Ecovia at Catania Fontanarossa Airport

Pros: Very little

Cons: The car windscreen was filthy inside, I had to buy cleaning materials to make it safe to drive. The parcel shelf was broken, so hard to hide luggage when you left the car. We could only fit 1 suitcase in the boot although I specified 2 on the booking. The tyres were very damaged - appalling, they would be illegal in the UK. I never drove over 90 km/hr as a result!

Pros: they are very close to airport. Good cars and help full

Cons: This is the first time that I rented a car from Ecovia and for this trip i can't complain

Cons: They are still holding 500 EUR of my credit three weeks after the car was returned as received and with a full tank. This is simply not acceptable.

Cons: They made me pay an extra insurance of 400 euros for 11 days because I had a problem with my credit card. Apart from that they still haven't returned my 500 euros deposit (it has been 24hours since I returned the car back)

Cons: This is for Ecovia. Upon return, they found a scuff on the wheel they determined was damage. Maybe because we paid for full coverage? They said it was our responsibility to have seen this and taken a photo before leaving. It was so small we would not have seen it. It took over 45 minutes and we had to quickly leave. They were not clear about what I was signing to let me leave. It felt like a corrupt situation and a terrible end to a wonderful vacation. I would NOT recommend this Ecovia.

Pros: First 9 seater van we got had a defective sliding door. I went back to the airport the next day and Vera in Catania was very helpful in getting me a new van

Cons: More than twenty days after drop off have passed and my security deposit is still blocked, I do not recommend Ecovia.

Cons: Disgusting. I was unable to hire a car and the money I paid through your service was wasted. I was 15 min late for the selection time and the rental manager demanded an extra 60 euros. I refused and he offered me to take the car the next day in the morning on the condition of booking. But in the morning the manager informed me that there is no car of such class, but there is a more expensive one, for which I have to pay extra and buy a new full insurance. This significantly exceeded my budget,

Pros: At pickup at Catania airport they were initially very insistent on selling me more insurance. Described the insurance I had with you as "having no meaning." Wanted me to take insurance from them and get a reimbursement from you. After I politely refused several times, a more pleasant woman took over and insurance was not mentioned again. The car was not cleaned and was beaten up, but did the job. Drop off in Palermo was easy and efficient.

Cons: Arrived 2 hours prior to booked time due to flight time change and car was not available. The the car they did make available after coming back had many dents and scratches plus approx 70,000 km on the clock; it sounded very ropey but it do the job and was not problem for the trip. Hence Im marking them down for lack of flexibility on pick up and condition of car

Cons: Hard to find the office , first car had a broken usb port which meant no device charging and map reading etc. But upgraded for reasonable extra rate

Said "Call your broker if you are not satisfied ". You don't have a phone to call so I paid more money. It was very bad experience.

Cons: The time it took to process on pick up was nearly an hour;we were required to sign a contract that we hadn't seen before they would release car; and no-one accompanied us to find the allocated car which was blocked in rather than ready for us to drive away.It was like we had just turned up without any prior booking.Returning the car was almost as bad with nowhere to park.

Cons: The fuel policies must be full to full. We received a 3/4 and deliver back almost full :(

Cons: For an 'eco' car rental company it's quite odd to give people a diesel car... The car was gross - it had not been cleaned. There was a lot of damage to the car.

Cons: Ecovia refused to accept my debit card for the full coverage (but could use it for 50% of it, which I still dont understand) and I had to buy an extra insurance for 339EUR (9 days). Basically this insurance cost more than the car rental itself (264EUR). Discovercars presented this credit card condition in a really hided place of the website (they promoted their own insurance which I bought for 30eur in a half page size, highlighted box. 30 vs 339. Really?

Cons: Although we had taken full cover insurance out with discover car, ecovia tried to sell more insurance and we found this quite disconcerting. On collection The car was full of dents and scratches , no water in window wash, tyre needed pumping up, unclean but apparently we were given a free upgrade! Received no instructions on cars gadgets and cars navigator which we paid extra for needs an update

Pros: The engine heat lamp came on when I got to Mount Athena, I had to go back to the company, she asked me to go to the gas station to refuel and they changed my car. I wasted almost a whole day of the trip
