Cons: They did not answer the phone when I called for pick up - called 5 times. Had to take a taxi to get the car (35 euros) and they continually tried to sell us insurance we did not need.

Cons: Vehicle was prepaid and given away upon arrival. Company forced us to rent an upper class vehicle for > 3x the price of original booking dispute having a similar class vehicle available. Discovery Cars did not facilitate or provide any options. Both GaldierieRent and Discover Cars took their pay and did not honour the original purchase agreement. Many other customers experienced this same SCAM!!

When we ask to change car, we were told that rental car are not new car, & they asked -“can the door open and close?, if can then it’s okay!” and they insisted that they don’t have other car which is not dented in the same category. Ended up with alpha Romeo which in the end I was okay with paying extra as it drove very well and didn’t add any extra stress for driving in Italy, especially the amalfi coast.Deposit is high 1200eur

We had rented several times before with Discover cars in many european countries with no problem whatsoever. This time (and for the first time in decades of travelling to Europe), we were denied our paid for rental when showing our Canadian drivers licence in spite of the fact that the contract states that :

Canadian driver licences are written in French or in English thus in Roman letters. Basically we were left stranded without a car and no refund. As we had booked several reservations in Toscany, we returned to the airport and rented a car with one of the well established car rental companies and had no problems whatsoever with our Canadian drivers lic

Cons: They did not accept my Singapore driver licence in English and insisted on an international licence. They also did not accept my credit card that had no credit card number printed on it for security purposes. They could accept both my Singapore licence and credit card IF I paid Euros 378.20 more for insurance that I already bought with DiscoverCars. When I returned the car, they did not refund me the Euros 100 deposit!

Pros: Airport pickup and drop-off were helpful, but we had to call GaldieriRent to get the driver to pick us up, as he initially refused. Once that was resolved, the shuttle and drop-off went smoothly.

If you buy their insurance it is OK to get the car 2 hours before the time in the reservation, and they treated you better. For the car ordered, Jeep Renegade, they have it only Diesel and they charge 2 Euro extra per day.

I explain to them that on the rental document (Discovery cars) that the document asked is a government issued Driving

Pros: Good price and pick up from the airport

Cons: Never answer the phone. Gave me the car empty, I had to negociate to make them put gas in it (even though we had booked full to full). We had to wait because they had to go to the station to put gas in it. Car was dirty all outside, difficult to see if they were scratches. When we gave it back, they asked to see the photos and videos we took before checking the car (to compare) and i refused, we lost a lot of time even the car was perfect without any incident.

Pros: Nothing. Car wasn’t very clean. One car had no washer fluid, ran out of oil and had a tire need total replacement. What a waste of our time while on holiday!! Why am I taking care of a rental car like it’s my own?!

Cons: We rented the car through discovery and our plane was quite delayed. I bought onboard wifi for $12 CAD just to let the rental company knoe. The only contact I had was to discovery. I emailed them and they responded telling me they’d let Galdieri know. They obviously didn’t. Galdieri gave away our rental and then charged us AGAIN for the rental we’d already paid for. We’ve been charged twice! Why?

Pros: The representative was helpful, he took his time to answer all our questions and tried his best to give us the car we needed, even though it wasn’t the car we booked. According to him he gave us an upgrade since we asked for an automatic transmission and the options were limited for that type. The drop off was very easy and fast. Let’s hope we don’t get any surprises eventually.

Cons: The representative tried to sell us an additional insurance stating that the coverage we purchased from discovercars.com was not sufficient nor useful! We declined the additional insurance as it was very expensive (around 35 euros per day)had to purchase the road assistance to feel more secure only to discover later that it was already provided by the coverage we purchased through our booking. This made us worry about the car and our trip and created some sort of an anxiety throughout our trip.

Pros: Super easy pickup (though I had to specify I had an insurance package already, I think through DiscoverCars) and drop-off. Really straightforward, I got a great car, perfectly functional and clean, and it was great for everything from highways to gravel roads in the middle of Tuscany.

