Ciao Rent Car at Bergamo Airport

Pros: ease of booking online

Cons: I could not make the trip and requested a refund, and the company would not allow refund or offer credit note- avoid at all costs

Pros: return of the car was quick and staff were friendly

Cons: Lack of winter tyres, car was dirty inside, no possibility to reach rental via phone, no information about pick up from airport, not friendly staff during pick up

Pros: Zero. They didn’t have our car

Cons: Even that we check in online one day before,they didn’t have our reservation or our car

Cons: Had to pay extra for cleaning and winter tires. Payed for a medium car - got a super mini. 45 minuttes wait to get the car

Cons: The worst rental company I've ever dealt with. First, the parking information I received in my confirmation wasn't accurate (they'd moved to a different location), and I waited over an hour for the shuttle bus that graciously picked me up. Second, I wasn't informed about hidden fees, such as a daily fee for chains or the cost of car washing, which tripled the rental price. Third, the car washing fee was supposed to be €15, but I was charged €50.

Pros: Nothing at all

Cons: I hated everything about the experience with Ciao Rent. Mainly being charged €600 for a small damage on the windscreen that was already present at the time of pick up. The employee was very aggressive with me and called me a liar when I shows him evidence.

Pros: They didn't consider us or what we might need for our trip and put us in a car that was not suitable.

Cons: When I left I had to wait an hr for the shuttle - they forgot I was there!

Cons: Took 350£ off my deposit AFTER i checked in a signed that car was fine! Its a robbery!

Pros: Then lady at pick-up was helpful and friendly.

Cons: Scammers. At pick-up they told us we need to return the car washed or pay 15EUR for the washing. We returned the car freshly washed and they said the interior should have been cleaned also (which they didn't mention on pick-up) and that we have to pay 20EUR now for the interior. So basically we returned the car clean and they robbed us of 20EUR.

Cons: Staff was grumpy and slow. Customer didn`t feel valued.

Pros: Very good value for money - all elements from pick up to drop off were clear - no attempt to upsell on insurance either.

Cons: Was a little tricky to find the location from the airport (although they did provide a video). Snow chains and car cleaning were extra charges.

Cons: Booked a Citroën C3 and got a Lancia Ypsilon instead. Overcharged for cleaning. Didn't had time to do it in the morning before drop-off, charged €25 for that I had to add 2 litres of engine oil after 1 day The guy at the desk on pick-up day wasn't to friendly, probably upset because I didn't buy the additional insurance

Cons: It during too much time to take us to airport after leave the car! The policy for returning the car clean is for make some extra money!

Cons: The route to the office during vehicle delivery needs clarification. I cannot know it without asking the shuttle bus owners or calling the office.

Pros: Pick up speed and drop off was great and fast. They were really helpfull in everything. The car was clean and new, in great condition (Fiat Panda). Our trip was really great, we have excellent exprerience.

Pros: The rental booking online was clear and easy. The car was just what we expected (same model, clean and working). The price was also great compared to other rental companies in the airport area.

Cons: The pick up service from the airport is was not efficient. We waited for around an hour for pick up. The staff were extremely rude at the rental office, only insisting to immidiately sign the contract with wrong deposit amount and without explaining the process in detail. Also reaching the rental company by phone / whatsapp was difficult (no answer multiple times). Overall the attitude of the staff felt rude and unprofessional which affected the experience.

Cons: bergamo airport : they operate from a garage near the airport. to reach ciao rent you first have to walk 300m, then you get picked by a shuttle and only then you come to their garage. dirty plaće of pickup, dirty car, no carpets. ignorant officials at drop off, no shuttle driver. language spoken by ciao rent: sort of italian dialect, almost no english ,

Cons: The office did not recognise the full car insurance aquired directly on discovercars.com. There has been no personnel in the office for drop off, the office has some kind off deal with the personnel from the other rental company located at the same adress, which were kind of rude and just picked up the keys without performing a check and providing the termination of rent.

Cons: I had to wait for shuttle service for 2h in the airport. The child seat was dirty. When I returned the car, they they did everything posibble to find something wrong with the car, till they found a small scrath I didn't have a photo. Also, their English is very poor.

Cons: Poor guidance for the pick-up point (clarified subsequently with videos and photos). Long waiting time with our son (1h plus) to pick the car - only 1 agent (not most friendly), poor internet connection delaying even more the paper work. Paid few extra euros more than what I was supposed to. Doesn’t matter much but the fact the agent had different amount to pay than the voucher was saying was quite embarassing. Got other car than what I booked, it was visibly damaged outside. Don’t recommend!!

Cons: After exiting the plane, we notified that we had landed and did not have our luggage. Ciao car lady informed us that she wasn't sure if all of us would fit (there were 6 of us). Well... she arrived with a Fiat 500. We let another family go ahead and we waited for an hour and a half for her return, and eventually decided to walk. At the rental office, she wanted us to pay 18 euros for snow chains, even though the voucher stated that they were included.
