ABBYCAR at Athens Airport

Pros: Only one staff member was helpful. A South African gentleman.

Cons: Unhelpful, arrogant and rude.

Pros: The driver from and to the airport was extremely helpful.

Cons: They couldn't sufficiently explain to us the payment issues and couldn't resolve it.

Pros: contrary to some bad reviews i have been treated fairly. I got my security deposit back. The airport shuttle drivers were friendly. Once again I had a good experience with them.

Cons: No complains. The only downside was not AbbyCars but the fact that I needed a pin code for my credit card. And in my country we hardly use the credit card and if we use the credit card then without a PIN code. And I didn't know that. So I couldn't use the booked full warranty service from you and I had to connect it separately to them. So 'DiscoverCars' please add this information about the requirements of a pincode.

Cons: It was disgusting. The car seats provided were old, falling apart and stunk. They did not meet any safety standards. Instead of trying to assist us, the staff ridiculed us and even yelled at us. It was appalling. We were made to leave without any car seat making it dangerous for travel. In addition when we rang the company to discuss arrangements given the fires in Greece and closure of roads, they were argumentative and did not assist. Disgusting behaviour and won’t be booking again.

Cons: I would not recommend this rental. The car was very old, we were afraid all the time that it would leave us on foot (which fortunately did not happen). We had insurance with Discovery car and they still offered us a second (more expensive) insurance in a very unpolite way. The car was full of scratches and with a bumper that moved, upon returning they immediately went to check if it moved more (kind of damage difficult to demonstrate with a photo!!!)

Pros: Van driver was waiting for us upon arrival at airport. Once at rental agency, agent was courteous, knowledgeable, offered a car in excellent condition for good value.

Pros: The bus driver taking us back to the airport was a delight, although I would have preferred him to keep his eye on the road, rather than turning round to chat to us. There was a very polite gentleman who thanked us for using ABBYCAR and wished us a pleasant onward journey.

Cons: Waited for at least an hour for the mini bus to take us to the rental place, despite 3 phone calls asking where the bus was. Rental place quite far away from the airport. Car was not particularly clean, there was a footprint on the inside of the windscreen where the previous passenger had obviously rested their foot, so the car had not been cleaned thoroughly. We had paid for the full insurance upfront which included breakdown cover but the rep tried to push us in to taking extras.

Cons: The manager, I believe his name was Theodore or Theifilos was very rude. We arrived at Abbycars to a man (manager) screaming on the phone to a renter. He then hung up on the phone but continued to curse and talk about the person to other renters. We were given a vehicle that had salt marks in the seat and no windshield fluid. The manager was very rude and loud.

Cons: We had to wait 30 mins for the minibus shuttle to complete a run to the airport as there was insufficient room for 4 people. We then had to rush to get through security to make our flight ontime.

Cons: Сервис принимает только кредитные карты (хотя многие готовы принять и дебетовые). Моя карта почему-то у них не определилась, как кредитная. За полную страховку без депозита они выставили дополнительный счет в 450 евро при стоимости аренды самой машины в 360!!! В итоге машина обошлась нам почти в 800 с лишним евро на 2 недели.

Cons: Waited 30 mins at reception before rental agent could attend us. Would not accept 3 different visas as were debit cards. Theses visas are the ones commonly used in Cyprus. We then wanted to pay full cash amount. He would NOT accept the cash. Then we wanted to use wife's credit card visa f payment but was also NOT accepted since the car rental contract was on husband's name. The only option was for us to pay additional €160 for extra insurance which was already included. Unacceptable!!!

Cons: They charged me an extra 35 euros to use the car one day *less*. Their representative, Giorgos Pelopidopoulo, agreed to let me pick up the car a day late because my ferry was canceled, but keeping the original booking to avoid a change fee. But when I arrived, he changed his story and claimed that we had agreed that I would pay extra to “keep” the booking. This was not true. By then I had no choice but to pay because I was stranded at their premises in the middle of an industrial area.
