This is now a recurring problem in Italy, that they always look for a fault, even if there isn't one... We didn't get the type of car we rented. They tried to cheat with the petrol amount.

Cons: I picked up the car on a very dark parking lot at 9pm at night. I went briefly through looking for nick and scratches with the agent who had a small flasch light, but did not look inch by inch and certainly not on the black plastic bumper or near the wheel. Upon my return they claimed a 1 cm cut at the plastic bumper and a small scratch near the wheel. I had full insurance coverage!! I paid more for the insurance than the actual car rental. Now they sent me a claim to pay 200.00 euros. SCAM!!

First by discovery cars, than an extra impressive fee for insurance, and vat was not included in price and was charged extra. finally, a €500 deposit fee was taken from my visa in a Minuit, but to be retained back will take 2weeks with an excuse that banks will delay...why not delayed when charged too??? any explanation please? or may be to make interest charges from that too? or cash flow reasons?

The pin block issue became apparent when we needed to use the card for the security deposit. The person behind the counter was rude, unhelpful and uninterested in helping us in our predicament. A valuable lesson learned!

The employees didn’t seem bothered by it either. On returning the car, I noticed a small scratch and took a photo, but two days later, the report showed much more damage. On pick up they had no record of this so they only had a larger car at an additional cost of €73. The car however was a small one like that first booked-not larger! I was also told there was no record of the deposit paid: AU$45! The car had scratches & dents! On return they said there was another small scratch! I did not scrap the car! I will pursue this if the €200 is taken!

When we picked it up it was difficult to see the actual condition as it was black and very sunny outside. We were rushed and did not feel it was handled professionally . When we drove away the warning for oil change came on. Clearly not a well cared for automobile

Cons: The treatment by the affiliated company, EasyCarHire, was close to highway robbery. At first, upon arriving, we were forced to "upgrade" to "full coverage" because the credit card we planned to use, was in name of other person than the main driver. Second, upon returning the car, the company worker identified a minor scratch on our bumper , which would made us loose 200 euro deposit, because "full coverage didnt apply". Overall, they made us pay 400 euro extra on 450 euro rental.

Cons: They evidently wanted more money from us than was in the reservation. They wanted us to buy their insurance in addition to full coverage, which we already purchased in advance. When we politely refused their "more than full coverage", the agent's behavior was very unpleasant. Also, when returning the car, they wanted to write a damage report for the micro-dent, which they "forgot" to wrote in the report when we picked up the car. Luckily, we had photos as proof.
