Sonic Car Rental at Miami Airport

Cons: Despite having pre-paid for insurance and showing them that they wouldn't let us leave without buying their very expensive insurance. Then on dropping off the car, despite both insurances they took ages to write up about a scratch on the fender and told us another bill will be sent to us!! I couldn''t reach them by phone for many tries when we were to be picked up at the airport for transfer to their office. The pick up 'shuttle' was only a car for 5 of us with all our luggage

Pros: Sonic Cars are very dubious operators. It took me an hour to get the car and whilst I was there they forced every customer to take expensive car insurance despite me saying I had your full cover. When I said I would call Discover Cars to sort out as per your instructions the man said he would cancel my rental if I did so, but would not let me or any other person take a copy of their terms of hire. When I dropped the car off they checked the outside but I couldn't check what costs they will add

Cons: I will call you to discuss the above as I feel I was backed into a very expensive corner and didn't want to spoil our holiday

Pros: We had a very bad experience. The pick up point is off site away from all the other rental companies. It took us 2hrs to find & get there.

Cons: I was charged in the uk online for the total cost but when we arrived they asked for over 400 dollars more! We walked away.

Pros: Location was close to the airport. Really pleasing pick up and drop off routine by the team, slick and efficient.

Cons: I was hit with hundreds of pounds of undeclared costs when arriving to pick up the vehicle. This included significant amounts each day for insurance which wasn't explained as being optional. Original costs were incorrect until challenged. We booked an SUV and were given a 4 door car which had fault lights on the dashboard and low pressure indications on the tyres. In addition, the car was handed over with 1/4 tank of fuel. Less than ideal with a 5 hour drive ahead of us.

Pros: Efficient work , good car

Cons: They charged me 600 usd more than was in booking confirmation. They said these charges are mandatory. They could not put in writing when asked. But if so then discovercars did not provide me with correct information at the booking confirmation. If these charges are not mandatory then the company lied to me and damaged me financially. Case is ongoing

Cons: We never got to pick the car up!! Was unable to make contact with car company to arrange pick up for the shuttle bus as mobile Would not call the number, very few pay phones located in the airport and when we did find some and put money in they didn’t work, which meant we’d spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to contact the car company and missed the cut off time for collection. Lost our deposit and had no car for our holiday.

Cons: Service was poor. Communication was poor on arrival. I truly believe we have been ripped off, so many apparent “mandatory/legally required” additional charges. Something I could not confirm on the internet, and not something DiscoverCars flagged and not something I have experienced renting cars in the USA before. What looks like a deal turned out to be very expensive! The late pick up and location left us feeling we had to pay or we were going to be stranded.

Cons: They are not transparent, ended up paying 200 more than agreement and they wanted to charge me an extra 300 for insurance. They did not want to honor my own insurance

Pros: Nothing. That name did not exist at the location. Another name did. The desk agent put $1000 more in charges on top of $130 it was supposed to cost us. We have suspended the contract right away and will never use your company every again

Cons: In the fine print, they only allowed certain insurance to be used. I have a nationally known insurance provider and they still required me to buy their insurance. No one spoke English when I was trying to ask questions about the service they provided. They harassed me over text and phone call when I was returning the vehicle.

Pros: This company, part of “Florida cars” and “go cars” all a con! Do not rent from them. They pick you up all quickly but once you’re in their office they want you to pay almost 10 times as much as what you were quoted and agreed on with discover card.

Cons: The charges when booked online was $56, but at the desk they tried to charge me north of $700 for same rental. $100 per day for insurance while I pay that much for my personal car for month. Over that $44 per day airport charges while they are not located in the airport, and $20/day for tolls. Waited 2 hrs for pickup to go thier office.

Cons: Too slow to pick up from airport. Cost was too high but was stuck since away from airport. Took almost 3hrs to get a car and drive away. Felt completely mislead and many customers there were frustrated and canceled there reservation

Pros: Nothing. It was terrible. Will never use it again. The staff didn’t know what they were doing and the additional hidden fees were unreasonable. I ended up canceling my reservation.

Pros: Car had something wrong with it. Made a lot of noise while driving. Wheel bearings

Cons: The staff was rude. Only one person could not handle 2 clients. Did not explain additional items and feel overcharged for the car.

Cons: Extra,extra costs. No upfront price of extras. Started as a good deal, them was as costly as everyone else’s without the convenience of airport pickup.

Cons: So much to mention. Original price quoted was $288 per week. Pick up instructions were to call a number. No one answered, after further investigation we were asked to call a number which then we were told when speaking to someone that we needed to send a WhatsApp. After over an hour we were picked up be a pleasant lady and taken 15 mins to an offsite road. The price including $19 compulsory ‘sun pass’ toll device was then raised to $1100. When I refused we were left on an industrial estate….

Cons: The agents keep saying they can’t do anything for the mandatory fees. I canceled the rental.
