How does the fuel policy work?

Your specific fuel policy is outlined on your Voucher and in the "Rental Conditions" of your booking.
The most common arrangement is "Full to Full," which means you pick up the car with a full tank and return it with the same level.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1Check your specific policy

Confirm whether your policy is Full to Full, Same to Same, or Full to Empty (Pre-purchase) by checking your Voucher or the "My Booking" page.

2At Pick-up

Turn on the car and check the fuel gauge before leaving the lot.
If the level doesn’t match the policy, ask the agent to note the exact level on your rental agreement.

3At Drop-off

Refuel the car to the required level at a petrol station close to the return location.

4Document everything

Keep your final fuel receipt and take a clear photo showing both the receipt and the dashboard fuel gauge together as proof of return level.

Expectation:

"I can return the car partially empty and just pay the pump price for the missing fuel."

Reality:

Suppliers charge a premium price per litre plus a significant refuelling administration fee if the car is not returned as agreed. It is almost always cheaper to fill the car yourself.

💡Did You Know?

Some suppliers temporarily block a fuel deposit on your card at pick-up, which usually releases automatically within 21–30 days when the car is returned with the correct fuel level.
With Full to Empty policies, the tank is prepaid at pick-up, so you can return it empty without any additional payment for fuel.
Keep in mind, there is no refund for any unused fuel left in the tank at the end of your rental.

What to do next:

If you’ve already returned the car and notice a fuel charge, first check your bank statement to see whether the transaction is “Pending” (a temporary hold) or “Posted” (a completed charge).
If you believe the charge is incorrect, please gather your final rental invoice and drop-off fuel receipt and contact our support team for assistance.
