How do I request compensation under Full Coverage?
Dealing with damage charges after a trip can feel stressful, but submitting your Full Coverage reimbursement claim is usually a straightforward process. To request compensation, simply submit a claim through the “My Booking” section on our website within 90 days of dropping off the car.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Full Coverage works as a reimbursement service. This means the rental supplier will first charge the damage costs (up to the deductible) and any related fees according to the rental agreement. After that, you can submit a claim to request reimbursement for covered expenses.
Prepare clear digital copies (photos or PDFs) of the following:
- Signed Rental Agreement – The contract you signed at the rental desk (not the online booking voucher).
- Damage Report – The check-in/check-out document showing the vehicle condition and photos of the damage.
- Final Invoice – The supplier’s final bill showing the exact charges, including any damage costs or related fees.
- Proof of Payment – A bank statement, card receipt, or screenshot confirming the amount was charged.
- Police Report – Required if a third party was involved or if the supplier requested it.
Log in to "Manage Booking" or "My Booking" on our website.
Select the "Full Coverage" section, click to file a claim, and upload your documents along with your bank or PayPal details.
Most claims are reviewed within 5 business days, although more complex cases may take up to 28 calendar days.
"I can just email my receipts to customer support."
For security and faster processing, claims must be submitted through the official claim form in “My Booking.” This allows our system to track documents and process reimbursement efficiently.
"The rental company will send the final bill directly to DiscoverCars.com."
Due to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) regulations, the supplier can only release these documents directly to you. It is your responsibility to obtain the files and submit them to us through the “My Booking” portal.
💡 Did You Know?
If a rental car accident involves a third party, the case may take longer for the rental supplier to finalize. They must first settle the claim with the third-party insurer to confirm liability and complete the vehicle repairs to determine the final cost of the damage. This process can take up to 90 days, and the request for compensation under Full Coverage can be submitted to us only after the final documents are issued.
What To Do Next:
If you already have the required documents, log in to “My Booking” and submit your claim through the Full Coverage section.
If you are still missing documents (for example, the final invoice or damage report), contact the rental supplier directly to request them before submitting your claim.
