ABBYCAR at Athens Airport

Pros: liked everything

Cons: took about 45 mins to be picked up from airport but they made it up when they dropped us off as soon as we were done with returning the car

Cons: They recorded the fuel level incorrectly, and if I hadn’t taken a screenshot, they would have charged me. Also, I was delayed at the airport and arrived to pick up the car a few hours later. They gave my car to someone else (claiming it’s their policy), and now I have to return tomorrow to collect the car I originally booked. As a result, I had to spend the night in Athens instead of continuing to my planned destination.

Pros: The price and the care were fine. The dealing with clients when i returned the car was totally unexeptable with also another SPanish family experiencing similar matters projecting an image not suitable to promoting tourism friendliness in Greece!!

Cons: when i dropped off the car there was a very small scratch at the bumper that was put down as "damage" and charged 282.26 euros plus 67,74 vat total f 350,00 Photos were NOT taken before I just signed a piece of paper that said all was ok with car. I did not hit or bump the car. The lady told me someone could have hit me while parking and me not being aware of the matter... The price for the scratch is absolutely unaxeptable and i had to call the Police which came and the incident was reported.

Cons: Tried to force us to buy additional insurance saying it was a mandatory legal requirement to pay €70 for roadside assistance before taking the car.

Cons: They forced me to buy an additional coverage, although I already had one. They wanted me to pay 100€ because the credit card is also a debit card, with no reason. I have been using this card for years and no rental car had anything to say about

Pros: The only good thing was the driver who picked us up from the airport. He was a South African man who was very nice and friendly.

Cons: We were accused of damage on the car we didn’t do and if we hadn’t of taken our own video of the car we would of been screwed over (felt like a scam) and the driver taking us back to the airport was driving very unsafe and was rude.

And in my country we hardly use the credit card and if we use the credit card then without a PIN code. And I didn't know that. Cons: It was disgusting. The car seats provided were old, falling apart and stunk. They did not meet any safety standards. Instead of trying to assist us, the staff ridiculed us and even yelled at us. It was appalling. We were made to leave without any car seat making it dangerous for travel. In addition when we rang the company to discuss arrangements given the fires in Greece and closure of roads, they were argumentative and did not assist. Disgusting behaviour and won’t be booking again.

Cons: I would not recommend this rental. The car was very old, we were afraid all the time that it would leave us on foot (which fortunately did not happen). We had insurance with Discovery car and they still offered us a second (more expensive) insurance in a very unpolite way. The car was full of scratches and with a bumper that moved, upon returning they immediately went to check if it moved more (kind of damage difficult to demonstrate with a photo!!!)

Pros: Van driver was waiting for us upon arrival at airport. Once at rental agency, agent was courteous, knowledgeable, offered a car in excellent condition for good value.

Pros: The bus driver taking us back to the airport was a delight, although I would have preferred him to keep his eye on the road, rather than turning round to chat to us. There was a very polite gentleman who thanked us for using ABBYCAR and wished us a pleasant onward journey.

Cons: Waited for at least an hour for the mini bus to take us to the rental place, despite 3 phone calls asking where the bus was. Rental place quite far away from the airport. Car was not particularly clean, there was a footprint on the inside of the windscreen where the previous passenger had obviously rested their foot, so the car had not been cleaned thoroughly. We had paid for the full insurance upfront which included breakdown cover but the rep tried to push us in to taking extras.

Cons: The manager, I believe his name was Theodore or Theifilos was very rude. We arrived at Abbycars to a man (manager) screaming on the phone to a renter. He then hung up on the phone but continued to curse and talk about the person to other renters. We were given a vehicle that had salt marks in the seat and no windshield fluid. The manager was very rude and loud.

Cons: We had to wait 30 mins for the minibus shuttle to complete a run to the airport as there was insufficient room for 4 people. We then had to rush to get through security to make our flight ontime.

За полную страховку без депозита они выставили дополнительный счет в 450 евро при стоимости аренды самой машины в 360!!! В итоге машина обошлась нам почти в 800 с лишним евро на 2 недели.

The only option was for us to pay additional €160 for extra insurance which was already included. Unacceptable!!!

Their representative, Giorgos Pelopidopoulo, agreed to let me pick up the car a day late because my ferry was canceled, but keeping the original booking to avoid a change fee. But when I arrived, he changed his story and claimed that we had agreed that I would pay extra to “keep” the booking. This was not true. By then I had no choice but to pay because I was stranded at their premises in the middle of an industrial area.
