Surprice at Athens Airport

Pros: Quick and polite.

Cons: Though the instructions to meet the driver to take me to the Surprice pickup point were in the contract, it still wasn't exactly clear so ended up walking around and asking where the pickup point was. The instructions could be more clearly written.

Pros: We booked a small car (Opel Corsa), but could not fit our 2 big luggages to the trunk. They gave us a sligthly bigger car (Skoda Fabia) without any extra charge, so have saved our trip. All of these with smile.

Cons: No clear indication where the pick up should take place-many pick-up vans in an big area-quite chaotic. When the bus finally arrived after 40 min there were not sufficient space so in the end had to wait 1 hour outside (35'C) for the transport. The I received an 5-6 years old car with many scratches and bumps and in poor condition. When returning they asked us to scan a code to provide a 5-star review...When I refused they went around and asked my kids and put pressure on them.

Cons: I booked Volvo V40 as “intermediate elite “ class and they gave me “Fiat Tipo” as “ intermediate “ class and the agent was insisting that they are in the same class. And finally when I showed her the difference in the website, she said she has no upgrade for me and it is what it is. The car inside was full stains and the carpets were wrong sides. The car was noisy and brake discs were noisy even after the braking. The tire pressure error was on all the time. Steering wheel was shaking at 100km

Cons: I am a repeat customer of SurPrice and was surprised they allocated me a terrible car with worn tyres and insufficient power to climb the slightest of slopes. Very disappointed considering I and my staff use SurPrice more than 4 times a month. I will be reconsidering this going forward

Pros: The first agent (from Albania) was very nice and easy to communicate with. Although we had a problem with the first car, he worked efficiently to get us into an alternate car.

Cons: We had a flat tire within 30 minutes on the highway and had to put on spare and return car. Second car also had a nail in one tire and we found that tire wear was more than half way. Tire inspections should be done after each rental. I also got conflicting information between 3 different colleagues regarding extending the car return so gave up and brought car back at agreed time.

Cons: Old, ugly, noisy, very bad tires that significantly limited the trip. The only good thing about it was the air conditioner. And they ripped us with the insurance fee, as we rented a luxury car.

I really do not understand that some people write about bad experiences with this company. In the near future we will visit Chalkidiki and the man who drived us to the airport told me they have a car hire company in Thessaloniki. For sure, we will hire again our car with Surprice. No surprises!!!

Cons: I order a Peugeot 308 after checking their website where it says that a station wagon is either a Peugeot or Renault. Ended up with a Fiat Tipo which is far more basic

Cons: It took about 40 minutes to get to the site. We got a very old, totally worn out car. We then had to spend several annoying hours with attempts to replace the car. Eventually we received a little less old and less worn out car.

Pros: Rental process is very easy. Flight delay meant picking it up the following day. Agent called and accommodated nicely. My return was also delay and they were accommodating as well. Provided lots of helpful information. Very kind. Would use them again without hesitation.

Pros: There was NONE waiting at the airport. We had to call and they told us to to a different location that the one on the agreement. It took us about one hour to start all the paperwork. There were many other people there complaining about their cars, some even returning them and asking for their money back. We kept on renting because we had an amount already paid but that place is to have second thoughts.

Never again with surprice rental.

Agent suggested we go to a mechanic and have it repaired instead of organising the mechanic and paying for the repair. Was charged an additional 77 euros because I used my wife's credit card (I left my credit card in Australia) and she was placed on the contract as the second driver. We made it clear she didn't and wouldn't be driving the car.

Pros: We were a little late but they didn’t abandon us. Their representative hung around the airport and then stayed with us until the shuttle bus arrived.

Cons: They imposed what I thought as an overly large security. And they tried to pull a fast one regarding “damages” to the car. Had I not taken extensive photographs of the vehicle I may well have been charged for pre-existing damage.

Pros: Have used this company several times, due to the low prices. Overall good exprerience.

Cons: Big minus: They don't fill out in the contract the pre-existing damages, but take their own pictures.This is unacceptable. If I hadn't taken my own pictures too, where a specific scratch was visible, I would have had real problems, because it did not appear on their pictures. This car had a number of smaller scratches already. When I asked for a written confirmation that there were no damages, it was difficult to get it.

Cons: The front tires of the car were worn out in a terrible condition, and nearly caused accidents in the wet weather. We contacted Surprice, who were 1. Very slow to respond, 2. Wanted us to go shopping around for them looking for a good deal on tires. Of course Surprice achieved what they wanted: We don't speak Greek and we weren't going to spend our holiday in the Peloponnes comparing tire garages. On returning the car, Surprice rep apologised - for us however that was too little, too late.

Cons: The car had been wrecked in the past. Car went into limp mode 4 times. Had to be towed to a dealers repair shop twice. Surprice refused to pay the shop. I paid the shop so we could continue our vacation. Surprice did reimburse me when we returned the car.
