Americars Auto Rental at Miami Airport

Pros: The delivery of the car took longer than expected, the office was closed. We should have dropped it off at 07h30 Am

Pros: The young lady who helped me get going was trying to be helpful.

Cons: Although my reservation implied I had full insurance coverage, I was told at the rental counter that I needed to spend another $75 for additional required coverage. And although I had my own "EZ Pass" I was required to use the rental company's toll pass. Finally, they took a $1000 deposit on my credit card - five times the normal amount!!

Cons: At the airport we don't know where your office is. No directions are indicated. We searched for more than an hour. the second thing is that on your car rental site I had ordered a car with car insurance. when I arrived at your offices they told me that I had not taken out insurance on the site. I had 5 children and it took us a long time to find the office to get the car so I couldn't do anything.

Cons: The company charged me for insurance that I didn't need or asked for. The representative at the counter outright deceived me and provided information that was completely false. I already had all the insurance I needed through Discover Cars. I've been trying for several months to get my money back, but they don't even respond. Extremely unprofessional company. I'm going to Florida again in October, but I'll avoid this company. Not recommended.

Cons: Extra costs the employee tried to charge us like third party insurance. Extra costs for Sunpass per day is ridiculous $7,99 per day! Drop off was adress was incorrect and very unclear. No signs where to go to. We had to ask a fewtimes and upon arrival there was no one there. Just a look a like office where we left our keys and car.

Cons: I had rented the car by discover cars with basic insurance, the car rental agent at the moment of rental told me I had to buy the supplementary insurance or I could get a ticket and since I am a foreigner and no familiarized with the law I bought it which drove up the price rental I the realized this was not true. The tank was not full at the moment of the rental and the car seats had very nasty stains of an ocre color not very nice to see or sit on.

Cons: Renter tried to sell additional insurance even after we said we had a full cover already purchased via Discovery Cars, Unfortunately we got involved in accident, were third party has reversed onto our parked empty car, when we reached renter to report (as per their rental agreement) they simply just told us to ring Discovery Cars and refused to talk to us what should we actually do next

Pros: Sunpass service (no hidden costs, only $25 activation fee paid once + any toll fee if you use any toll road), we booked with full coverage, so they did not force or try to sell useless, additional services.

Cons: The car had some scratches, stains on the seats and none of this was recorded in the contract photos. We had to make our own videos to be sure before driving the car. (although they said they had more photos of the vehicle in their database - You never know!) The right side of the bumper was not screwed in properly or was not properly fitted in and therefore was not aligned with the right side of the car

Cons: This is definitely not a top car rental agency. They took a very non-reasonable amount of time when picking up the car, the information that you have TPL included in the rental is FALSE (!!) and they gave us a dirty, old and faulty car. We had to change our plans and find their office in another city to replace the car. Beware of the places where they have office: they are a very small company with a few offices in the USA. If your car fails and you are in the middle of a trip... be prepared!

Cons: The only thing you could have done better was to inform us that the car already had a SatNav system. We could have picked the Wi-Fi system for the instead of an extra SatNav that we didn't use. I asked the person if the car had a navegation system already and she said NO. If she had said "I don't know" I could have checked before we left the car rental office.

Pros: Family operated business allows for a more personal relationship with the customer. I felt like I was borrowing the car from one of my relatives but still, with professionalism and business respect and appreciation.

Cons: Their new location near the airport was a little tricky to find during the drop off caused by some road works that was keeping their street completely closed to the public, however it was resolved quickly with a phone call.
