It was pouring rain when we picked it up and we’re not able to take video of Cond of Car. Tried to charge us for two tiny 1 mm paint chips that were there when we rented the car. Long wait to have him check the car out on return. phone numbers for agent listed in Discover email or incorrect and disconnected.

Pros: Fast car pickup and also drop off, clean car, cheap price. The car we got was in good technical condition, but with lots of dents and scratches (all marked, so no problem at drop-off). Transfer to airport -> pick-up point not marked clearly, although the instructions on the voucher are clear (you need to walk up to the first floor and wait for the shuttle/van). Phones were busy, but we managed after all.

Cons: What I liked least: upon drop-off we were simply told to walk back to the airport due to heavy traffic (shuttle is stuck + takes long to get there). We got no clear instructions on how to get there on foot. It's doable with a small luggage (2 kms/30min walk) but if you have heavy luggage... Now, was it the first time there was a jam? Also, I'd have appreciated the info to reserve more time to get to the terminal already upon pick-up, not at return! Small details make the difference.

We arrived at 22:35, but our calls were declined. We sent a message at 22:50 and waited 40 minutes for pick-up. The staff member (woman) at the counter was very unpleasant, pushed extra insurance despite our “full coverage,” and still demanded the night surcharge. We refused. NO MORE! The feelings was very bad because of this.

Pros: Once we found the shuttle, the experience was much easier. There was no signage for the rental company. Luckily, a Hertz customer service agent told us was to do. The shuttle driver was excellent. I was unaware that we needed an appointment for airport pick up. The Rentsmart 24 agent was condescending and scolded me for being 4 hours late because our flight was delayed. She was upset that I did not call ahead to change my appointment. The shuttle driver received all 5 stars given.

The car was due an oil change in 1200km (we drove exactly that amount), wipers were very worn, parcel shelf was broken making it difficult to use and the car lacked any optional extra equipment like parking censors.
