Easycarhire at Palermo Airport

Pros: They will charge you if you do not have an international drivers license. Not clear in the terms and conditions, we were charged an additional 150 euros. Otherwise, staff were friendly, car was great

Cons: We had a flat. We were told by the garage who fixed the tire that the tires were in poor condition

Pros: Nothing, being collected at the airport in a shitty transit minibus, driven by a lunatic to their depot in the middle of nowhere, where you a completely isolated and forced to pay them whatever they want in order to get a car just so you can leave.

Cons: They rented us a car that required repair and they knew it. They told us not to worry about all the alarm lights on the dashboard. I have never rented a car that needed repairs like that one. Also, the outside was completely banged up and scratched.

I am a cust experience manager for a large corporate company for 30 years and I have never experienced anything like it! I will review all over socials to ensure word gets out and others don’t experience the same!

Cons: Non accettano Amex, abbiamo perso quasi un'ora per rintracciarli per telefono e capire dove ritirare la macchina, al posto di una Renault Captur mi hanno dato una Dacia (possono anche avere le stesse caratteristiche, ma la Dacia costa la metà e ci sarà un motivo). Strasconsigliato, è stata l'unica esperienza negativa del mio viaggio in Sicilia. E non do la colpa agli agenti ma alle direttive a cui sono sottoposti e al proprietario di questo autonoleggio, truffaldino e incompetente

Cons: We rented the car with the Easycarhire company, and they scammed us, the price was double the contract, they force us to contract extra insurance to pay with a debit card, since we do not accept contactless payments, apart from 2 small grated we paid an additional €200 . Very bad attention, an unethical and scam company.

Cons: I think Easycarhire in Palermo run a ‘scam’. They have a Euro1000 excess on your card - double most other providers. If your card declines - surprisingly it did for us on 3 cards - they then offer a Euro40-50 per day insurance that reduces the excess. This made the insurance nearly as much as the hire. Beware! Also made me drive back to a fuel station to add Euro5 to the tank When I thought it was how I left it. Would they refund me if over full - haha!

Cons: 1. Easycarehire scammed me to purchase an insurance they knew I do not need. I showed the email from Discovercars with full coverage but they said it is not valid and has zero coverage. 2. Upon returning the car, they made up material damage that did not exist 3. I was treated disrespectfully by staff when I hesitated to sign (yelled, shouted, ridiculed in front of others) - I felt that I had to sign under threat. Overall terrible experience. Considering actions towards the police and media.

Cons: Only thing was that it took a bit of time to find out how to access the shuttle bus to Easycarhire site. Once on the bus everything was fine.

Cons: They do not accept American Express which is ridiculous since they are off a major airport. The cars are very cheap cars. The office is 15 minutes from the airport and they have only one van running and when we got there the first van was already full. Had to wait for the second van. They would not split my transaction in 2 credit cards although they had to run the credit card twice for the rental and the deposit which was UNHEARD $1200. Stay away and use rentals at the airport.

Not very friendly. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. I would have cancelled on the spot if I could have. Next time going to book with a larger company. This ended costing us more than was quoted with their penalty fee!

I had purchased the maximum insurance cover from the discover cars website.. but they said it did not really provide adequate cover and wanted a price of over £250 for the retail period. the cost of the insurance was higher than the cost of the car rental - they said breakdowncover was not included (although it was purchased on your website)

Cons: Easycarhure tried to scam us into spending an additional 500$ (so over twice the cost of the original quote) because we didn't have an international driving permit. We ended up going back to the airport and renting a car through Sixt (who did not try to scam us). I would like a refund of the original deposit, please.
