Surprice at Athens Airport

Pros: The first agent (from Albania) was very nice and easy to communicate with. Although we had a problem with the first car, he worked efficiently to get us into an alternate car.

Cons: We had a flat tire within 30 minutes on the highway and had to put on spare and return car. Second car also had a nail in one tire and we found that tire wear was more than half way. Tire inspections should be done after each rental. I also got conflicting information between 3 different colleagues regarding extending the car return so gave up and brought car back at agreed time.

Cons: The car was old and not exactly what I was expecting when confirming my reservation. The car packed power when driving up slight hills I would rethink my choices when renting again.

Cons: Old, ugly, noisy, very bad tires that significantly limited the trip. The only good thing about it was the air conditioner. And they ripped us with the insurance fee, as we rented a luxury car.

Pros: By problemen with GPS and massif traffic,nearly too late for our plane. The company decided to drive us to the airport full speed because their shuttle was returning from the airport. I really do not understand that some people write about bad experiences with this company. In the near future we will visit Chalkidiki and the man who drived us to the airport told me they have a car hire company in Thessaloniki. For sure, we will hire again our car with Surprice. No surprises!!!

Pros: We got the car we needed for an excellent price, team on site was professional and welcoming, didnt pay for full insurance and nobody tried to search for something to charge me extra (As we didnt damage the car in any way of course)

Cons: I order a Peugeot 308 after checking their website where it says that a station wagon is either a Peugeot or Renault. Ended up with a Fiat Tipo which is far more basic

Cons: It took about 40 minutes to get to the site. We got a very old, totally worn out car. We then had to spend several annoying hours with attempts to replace the car. Eventually we received a little less old and less worn out car.

Pros: Rental process is very easy. Flight delay meant picking it up the following day. Agent called and accommodated nicely. My return was also delay and they were accommodating as well. Provided lots of helpful information. Very kind. Would use them again without hesitation.

Cons: I happened to change two cars while my rental lasted due to the bad condition of the cars, no right.mirrors or bad tires, and all three of them were in the worst possible condition, dirty with broken parts, and broken roof materials

Pros: There was NONE waiting at the airport. We had to call and they told us to to a different location that the one on the agreement. It took us about one hour to start all the paperwork. There were many other people there complaining about their cars, some even returning them and asking for their money back. We kept on renting because we had an amount already paid but that place is to have second thoughts.

Cons: They were nice when we rented ( I had a problem with my credit card and we had to wait for my bank to fix it). Just the opposite when we return it.

Cons: No refund any money. I rent the car for 10 days and for some reason I had to drop it back in 3 days. I ask them for the refund or a vaucher for an other time but they admit that it is not in their policy.

The car was not full with petrol. 4. I call them and inform them that i will bring the car one hour earlier from the time they open, around 6 o'clock and they charge me 25 euro for one hour. Never again with surprice rental.

Cons: 1 of the car side doors wouldn't open. The agent wasn't prepared to offer us another car. Agent suggested we go to a mechanic and have it repaired instead of organising the mechanic and paying for the repair. Was charged an additional 77 euros because I used my wife's credit card (I left my credit card in Australia) and she was placed on the contract as the second driver. We made it clear she didn't and wouldn't be driving the car.

I picked up the car late at night and basically I was given no choice and was confronted by the salesperson in a rude way. I will never rent from Surprice again and I would not recommend it to anyone !!!

Pros: We were a little late but they didn’t abandon us. Their representative hung around the airport and then stayed with us until the shuttle bus arrived.

Cons: They imposed what I thought as an overly large security. And they tried to pull a fast one regarding “damages” to the car. Had I not taken extensive photographs of the vehicle I may well have been charged for pre-existing damage.

Pros: Have used this company several times, due to the low prices. Overall good exprerience.

Cons: Big minus: They don't fill out in the contract the pre-existing damages, but take their own pictures.This is unacceptable. If I hadn't taken my own pictures too, where a specific scratch was visible, I would have had real problems, because it did not appear on their pictures. This car had a number of smaller scratches already. When I asked for a written confirmation that there were no damages, it was difficult to get it.

Cons: The front tires of the car were worn out in a terrible condition, and nearly caused accidents in the wet weather. We contacted Surprice, who were 1. Very slow to respond, 2. Wanted us to go shopping around for them looking for a good deal on tires. Of course Surprice achieved what they wanted: We don't speak Greek and we weren't going to spend our holiday in the Peloponnes comparing tire garages. On returning the car, Surprice rep apologised - for us however that was too little, too late.

Cons: The car had been wrecked in the past. Car went into limp mode 4 times. Had to be towed to a dealers repair shop twice. Surprice refused to pay the shop. I paid the shop so we could continue our vacation. Surprice did reimburse me when we returned the car.

I need to plan quite some extra time for pick-up and drop off, which doesn't allow me to take very late arrival and very early departing flights.
