Cons: We did not receive a full tank of petrol at beginning which was stated in the contract. They used my debit card then said they couldn't use it and would refund me but never did. They insisted on having authorisation of another bank card. They used first card on car drop off. Stressful! They gave us a much larger car (Toyota CHR) than I booked for (VW polo). On return of car, we were told to vacuum the car, otherwise pay an extra 28 euro & I found it difficult to find a vacuum service.

At drop off we questioned a $50 admin fee and they laughed shrugged their shoulders and said Italy…ask for manager they acted like the didn’t understand and when we asked for their names to give when we called corporate they refused to give them to us and told us to blame the Rome pickup for everything. (We dropped car off in Venice)

Cons: The money that I had spent for insurance did not cover the car. They charged me again for the insurance. They did not have an automatic car that I had ordered so I had to take a standard. One of the tires had a slow leak so I had to fill it up every day. When I told them about it. They said I had run over something. I would have to pay. When I said I was just being kind that I had full coverage. They waved me off. I am sure some future person will get stuck paying. Not good.

I said the car was not clean to the agent but all they said is that it had been cleaned and it would be noted on my contract, poor form! It did not identify that this vehicles as a hybrid when I made the booking, however it was and was very low on power driving on the motorway. The hybrid did not work over about 25 degrees and Italian is hot in August.

Pros: Easy booking and straightforward pickup. Car was great, reliable and in good condition. We would certainly use rentalplus again, with more bodywork photos for our own security.

Cons: The exterior of the car was very dirty and dusty on pickup, so it wasn't easy for us to see minor scratches to make notes of them. This then caused a bit of a dispute on drop off over a very small scuff on the wing mirror not made by us, or noticed by us on pickup. Agents go straight to wing mirrors to check for damage, so lesson learnt in the future - take your own pictures of wing mirrors! Take your own pictures of everything, don't rely on the agents previous damage reports.

Pros: I had booked an Audi A3, however on taking delivery of car I was not offered the same or even a similar category car. I was downgraded by two levels and offered an Opel Astra. When I tried to refuse Rental Plus told me they would still charge me full. Having no option and being on my Honeymoon I forcefully took delivery. I have filed claim but have received no response on compensation. False marketing and shameful behavior of your company.

Pros: The car was a good match to what I reserved. The service at the desk was very professional.

Cons: Car was not fully and properly inspected before handing over keys - this added 20 minutes to the pick up but the agent was helpful and made the needed photos and notes to the order so I was not held liable for prior damages.

Cons: The car was terrible. They upgraded me to a larger car, which I didn't want in Italy. The Opel Mokka was junk. It didn't handle well, was uncomfortable, not good on gas, several blind spots and the information display didn't work properly. It kept resetting every 20 minutes or so with a loud pop. It also had very little room for luggage for the size of the car.

Pros: I was afraid to rent a car in italy because most of the reviews have people complaining about scams, but with rental plus everything worked fine. We picked the car at rome Airport without any issues. Just be aware to have a credit card in the name of the renter with available credit for the security deposit. The car was according our expectations, and we didn't have any trouble returning the car at the airport. Just make sure to do the checklist of the vehicle together with a staff team.

Pros: The pick up in Rome was ok and conveniently located, although the airport is not listing Rental Plus as one of the car rental companies so you can’t follow signs and have to read the instructions in the email. This should have been a red flag but we went with it.

We were scheduled to drop off the car at Malpensa airport, but the drop off place is not at the airport which is nowhere noted in the contract and the paperwork emailed to us. Pros: Both cars were great. First car was defective (service engine light came on the second day driving it) but as it was brand new and I was the first driver, I can’t fault the rental company. They quickly made a second car available (upgraded us to a luxury auto at no additional expense and it handled great).

Cons: Our flight was delayed from Australia to Rome. When we arrived to pickup our car, we were told "we gave your car away. Bad luck. We can't help you. No refund" Such a horrible way to start our holiday after we had book our car months in advance.