Pros: Personal and not rushed

Cons: Couldn't find the shuttle or off site location. The shuttle van wasn't "obviously" marked as GladierRent

Cons: Charged extra because I was over an hour over my scheduled arrival time. Tried to call but no answer ended off paying additional €340 to Galdierirent on top of the €160 via discover cars. Felt like a con from the rental car company because we went through discover cars. We were lucky to get a car. Would not recommend tbh, bad experience all over.

Pros: The car was good except the window washer was empty and I couldn’t find a way to connect the apple car play in order to get maps onto the screen. Also, there was no advice given in regards to road tolls.

Cons: Reservation auto-cancelled after 60' late, even though the reason was my plane was 90' late in arriving. Crazy. But , Patrizio honored my commitment and got me a car that met needs. Trunk space was too little, but we figured it out.

Pros: High quality car for excellent price. Offered full cover insurance and no hassle experience. Would highly recommend for overall value for money

Cons: The rental company's headquarter is not in the airport. Is hard to find it. They told me that they could keep the reservation only if I pay another full coverage to them.

We had to call Galdieri office several times before we finally got the pick-up - Galdieri don't answer the phone / they answer only occasionally - The car was full of scratches and bumps. I have never rented a car with so many scratches before - The clerk at the check-out was so full of himself that it was very annoying and irritating

Cons: At arrival agents indicated that the reservation had been canceled as we arrived ved 1 hour after the expected rental time… something that is common when arriving with international flights. Also, rental office opens at 8am which is late for international flights.

Cons: At checking the car was dirty and at checkout they discovered a very little scratch and want me to pay for it. I had a video of the check in but because the car was dirty we could not see the scratch and at the end I didn't pay for it but I had to fight. Dishonest behavior

Pros: The requirement for an international drivers license in Italy is ridiculous. Me spending $20 for a piece of paper that does nothing to make me a better driver is an unnecessary cash grab. I didn’t have an international drivers license but could magically rent a car once I paid an extra $500 insurance. It’s a joke.

Then come back to Galderi for a cheaper car rental, 2X the price from original contract! Galdieri blamed DiscoverCars for the cancellation?!?! Just dumb and a waste of time!

Pros: Once we were able to find the airport shuttle pickup, checkout process was fairly quick and easy. Return process was very arduous with quick dismissal of the stated issues we had with the car but quick to charge for issues they identified that were not identified at pickup.

Cons: Where do I start, shuttle very confusing to find pickup location at terminal, car had numerous issues after we drove off lot (tire pressure issue, change oil light, back seatbelts were cut off,) be sure to check out for damage thoroughly and take pictures before leaving log. Don't bother with roadside assistance addition unless you speak Italian. We called for assistance, didn't speak English and said they'd have someone call us back (which of course they never did.)

Pros: Good value.

Cons: They require you to provide your passport and international drivers license. If you don’t have one of these, they make you buy their insurance coverage.

Cons: as indicated in my comment. A further suggestion is to preload in the navigation system provided in the vehicle, the drop off point for the car.

The first car that was given to us.. had a bubble on the side of the tire.. if we didn’t notice it.. it could have been very dangerous.:(! So its very important to take lits of pictures and a complete video at pickup.. like we did.Also they tried to sell us additional insurance.. saying the one we had with discovery cars.. was not sufficient for Italy.

Cons: Nobody was at the airport to attend. Nobody picked up the phone. When I was on my way to the airport the next day to pick up the car, discovercars send me an email saying that the reservation expired. It was a scam

Pros: I would absolutely recommend Galdieri Rent. Great communication and great car. Finding the shuttle to the rental pick up for Galdieri at FCO is a bit tricky, but that’s more a function of the Rome airport being chaotic, rather than Galdieri. Galdieri’s directions are good (go upstairs and stand by the far lane in front of the control tower. Also, call Galdieri and let them know you’re waiting. They have EXCELLENT staff!)

Cons: We hired a toddler seat to go with the car, the first seat was unsuitable for our child’s weight, the second seat had a part missing so was unsuitable again, they finally found a car seat in a container, it was late night and dark when we collected but the next morning we noticed how dirty the seat was so we had to clean this before put our child back in. The pick up took a lot longer than expected and tried to sell us more insurance.
