Americars Auto Rental at Miami Airport

Pros: Renter have picked us up very quickly, dropping off the damaged vehicle (not our fault) was surprisingly smooth, deposit returned back in time (minus toll deductions which were agreed), good price, reliable car

Cons: Renter tried to sell additional insurance even after we said we had a full cover already purchased via Discovery Cars, Unfortunately we got involved in accident, were third party has reversed onto our parked empty car, when we reached renter to report (as per their rental agreement) they simply just told us to ring Discovery Cars and refused to talk to us what should we actually do next

Pros: Sunpass service (no hidden costs, only $25 activation fee paid once + any toll fee if you use any toll road), we booked with full coverage, so they did not force or try to sell useless, additional services.

Cons: The car had some scratches, stains on the seats and none of this was recorded in the contract photos. We had to make our own videos to be sure before driving the car. (although they said they had more photos of the vehicle in their database - You never know!) The right side of the bumper was not screwed in properly or was not properly fitted in and therefore was not aligned with the right side of the car

Pros: They left very clear instructions making the pick up and drop off of vehicles super easy. Very responsive on Whats up.

Cons: the car was dangerous with a bald tyre and hadnt been checked and then the support offered was woeful

Cons: This is definitely not a top car rental agency. They took a very non-reasonable amount of time when picking up the car, the information that you have TPL included in the rental is FALSE (!!) and they gave us a dirty, old and faulty car. We had to change our plans and find their office in another city to replace the car. Beware of the places where they have office: they are a very small company with a few offices in the USA. If your car fails and you are in the middle of a trip... be prepared!

Cons: They never answered on whats up when we texted at the airport to come and pick us up so we had to make a phonecall which is very expansive from our country code.

Cons: They LIED that they will send me an invoice for the tolls incurred after 6 day from the dropoff. They charged me>90 US$ instead of ~50 with no explanation. They did not allow me to use my own transponder which contradicts their own terms of contract! I kept track of all my tolls (easy, as I was commuting) and tried to reach them but they won't reply...

Cons: Our vehicle had a faulty battery and we were without transport for three days. It took around 8 hours and nearly 60 phone calls to get them to accept responsibility and do something about it. There was no apology or offer of compensation from Americars.

Pros: Very help personnel, dropped us at the airport on the exact place of our departure. The car as in very god condition too.

Cons: The only thing you could have done better was to inform us that the car already had a SatNav system. We could have picked the Wi-Fi system for the instead of an extra SatNav that we didn't use. I asked the person if the car had a navegation system already and she said NO. If she had said "I don't know" I could have checked before we left the car rental office.

Cons: We ordered a minivan for four adults a 2 children, 1 of them adult size. We obviously has 6 full size cases and 6 hand luggage cases. The boot on the toyota highlander would only fit 5 hand luggage cases. Luckily my son lives there and took all the other cases in his truck.

Pros: Very smooth. The lady that picked me up and delivered the car to me was so friendly and supportive. The team recieved the car from me was very fast and proffissional.

Cons: The way to be picked up from airport was so confusing. And i waited for more than 60.mins till someone show up and picked me from airport.

Pros: Family operated business allows for a more personal relationship with the customer. I felt like I was borrowing the car from one of my relatives but still, with professionalism and business respect and appreciation.

Cons: Their new location near the airport was a little tricky to find during the drop off caused by some road works that was keeping their street completely closed to the public, however it was resolved quickly with a phone call.
