class as the one I had booked online. Cons: So it works basically like this. You book via Discovery Cars a a car with full coverage. Discovery cars take the half of the charge already from your credit card(but you did not know that). You come to Auto Candia, you show the voucher that you have agreed on. You pay the amount and at the end of your vacation you basically realise you have paid double for the same service which is "Full Insurance". You contact Discovery Cars, they basically tell you " you agreed on double payment".STAY AWAY!

Cons: The pre-purchase of the fuel. This was on top of the expected rental price. It then puts you under pressure to use the fuel to get good value. Better to return full. They like other car hire companies are extremely picky about any minor items on returning the car when you have not purchased the full cover option (when you have your own excess protection).

Cons: Car had many minor damaged that were not all recorded the paper which you get when picking it up.

Cons: Although I specifically hired a category B (over A that is cheaper) in order to receive a better than basic car, At pick up I was given a rather old and warn out car comparing to all other available cars at the site that were new. As representative explained, the new cars were of category A and the only category B car available was the one I was given. At return however they were several new category B cars. Note, the car was maintained well enough to be operational.
